Indonesian language learning in schools is directed at improving students’ language skills, bothin the aspects of listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Speaking is one of the language skillsthat is vulnerable in relation to spoken ethics. Language ethics is defined as a normative rule oflanguage use which becomes a general guideline agreed by the language user community thatsuch a method is recognized as a language that is polite, respectful, and in accordance with thevalues that apply in society. Someone who is skilled at speaking must consider what will be saidbefore speaking. It is not wrong if the saying goes that language is someone’s personal mirror. The phrase shows that a person’s personality can be judged by his speech in language. Formany people, good words, gentle, polite, will portray someone as a good person and virtuouscharacter. Conversely, rude and bad words will also cause a bad image in the person. On thatbasis, Indonesian speech ethics has an important role in learning in schools which also contributes to the student’s character education curriculum.

This is the first career interview with Austrian documentary filmmaker Nikolaus Geyrhalter, whose films, like those of Fred Wiseman, often focus on cultural institutions, though with a radically different sensibility. Geyrhalter’s most widely known film in the United States is Our Daily Bread (2005), his astonishing documentation of mass food production within the European community. Geyrhalter’s films are visually rigorous and formal—he was a photographer before he turned to filmmaking and is his own cinematographer. His films have explored cultural realities far and wide, from the aftermath of the Balkan wars of the 1990s to the plight of workers laid off from an Austrian factory during the years after the factory closed. His most elaborate film is Elsewhere (2000), a global survey of the edges of modern life and cultural transformation at the moment of the new millennium. The recent Homo Sapiens is a panorama of ruined places and landscapes across the planet at the dawn of the Anthropocene.

With respect to the research methodology, this study employed a qualitative approach and literature study method. In its implementation, the collected data was then analyzed using a descriptive analysis method. Based on the results of the discussion, in order to rectify the educational paradigm in Indonesia, it should initially change the secularism paradigm that has been fossilized in the world of education into the paradigm of Islam, al-Qur`an, and Tauhid. As a consequence, this paradigm will have implications for the establishment of the conceptualized education system that inevitably also affects the to-be-achieved educational objectives. In order to realize a good education system, there should be integration between the elements of education practitioners which consist of family, mosques/schools/campuses, and society. As a result, those aforementioned objectives will be successfully achieved in the moment when Islamic rules are fully implemented in all aspects of life. Therefore, it is necessary to continuously educate the public regarding the importance of implementing Islamic rules in all aspects of life, including in the aspect of education.
