The purpose of this research is to explore the oral traditions that exist in the Becirongengor village as well as the social and cultural values ​​contained in these oral traditions so that these values ​​can provide learning for the local community. Starting from the problem that the oral tradition that develops in society is starting to lose its existence. Currently the role of oral tradition has begun to be replaced by the existence of social media that has mushroomed in the community. The question is how the oral tradition is able to provide social and cultural values ​​among the community, especially the Becirongengor Village community. The qualitative descriptive method is the chosen research method. The results found that there are still oral traditions that develop in the community, namely (1) the history of Beciro and Ngengor; (2) Haul Mbah Janten and Mbah Surogati; (3) the Kleman Tradition; (4) Paseban Karang Jiwo; (5) MBET traditions; and (6) Slametan. The social and cultural values ​​implicit in the oral tradition are the values ​​of mutual cooperation, andap ashor, tepo seliro, aji mareng sesepuh, friendship, tolerance, religious, and historical values. Of course, oral tradition also provides benefits in social science and cultural education among people, who have experienced the process of transmitting social values ​​that function for entertainment, reminiscing about the past (meaning to history studying), solidarity and togetherness, religious or religious functions, social control, and education.

Uma Lengge building is traditional building in Bima District West Nusa Tenggara which functions as the residence of Mbojo tribe and place to store food. The study aims to analyze the characteristics and relation of Uma Lengge buildings with the social and cultural life of Maria Village. The approach used in this study is archaeological approach with qualitative descriptive method. The study began with collecting data through literature study, direct observation, and interviews. The trapezoidal part of the roof with legs, has two pieces of crossing each other at each end of the ridge with bamboo material. The door leads to Mecca. The front part of the house may not be faced with another houses. Uma Lengge has three main parts such as the foundation, the first floor and second floors. The building of Uma Lengge has links with social values such as the value of mutual cooperation, value of hospitality, value of deliberation, value of helping and cultural values in Ampa Fare ceremony and inter dowry ceremony. Bangunan Uma Lengge merupakan bangunan tradisional di Kabupaten Bima Nusa Tenggara Barat. Bangunan ini berfungsi untuk tempat tinggal masyarakat suku Mbojo sekaligus tempat menyimpan bahan makanan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis karakteristik serta keterkaitan bangunan Uma Lengge terhadap kehidupan sosial dan kebudayaan masyarakat Desa Maria. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah pendekatan arkeologi dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian dimulai dengan melakukan pengumpulan data melalui studi pustaka, pengamatan secara langsung di lapangan, melakukan wawancara untuk data penelitian melalui informan. Diperoleh data pada bagian atap bangunan berbentuk trapesium sama kaki serta memiliki dua buah wanga yang saling menyilang pada setiap ujung bubungan atap dengan bahan bambu. Bagian pintu bangunan arah hadap mengarah ke Mekah, bagian depan bangunan tidak boleh berhadapan dengan bagian depan bangunan di sekitar tetapi bertolak belakang terhadap bangunan lainnya. Bangunan Uma Lengge memiliki tiga bagian utama seperti bagian pondasi, lantai satu dan lantai dua sekaligus atap. Bangunan Uma Lengge memiliki keterkaitan dengan nilai sosial kehidupan masyarakat Maria seperti; nilai gotong royong; nilai silahturrahmi; nilai musyawarah; nilai tolong menolong dan keterkaitan pada nilai kebudayaan dalam kehidupan masyarakat Desa Maria seperti; upacara Ampa Fare dan upacara mengantar mahar.

This research aims to examine in depth the role of women in two novel Garis Perempuan and Tempurung.  The role of women in the field of social, cultural, educational, and economic conteks. Then to compare all those roles and summed and find the relevance in education.This study used a qualitative descriptive method with a structural approach and the approach of comparative literature that discusses. 1) a description of each character, setting, and plot lines in the both novels. (2) the roles of women in the field of socio-cultural, educational, and economic,3) comparison of the role of women in the those two novels, (4) the relevance of the role of women in education. The research data in the form of a statement  contains of sentences or paragraphs include narrative, dialogue or monologue, as well as interviews with researcher colleagues.Novel Garis Perempuan and Tempurung tells about the struggle of women in playing their roles in various fields such as the social field of culture, education, and economics.In order to play those  roles they have to choose; worth of free choice or value. The role of women as mothers was found to be a figure or a model of all those women in struggle. Penilitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji secara mendalam peran perempuan dalam novel Garis Perempuan dan novel Tempurung. Peran perempuan dibidang sosial budaya, pendidikan, dan ekonomi, lalu membandingkan peran-peran tersebut kemudian menyimpulkan dan menarik relevansinya dengan pendidikan.Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan struktural dan pendekatan sastra bandingan yang membahas tentang (1) deskripsi masing-masing tokoh, latar, dan alaur novel Garis Perempuan dan novel Tempurung, (2) peran-peran perempuan dibidang sosial budaya, pendidikan, dan ekonomi, (3) perbandingan peran perempuan di dua novel, (4) relevansi peran perempuan dengan pendidikan. Data penelitian berupa pernyataan yang berupa kalimat atau paragraf yang berupa narasi, dialog, ataupun monolog, serta wawancara peneliti dengan rekan sejawat.Novel Garis Perempuan dan novel Tempurung mengisahkan tentang perjuangan perempuan dalam memerankan perannya diberbagai bidang seperti dibidang sosial budaya, pendidikan, dan ekonomi. Dalam rangka memerankan peran ini mereka harus memilih; pilihan senilai atau bebas nilai. Peran perempuan sebagai ibu ternyata dapat menjadi figur atau contoh dalam sebuah perjuangan.

