Several schools in Indonesia implement a Curriculum 2013 in conjunction with the Cambridgecurriculum on learning. In curriculum documents, there are several different things especially the learningmaterials. This study was analyzed the presentation of the teaching material in Curriculum 2013 and Cambridgecurriculum so that it can be taken into consideration in policy in planning education and learning programs.Qualitative descriptive analytical method applied in this study with the activities of collecting both thecurriculum document first, then analyzed it and then explains the results of the analysis before drawingconclusions. The results showed that there are some materials in Cambridge curriculum belonging to a lowerlevel of difficulty and depth compared to Curriculum 2013. There are differences in the presentation of thematerial in the Cambridge curriculum is presented on an ongoing basis in each class. On the contrary inCurriculum 2013, the presentation of the material is really deeper in two or one particular class only thanCambridge curriculum. In addition, overall in both the curriculum, most of the material were the same andespecially, statistics and probability materials were sustainable at each level.

[TAFSEER LEARNING METHODS IN 'ULUM AL-QUR'AN BASED SCHOOL]. This paper is aimed to respond to the lack of formulation of tafsir learning methods at schools. This study shows that the learning method with the basis of Ulum al-Qur’an consists of three aspects, i.e. the foundation, learning material, and method. The foundation of tafsir learning comprises three elements; it must be based on the function of the Qur'an, gradual, and not burdensome. Then, the learning materials of tafsir can use the stories contained in the Qur'an, asbab al-nuzul (reason of revelation), and the main themes of the Qur'an. Meanwhile, the tafsir learning process uses the ijmali method. This is a library based study with data sources from books, especially ‘Ulum al-Qur'an Mabahits fi 'Ulum al-Qur'an by Manna' al-Qathan, 'Ulum al-Qur'an by Nuruddin' Itr, Kaidah Tafsir by M. Quraish Shihab, and Membumikan Ulumul Qur’an by Ahsin Sakho Muhammad as well as research results in the form of journals and others in the field of education. In the process, this study uses a descriptive-analytical method with a content analysis approach and contextual interpretation.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh gambaran tentang (a) perubahan unsur-unsur cerpen, (b) karakter para tokoh dalam cerpen, dan (c) nilai-nilai humanis dalam cerpen sebagai alternatif bahan pembelajaran apresiasi sastra. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis konten dengan pendekatan psikologi sastra. Tahapan penelitian dilakukan dengan studi dokumentasi, yaitu diawali dengan mempelajari teori, lalu mengumpulkan cerpen-cer pen yang monu mental dari ma jalah Hori son, kemudian menganalisisnya, melakukan uji coba, dan menyimpulkan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perkembangan unsur-unsur cerpen: ditemukan berbagai karakter dalam tokoh cerita serta ditemukan juga nilai-nilai luhur dalam cerpen yang dapat diaplikasikan dalam pembelajaran di kelas. Cerpen-cerpen tersebut dapat dijadikan bahan pembelajaran sastra yang menyenangkan bagi siswa dan berguna bagi kehidupan sehari-hari masyarakat.Abstract:This study is aimed at obtaining the description of (a) the changes in the elements of short stories, (b)  a picture of  the characters in short story, and (c)  a picture of humanist values in short story as an alternative learning materials of literary appreciation. This study uses content analysis to psychology literature approach. The stage of the  research is conducted by studying the related theory, collecting short stories from the Horison magazine, and analyzing, conducting trials and error,  and making conclusion. The results of research  shows that there is  the develop- ment of the elements of the short story: finding a variety of  characters and great value in the story that can be applied to the teaching-learning process in the classroom as a fun learning materials for students of literature and useful for everyday social life.

Machinima, screencast animated videos made in a virtual world, are still not a very well-known phenomenon, and there has been little reseach in relation to their use as a teaching material in English language classrooms. This study aimed to investigate the potential for and challenges in using machinima in the pre-intermediate English as a foreign language (EFL) classroom. Bespoke machinima were created for three classes in Nepal, and the lessons using them were observed. Two teachers and four students were given semi-structued interviews, and 20 students were asked to write a reflective note on their impression of the use of machinima. The findings of the study indicate that machinima are distinct from other materials in that they can be contextualized to address the needs, interests, and values of the learners. Student engagement is thus found to have been significantly higher.

This research is intends develop integrated thematic learning materials by using discovery learning (DL) model in the 5th grade of elementary school. It categorize this research into research and development study. The model includes four phases, defining, designing, developing, and disseminating phases. However, it did not include the disseminating phases. The subjects of the research were 5th grade students. The results of the research show that the validity score of the learning materials developed is 3,36. Questionnaire and interviews with the teachers and the students reveal that the materials developed are practical. The score given by the teachers is 96, 43%, and by the students is 84, 5%. Based on the results, we conclude it that the integrated thematic learning materials developed by using (DL) model are valid and practical to be use in the learning process.

Living in the 21st century brings new challenges for the educational system, especially that which concerns education in mathematics, statistics, and technologies. In this chapter, recent problems of teaching statistics in schools in Bulgaria are discussed. The present state of the mathematics curriculum is presented, namely in the section “Probabilities and statistics”; some existing problems are discussed, and recommendations are made for further improvement of the teaching material. The objective of the study is to provide ground for increasing the statistical literacy of the younger generation through a more comprehensive and more up-to-date education in school.

In several schools in Central Aceh, students’ average in writing is about 71 from the minimum score 70, it means that the students are still weak in writing. One of the problem is students are unfamiliar with topic in writing genre. This study aims to improve students’ skill in writing by developing the English teaching material in genre based on Gayo local culture. Before developing the material, the writers observed some schools in Central Aceh about students’ problem in writing English. After getting the data abaout students’ problem, the writers designed the teaching material in genre based on Gayo Local culture. The next step is modifying the teaching material and it should be validated by some expert. The valid design then disseminate to some Madrasah Aliyah in central Aceh. All the stage in this research namely 4D stage. Data collected in this study is Lesson Plan and Material development validation sheet. The result of this study is a handbook of text types (genre) based on Gayo local culture. Developed teaching materials are expected to improve students’ writing ability.
