The people of Java have many beliefs or myths about the behavior of their people in daily life. One of them is a myth or belief in Javanese society that if someone spits in the well, the person's lips will be cleft. The purpose of this research is to open people's thinking that there are also myths that are beneficial to health and explain these myths scientifically. The method used in this investigation is qualitative descriptive through a case study in Sukoharjo, Central Java. The results of this study indicate that the myth can suppress the spread of bacteria that originate in saliva that can cause periodontics and all other dangerous diseases. Because, a part of the human body that becomes a den of bacteria is the oral cavity. Some of them are Streptococcus mutans, Streptococcus bovis, Streptococcus sanguis, and Streptococcus salvarius. The direct impact that can be taken from this study is that the public knows that the myth can suppress the proliferation of bacteria that originate in the oral cavity, which is also transported by saliva.

In order to improve the performance of Central Java Parliament, social media has been used as a tool that is easy, inexpensive, and could reach all segments throughout the region of Central Java. This study aimed to evaluate the use of social media in the implementation of the functions of legislators to communicate with the public. This research is a qualitative research with case study method. Capturing data through in-depth interviews to Central Java Parliament members who are active in social media and the public in their networks. The results of the study consisted of three things. First, social media is used by members of the Central Java Parliament for three reasons: (1) communicate the functions of the parliament (legislative, control, and budget); (2) communicate with the public in order to listen public needs and get feedback; (3) a means of self entertainment by using social media as a tool to express their selves and share personal information. Second, related to the function of the parliament which has been communicated through social media, the control function is the most frequent performed. While the legislative function performed moderately, and the budget function as the most rarely communicated. Third, public informants in social media networks of Central Java parliament members perceives the them as representatives of the people who actually work for the people. Keywords: social media, members of the board, the function of parliamen.

Komunitas anak punk semakin lama semakin banyak. Dengan berbagai latar belakang dan memiliki ideologi yang sama dengan teman lainnya. Pada kenyataannya,keberadaan anak punk tidak sepenuhnya dapat diterima di masyarakat. Masyarakat menilai mereka dengan pandangan yang negatif. Dalam pandangan masyarakat, komunitas punk memang memiliki perilaku  menyimpang, identik dengan label negatif yang mengedepankan gaya, trend, dan fashion. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran komunitas anak punk di daerah X Kota Batam.         Hasil penelitian ini bahwa anak punk di daerah X memilih untuk menjadi anak punk bukan karena terpaksa atau sekedar ikut-ikutan saja. Bagi anak punk di daerah X menyikapi hidup mereka dengan tidak tergantung kepada orang lain (lebih mandiri). Dimana, disaat anak-anak muda yang lain lebih memilih diskotik atau tempat hiburan lainnya. Anak punk di daerah X memilih jalanan sebagai tempat mereka berbaur bersama dengan teman-teman anak punk lainnya dalam kesehariannya. Kata Kunci: Kasus, Komunitas Anak Punk, dan Daerah BatamCommunity punk gradually becoming more common. With a variety of backgrounds and have the same ideology with other friends. In fact, the existence of punk kids are not fully accepted in society. People consider those with a negative view. In the view of the public, the punk community does have a deviant behavior, synonymous with a negative label that emphasizes style, trend and fashion. The purpose of this study is to describe the punk community in the X area of Batam. The results of this study that the punks in the X chose to become a child of punk is not out of necessity or just went along with it. For children of punk in the X addressing their lives by not depend on others (more independent). Where, when young people others prefer a discotheque or other entertainment venues. The power blackout on 4th August 2019 in Banten, Jakarta, West Java, few areas of Central Java caused lots of impacts to citizens. This case is directly related to the public interest, so that the majority of mass media including cyber media reported related information. The purpose of this study is to describe how Okezone.com constructs controversial facts or issues to frame a story into news and to discuss how to apply the Journalistic Code of Ethics (KEJ) in framing the news. The theory used is news as media content as well as online media and journalism. This research is approaching qualitative descriptive with Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki framing model analysis method, the author then examines the application of KEJ clause 1 to 4 in the framing data of the related news. The results showed that Okezone.com framed the coverage of the August 4th, 2019 power blackout using the principle of covering both sides. Okezone.com packed controversial issues related to the point of view that cornered and lended negative public opinion to PLN. Then, Okezone.com was still quite good in applying KEJ clause 1 to 4, because only the rules of clause 2 are indicated to be ignored in the reporting of electricity blackout on August 4th, 2019. Peristiwa blackout listrik pada 4 Agustus 2019 di daerah Banten, Jakarta, Jawa Barat, hingga sebagian Jawa Tengah, menimbulkan banyak dampak yang dirasakan oleh warga. Kasus ini berkaitan langsung dengan kepentingan publik, sehingga sebagian besar media massa termasuk media siber memberitakan informasi terkait. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana Okezone.com mengkonstruksikan fakta atau isu yang kontroversial untuk membingkai suatu peristiwa menjadi berita serta untuk menggambarkan bagaimana aplikasi Kode Etik Jurnalistik (KEJ) dalam pembingkaian beritanya. Teori yang digunakan adalah berita sebagai konten media serta media dan jurnalistik online. Pendekatan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan metode analisis framing model Zhongdang Pan dan Gerald M. Kosicki, lalu penulis mengkaji penerapan KEJ pasal 1 sampai dengan pasal 4 dalam data kerangka framing pemberitaan terkait. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Okezone.com membingkai pemberitaan mengenai blackout listrik 4 Agustus 2019 dengan menerapkan prinsip cover both side. Okezone.com mengemas isu-isu kontroversial terkait dengan menonjolkan sudut pandang yang cenderung menyudutkan dan berpotensi menggiring opini publik negatif terhadap pihak PLN. Kemudian, Okezone.com masih cukup baik dalam menerapkan KEJ pasal 1 hingga pasal 4, karena hanya kaidah pasal 2 yang beberapa terindikasi diabaikan dalam pemberitaan blackout listrik 4 Agustus 2019.