Istana Maimun adalah istana kebesaran Kerajaan Deli yang dibangun pada tahun 1888. Saat ini istana maimun sudah beralih fungsi menjadi museum dan hunian untuk keluarga keturunan sultan. Istana Maimun memiliki daya tarik tersendiri terutama sebagai bukti perjalanan sejarah kebudayaan Kota Medan. Dalam Penelitian ini Peneliti menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif yaitu dengan menguji signifikansi kondisi Istana Maimun sebagai bangunan bersejarah Kota Medan melalui nilai sejarah, nilai ilmu pengetahuan, nilai agama dan nilai kebudayaan seperti yang ditetapkan dalam UU No.11 Tahun 2010. Dengan pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, dokumentasi dan konservasi lapangan. Hasil dari penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadikan Istana Maimun menjadi bangunan bersejarah cagar budaya Nasional.   Maimun Palace is an oversized palace of the Kingdom of Deli which was built in 1888. At present Maimun Palace has turned into a museum and residence for families of descendants of the Sultan. Maimun Palace has its own charm, especially as evidence of the journey of the history of the city of Medan. In this study the researcher used a qualitative descriptive method, namely by testing the significance of Maimun Palace as a historical building in Medan through historical values, the value of science, religious values and cultural values as stipulated in Law No.11 of 2010. By collecting data through interviews, field documentation, and conservation. The results of this study are expected to make Maimun Palace a historic building of national cultural heritage.

This research is a study of policy implementation that focuses on resistance to the changes in pattern of village heads general election (pilkades) policy form the conventional to the electronic way (e-voting). The study began with a demonstration against this policy conducted by a number of village heads in Sleman Regency. The e-voting system in the pilkades is not a new thing in the history of democracy in Indonesia. Some districts such as Jembrana, Boyolali, Pemalang, Musi Rawas and other regions have implemente this new pattern of elections without any significant problems especially in the form of resistance form the communit. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method, by describing what is expressed by the informant of a phenomenon that occurs in the midst of the community in addressing such technology adoption (e-voting). Based on the results of this study found two categories of reasons for resistantion, namely : objective reasons and subjective reasons, including: (1) Objective Reasons: Not Easy, Economic Threats, Damaging Regulatory Values, and Fear of Loss of Status and POwer. (2) Subjective Reasons: Fear of Failure, Damaging Cultural Values, and Low Trust. Those reasons are in harmony with the nine causes of resistance to change as stated by Gary A. Yukl in his book entitled “Leadership in Organization” (2010). he nine reasons for the emergence of resistance are mady by the author as a theoritical basis in studying the resistance factor of the e-voting election policy.   Keywords : resistance, e-voting, pilkades, change, policy

The village of Ende is a traditional hamlet located in Sengkol Village, Pujut Subdistrict, Central Lombok. These villagers live their daily activities by holding firmly to traditions that are still rooted from their ancestors. It is seen that the house thatched roofs that characterize the Sasak tribe would be an interesting scenery and become one of the attractions of tourists to come to the village. The purpose of this research is to know how effort done by sasak tribe in order to increase tourist attraction of Ende village and how social society role of society of Ende village to change its environment. This research uses qualitative descriptive method, through observation and interview. The results of this study indicate that the village of Ende as a tourist village has some efforts or ways that are done in order to improve the tourist attraction. The method used is inseparable from the rules and norms that apply in the village of Ende. This norm is of course based on local wisdom while maintaining the authenticity of their customs. In addition to the customary norms governing, there is also the social role of the Sasak people to preserve the culture and environment of Ende Village from the diffusion of foreign cultures.

