AbstractSocial work is a sharing and caring profession based on scientific methods. This problem solving profession makes people self-reliant and self-dependent when he/she is in any sorts of crises. Thus, it differs from relief work, social services or social welfare delivered during emergence crises. This paper examined the application of professional social work as relief work, which did not bring any change among the beneficiaries; rather it set their mind as opportunist. For this purpose, the programme sponsored by the government of India and implemented by nongovernmental organizations for rehabilitation of the street children (i.e., pavements and slums dwellers, children of sex workers, and so forth) of Metro cities like Kolkata had priority. This evaluative study assessed the progress and changes among 500 street children who were the beneficiaries for 10 years of the programme, selected according to their parental residents/occupation through stratified sampling. Interviews, case studies and group interaction were used to collect data on various aspects, i.e. personal background, education, and occupation of these children. It revealed that after almost 10 years of services, the problem of children was static. Firstly, service delivery system was as relief work. The methods of social work were not implied while the professionals were in implementation. On the other hand, the scope of monitoring and evaluation of the programme by government was suspended due to several reasons. Definitely, the politicalization in human development would be restricted. The problems of suffering would be root out and it should not be a continued process.

The study was designed as a survey research with a target population of teachers working in the Turkish public schools during the 2020-2021 academic years. The sample was formed using a convenience sampling method and made up of 307 (141 female, 166 male) teachers whose ages ranged from 23 to 64. Research data were collected through a questionnaire including “Personal Information Form”, “Generic Scale of Phubbing (GSP)” and “Generic Scale of Being Phubbed (GSBP)”. Descriptive statistics, correlation analyses and multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) tests were conducted for the analysis of the collected data. As a result of the research, participating teachers’ level of phubbing and being phubbed were determined as moderate level. There was no significant difference in terms of gender, educational status and branch variables. Regarding marital status variable, nomophobia and self-isolation levels of single teachers were found to be higher than those of married ones. Age was found to be negatively and weakly correlated with the levels of self-isolation. In addition, the levels of phubbing were found to be positively and moderately associated with the levels of being phubbed.

In the current study, it is aimed to determine the correlation between cognitive flexibility levels and goal orientation levels of the students who are preparing for special talent exams for sports, and to compare these in terms of various demographics. The study group of the research consists of students (n=351) preparing for special talent exams in order to study at faculties/schools of higher education of sports of the universities predetermined through convenience sampling method, which is a sampling method that is not based on probability, that will accept students for 2021-2022 academic year. 180 of the participants are female (51.3%) whereas 171 of them are male (48.7%). In the study, “Cognitive Flexibility Inventory” (CFI) and “Task and Ego Orientation in Sports Questionnaire” (TEOSQ) are used. In order to evaluate CFI and TEOSQ levels of the participants in terms of various demographic features, t-test, ANOVA and Pearson Correlation tests are used. Before the statistical analysis of the obtained data, skewness and kurtosis values of the data are calculated to determine if the data has normal distribution, and it is determined that the data has normal distribution. As a result of the research, it is determined that there is a significant and positive correlation between cognitive flexibility and task-oriented goals and ego-oriented goals. In addition, it is seen that there is a significant difference in control subscale of cognitive flexibility and goal-oriented and ego-oriented targets subscales of participants when the high schools of the participants are considered.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the level of perceived freedom of university students in their leisure time with respect to various parameters. The sample group of the study has been selected with purposive sampling method among Dumlupinar University PE and Sports College students with an average age of 22.49±2.76, of whom 192 are male and 98 are female, with a total of 290 students. In the study, “Freedom Perceived in Leisure Time Scale” which has been developed by Witt and Ellis (1985) and adapted to Turkish by Lapa and Tercan (2017), has been used. To determine the personal information of participants percentage and frequency methods, and to determine whether the data has normal distribution or not Shapiro Wilks normality test has been conducted and once it has been concluded, that the data was suitable for parametric test conditions, independent T Test and ANOVA Test has been used to analyse the data. Analysis shows, that with respect to gender, age, department, grade, and weekly leisure time sufficiency parameters there is no significant difference in perceived level of freedom, but with respect to welfare level and sports branch parameters there is a statistically meaningful difference. Consequently, it has been concluded, that in the perceived level of freedom of participants there are differences with respect to various parameters.