The construction of socio-cultural stigmatization on the understanding of mental disorders is particularly interesting to study in the people with mental disorders who received treatment at the Mental Hospital. Mental disorder is a disease caused by the chaos of thoughts, perceptions and behavior in which the individualaare not able to adjust to themselves, other people, society and the environment. By applying the cultural studies viewpoint that is siding with the oppressed, the study aims to determine the forms and factors causing the stigma of people with mental disorders. The research method used is observation, in-depth interviews and life history data collection. The collected data were then analyzed using qualitative descriptive and interpretative. The results showed that the forms of stigma with mental disorders are divided into two, namely the public stigma (stigma derived from the community) and self-stigma (stigma comes from the patient and his own family). The forms of the public stigma include rejection, exclusion, and violence. The self-stigma takes the forms, among others, prejudice, guilt, fear and anger. Factors behind the stigma of mental disorders are external and internal factors. External factors include, among others, the madness is a disgrace, the myth of mental illness, and people's belief regarding the role of dukun. While the internal factors are family knowledge of the etiology of mental disorders, lack of family support and feelings of shame.

Folklore has a position and a really important function for its proponent people. One of those folklores that exist in Pati, Central Java, is a folklore called Ondorante. In addition to completely describe the story, this research also intend to discover the transmission process and the funtions that appear in the Ondorante. Finally, through qualitative descriptive approach by interview, observation and bibliographical techniques, it appears that the folklore doesn’t only play its role as an entertainment, education, reflection or ritual, but also offers a consciousness to the people about the past, about who were their ancestors and the origin of how their native land formed.

The present study has been done using the Survey Research. The research sample scale equals 400 people, besides its statistical population is included the 15-year population and most of the city of Kerman in 2020. The method of multistage-cluster-stratified sampling was used in five districts of the city of Kerman, moreover the results have been analyzed by SPSS and AMOSS16 software, and only is one model fitted with reality among five models of designed path. The results of analysis of path diagram indicate that other coefficients of the path all of them are significant except the direct impact of one's image of the body on sport-based cultural capital and social class on the tendency toward the public sport. Other results of the study suggest that sport-based socio-economic capital leaves an indirect effect on sport-based cultural capital by which the tendency of citizens toward the sport grows up. At that showing athletic advertisements in the media are effective on the tendency of citizens to public sport.

It has been commonly understood that fashion shows are always associated to glamor, luxurious, starred hotels, city centers, elite society, lights, and glittering costumes. It is often not realized that fashion shows have created strong boundaries between the center and the periphery, the elite and the public, the upper and the lower class, glamorous and old-fashioned. Since 2003, Jember Fashion Carnaval has been a peripheral phenomenon against the common convention on fashion. Streets as catwalks have totally changed territorial borders, social hierarchy, and created a favorable fashion carnaval arena. This yearly consistent performance and the reaction to binary opposition in fashion turns out to be able to create positive impacts in various fields of the creative industry, created a social and cultural carnival arena, education, and improve the economy of the people and tourism. The fashion carnaval phenomenon which has grown in the community was a result of dealing with foreign influences to create a new visual culture in Jember.

<p>Mass media is one of the media publications to the public in the formation of the Image. Important positive images are formed to foster public trust. News in the newspaper media is still interesting to be appointed in an effort to build a positive image of educational institutions. In addition to targeting the masses of young people, higher education institutions also target parents who are still familiar with conventional media such as newspapers. The case study in this study was Dian Nuswantoro University (Udinus) and news in the Suara Merdeka newspaper. Suara Merdeka is interesting to be appointed because the local  central Java newspaper has amounts of printing and is still an alternative reading in the Central Java region where this segmentation is in line with Udinus segmentation which is domiciled in Semarang, Central Java.<br />This study aims to analyze the theme of news that often arises about the institution, the frequency of occurrence of coverage in certain periodizations. Furthermore, this can be observed how the reporting of a media that has the power to shape the image of the institution. The method used is quantitative content analysis, which describes how the contents of the media using thematic and physical recording units are analyzed using the concept of public relations about media and the formation of the image of the institution.<br /> <br />The result can be seen that there are 9 sections in Suara Merdeka which present Udinus related news, namely Semarang Metro rubric, Edukasia, Screen, Page 1, Business Economy, Around Young Tugu, Salatiga News, Youth Voice Expressions. Screen Rubric occupies the highest position in the news, which is 70.3%. For the<br />theme that is often reported, there are four types of reporting, namely news related to the world of academics (products), related to environmental responsibility (CSR), reporting related the environment and reporting related<br />to the activities of communicating the activities of the institution.</p><p> </p>

This study is about the changing role of traditional leaders called punyimbang in pepadun community. This research was conducted in the village of Terbanggi Besar, Terbanggi Besar District of Central Lampung regency. This research was motivated by the social and cultural changes taking place in society. The research is a qualitative research method of case study that compares difference conditions punyimbang role ago and today. The results of this study are firstly the social and cultural changes that occurred in the community so that the role punyimbang the first switch and always involved in every aspect of community life is starting at left, second, the factors that cause changes in this role is the modernization that began touching indigenous peoples pepadun village Terbanggi great so that people began to leave things that are traditional, third, these changes have an impact on the conflict in the community, due to the people lost figure punyimbang that exemplifies the good things that people are starting to do a lot of irregularities such as conflict between villages, spoliation, and the conflict between generations, fourth, related to the changing role of public response punyimbang happens is people still assume the existence punyimbang needed as long as there customary held by the public but does not bind as before.