This study aims to understand the history and struggles of Islamic law and Tolaki culture in the munakahat fiqh, inherited from the Tolaki community as contained in the Tolaki customary law structure. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method and a phenomenological approach. This research shows that the struggle of Islamic law and marriage culture in the Tolaki community is that the relationship between Islam and Tolaki culture shows adaptation, mutual understanding, and conversation. This relationship means no dominant or mutually dominant camps in this cycle of marriage, Islam, and traditions. Thus, there is a need for the role of traditional leaders, religious leaders, community leaders, and the government to socialize intensely the importance of cultural values in society, nation, and state to preserve existing culture for the continuity of future generations in various activities.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami sejarah dan pergumulan tentang hukum Islam dan budaya Tolaki dalam fikih munakahat yang diwariskan kepada masyarakat Tolaki yang terdapat dalam struktur hukum adat Tolaki. Dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dan pendekatan fenomenologi, Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pergumulan hukum islam dan budaya perkawinan pada masyarakat Tolaki adalah hubungan antara Islam dan budaya Tolaki menunjukkan adaptasi, saling pengertian dan percakapan satu sama lain. Artinya, tidak ada kubu yang dominan atau yang saling dominan dalam siklus pernikahan, Islam, dan tradisi ini. Untuk itulah perlunya peranan tokoh adat, tokoh agama, tokoh masyarakat maupun pemerintah secara intens dan berkelanjutan dilaksanakan berbagai kegiatan yang mensosialisasikan pentingnya nilai-nilai budaya dalam kehidupan bermasyarakat, berbangsa dan bernegara guna melestarikan budaya yang sudah ada demi kelangsungan generasi mendatang.

The local wisdom describes the way to behave, to act, and to quickly respond towards the physical or cultural community’s environmental changes. The study was conducted in January-March 2017 in the area of a traditional village at kampong Naga Nagaratengah, Neglasari, Salawu, Tasikmalaya, West Java Province. The integrated community empowerment model with the wisdom and local cultural values aimed to increase the productivity, income and quality of life which was mutually beneficial. In this empowerment model, the research method employed was a qualitative approach with the descriptive method, and the techniques of data collection were the study of literature, observation, interviews, and documentation. The finding described the role of the community as one of the bases of the local wisdom role improvement that possessed by the Naga village community environment. Through the social entrepreneurship activities, a handy-craft was not only measured by its profit only, moreover it was viewed as a social cooperation between members of the community as well as providing the largest understanding to the community about the importance of the natural and cultural conservations for the survival of the kampong Naga community. The obedience and cultural inheritance in the form of values, norms, customs, and social roles continuously transpired from generation to generation. The presence of Islam in the Bugis Bone tribe not only changes people's beliefs but also traditional activities such as wedding rituals, mappalili (traditional ceremonies before planting rice), guarding arajang (heirlooms). The positions of Bissu, who is an indigenous leader, are very influential in the Bugis Bone community, but nowadays, its existence is discredited by the presence of Islamic hegemony. This research focuses on the transformation of the perseverance of Bissu in the leadership of traditional rituals in the Bugis Bone Tribe, before and after interacting with Islamic religious values. This study uses a descriptive method that describes the social conditions in the life of Bissu, by observation and interview techniques to the Bissu, Muslim leaders, and cultural actor. This study found the fact that the existence of Islam had a dominant influence on the social status of Bissu, which resulted in their role as leaders of traditional rituals being less respected by the community. The role of Bissu in daily activities has become less involved because it has been replaced by the values of religious puritanism. The government needs to educate the history of Bissu and the cultural traditions of Bone to the public and young generation.

Oral traditions are considered as a reliable source of historical writing. It represents collective experience and wisdom. But oral tradition is largely anonymous. It imperceptibly absorbs what comes from many sources—individuals, inside groups, and outside groups. In any society, oral tradition has the function of supporting the political structure, economic systems, religious aspects and the social and cultural moves of the group. The knowledge and experience of elders and lessons learned by several generations through experience are crystallized into it. In this paper, an attempt is made to analyse the importance of oral tradition, its elements and various aspects in association with utilization of oral tradition as important source material for the reconstruction of history. Paper also emphasize the need of carefulness and patience on the part of historian while using the facts and should go in to deep the roots of the oral tradition in order to ensure that the facts collected and gathered are authentic and genuine.

Public service broadcasting (PBS) has a central role in the terminology of the democratic broadcasting system. The role of PBS institutions is aspired to be an information balancing institution by bringing democratic values, plurality, and maintenance the cultural values of society. In Some Countries, Public broadcasting are not always in ideal conditions. Some Problems in internal and pressure from external are the factors that often hinder it. This article try to seeks the picture of condition of PBS in Indonesia, especially TVRI. The discussion is doing by tracing the history of birth and development, the problems present, and the challenges of the future that facing TVRI. This article uses a qualitative descriptive approach by using literature review method. The collecting of data doing by use literature review technique on relevant sources.
