We consider the study of the use of modern educational technologies in English lexis and grammar distance learning relevant and timely. The purpose of the article is to characterize popular current educational technologies and their possibilities in distance learning of English lexical and grammatical structures, to define five most perspective online services for pupils of general secondary education institutions. Methods. The author implements the purpose with the help of theoretical (analysis and synthesis of own experience and of domestic scientists concerning the use of existing educational innovative computer technologies in English learning) and empirical research methods (observation of the educational process), together with the elements of statistical (analysis of student survey results). The results. Considering student survey results, the author’s experience, the article names and characterizes 43 modern online educational technologies in English learning, they online platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Classroom, Skype, Nz.ua, ClassDojo, Moodl), online services (Google Drive, Padlet, Google Forms, Microsoft Forms, Kahoot!, Grammarly, Quizlet, Quizizz, Plickers, Socrative, Hot Potatoes, LinguaLeo, ToonDoo, Classtime, Lang-8, Сoursera, LearnEnglish, BBC Learning English, British Council LearnEnglish, Tandem, Enpodcast, Bussu), mobile apps (Memrise, Rosetta Stone, Babbel, FluentU, MindSnacks, Open Language, Mosalingua, Messenger, Telegram, Viber, WhatsАрp), virtual whiteboard (Paint, Google Slides, Bitpaper.io). The article suggests grouping these technologies according to 7 purposes of use (to conduct online English lessons in real time; to create virtual classes, lessons and tasks; to send tasks and communicate; online services for learning English vocabulary and grammar; to use a virtual board; to store works and materials of pupils; to assess and control English language skills). Conclusions. The benefit of the study is that the possibilities of online services in distance learning of English lexical and grammatical structures have been emphasized, and five the most perspective for pupils of general secondary education institutions have been defined as Moodle, Google Classroom, Google Forms, Kahoot!, Zoom.

“The ACRL Guidelines for Distance Learning Library Services (2000) assert ‘access to adequate library services and resources is essential for the attainment of superior academic skills in post-secondary education, regardless of where students, faculty, and programs are located’ ” (Nicholas and Tomeo, 2005). Additionally, the guidelines include responsibility for promotion of library services to both students and faculty in distance education programs (Association of College and Research Libraries, Distance Learning Section, 2004, p.4). As the number of distance education programs and courses grows, and as methods of delivery evolve, distance education librarians have pro-actively assumed the role of providing equitable services and resources to all distance students using the Guidelines as a framework. However, providing the services and resources accomplishes nothing if faculty and students are not aware of them. Effective marketing efforts are needed to maximize the awareness and use of library services and resources.

Today, in a pandemic crisis, there is a forced transition from the traditional system of education, designed for full-time «classroom», to a paradigm of learning, where face-to-face stages must be organically combined with remote, and their alternation must occur as required by conditions quarantine restrictions. The usual «quarantine vacations» of previous years have become impossible, when students were able to simply stay at home, and the lost time was further compensated by the intensification of education. Education now faces a situation where views on the basic organizational and methodological principles of learning, the format of the lesson, the use of digital tools, the involvement of students in online work, the use of new distance forms and methods of learning must change. During 2020, significant changes in the regulatory framework took place in education in Ukraine, in particular, the provisions on the distance form of full general secondary education and sanitary regulations for general secondary education institutions were approved, and electronic journals were introduced. However, the analysis of the definitions showed that different documents provide different definitions of the basic concepts of «distance education», «distance learning». Much attention is now being paid to teaching teachers the current way of teaching and the digital tools that can provide it. However, there are still many problems and issues regarding the effectiveness of distance learning, the choice of appropriate programs and services, the rational presentation of educational material. The article highlights a topical issue – providing remote teaching of certain school subjects, in particular the subject «Computer Science». Various methods and approaches to learning are given, digital learning tools tested by the authors of the article are proposed, which can be used as an alternative to local software during distance learning, relevant examples are given.

The article provides an analysis of theoretical and practical research on the form of distance education, analyzes the data of sociological research to study the problem of transition to distance learning in Kazakhstan’s general education schools during the coronavirus pandemic. The aim of the study is to consider the problems and prospects of distance learning after the coronavirus period. The study was conducted using the survey method, and students, teachers, and parents who had distance learning experience during the pandemic were interviewed. The technical features of working with educational internet resources were analyzed and conclusions were drawn on the further development of distance learning in the Kazakh secondary education system. To overcome the crisis in education, it is necessary to constantly monitor data on students, teachers and schools. This monitoring will need to be based on a combination of existing data and assessment systems, and data from new approaches adapted to the specific context. In order to increase sustainability, data should be used to assess the state of the learning environment and the level of school accountability.

Introduction. The training of future foreign language teachers should focus on current advances in the IT field, in particular on the use of elements of distance learning in mastering professional and general competencies. One of the common learning management systems that provide distance education is the Moodle system –Learning Management System(LSM), courses, virtual learning environment, or just a learning platform that provides educational subjects and administrators with a large set of tools for computerized teaching and learning. Purpose. The purpose of the paper is to analyze the features and advantages of distance learning in the information and educational environment of higher education, the structure and principles of working with distance courses in the Moodle system during the training of future teachers of foreign languages, which is used at Mariupol State University, and also to determine the advantages of the Moodle learning management system in the educational process. Results. We believe that the Moodle system, which was developed in the logic of the “pedagogy of social constructionism” (P. Berger and T. Lukman), is able to significantly increase the level of education if the work of students is properly organized in it: it will create a solid base and allow to prepare a specialist who is well trained and possesses competencies at a high level. On the example of our distance course “Methodological workshop” for students of OS Master in specialty 014 Secondary education “Language and Literature (English)”, which organically combines the theoretical principles and practice of teaching English, as well as in-depth study of the courses“Methods of teaching basic foreign language in secondary education”and“Modern technologies for teaching a basic foreign language (English) in high school”, which have practical importance in the professional development of future specialists, we analyzed the productivity of work organization and the effectiveness of students learning in Moodle, using the principle of “constructive coordination” (John Biggs). In its construction, we approached the planning of the entire process of studying the discipline as a set of interconnected types of educational activities of students. The principle of “first content, then technology” works here. This course contains three components that are consistent with each other: 1) expected learning outcomes, consistent with the objectives of the educational program and programmatic learning outcomes; 2) assessment, which verifies certain learning outcomes; 3) all types of activities during the course that are aimed at achieving learning outcomes. Conclusion. According to online surveys and our own experience, the use of distance learning courses created in the Moodle system in the educational process of students allows them to better study a specific academic discipline, helps to improve students’ achievement; complements enriches and makes the learning process convenient for both students and teachers.
