It focuses on the study of how caste microaggressions are barriers to lower affective filter and promote inclusivity in the classroom. This is a review article based on qualitative research in which the ideas are derived from different secondary sources and are arranged to support how lower-caste students are the victim of caste microaggressions in Nepali society. This article shows that the students of lower-caste families, especially the Dalits, are greatly victimized by discriminatory activities in the schools of rural areas of Nepal. To promote inclusivity and to encourage lower-caste children in learning activities, it is essential to avoid caste microaggression and to emotionally engage such students in classroom activities that have to be initiated by the teachers primarily.

The purpose of this study was to identify the impact of implementing a Learning Management System (LMS) ‘TES BlendSpace’ to promote students’ self-directed learning in EFL flipped-class instruction. For the data collection procedure, an individual interview with ten undergraduate students from an Indonesian college was conducted to demonstrate the potential impacts of the LMS in students’ self-directed learning abilities. The observation of students’ learning activities on the TES BlendSpace was also recorded to support the interview data. The LMS was adopted to distribute and receive information. Thus, the students were able to monitor learning activities, learn the contents before coming to class, evaluate the learning process, and interact with others outside of class hours. The finding of this study suggests that the LMS TES BlendSpace is recommended to be performed in teaching EFL for higher education in Indonesia. It offers students’ occasion to practice and enhances their listening, writing, reading and vocabulary skills in and out-of-class times. It also prepares students to get ready for classroom activities in terms of conversations and speaking skills. The further use of the LMSs should become often-visited sites by students for learning activities and replacing other non-educational favorite websites. The finding of this study indicates that the students’ online culture was predominantly formed by the interesting contents posting on the LMS, especially the video lectures and an easy way to use. Additionally, instructors should develop activities in and around the LMS with a number of benefits and rewards. Hence, the students will be motivated to log in the LMS for learning purposes.

The education system of the 21st century mainly accentuates on pragmatic and collaborative learning where field trip is one of the most prominent methods of learning. Considering this, Brac University arranges a lot of experiential learning activities. Visiting different programs of BRAC is one of them where every student of the university is taken to observe the development trends in rural areas of Bangladesh. This study explores the impact of those visits. The methodology of this research includes both qualitative and quantitative approaches. A survey was conducted where 200 students were selected who visited programs of BRAC. Subsequently, a focus group discussion was arranged where 40 students had taken part. The study shows that this field visit helps students becoming more attached to villages, and it inhibits a sense of responsibility among many of them. This research may help policy makers to design their curriculum more effectively in the future.

Abstract: This research was conducted to see and discover the teaching challenges associated with each teacher or lecturer when teaching in an atmosphere of the Covid-19 pandemic. This is important to research because there have been significant changes in teaching and learning activities when the massive spread of Covid-19 occurred. By using qualitative research based on literature review, some of the most striking challenges were obtained, namely: challenges from technology and instructional media, challenges of teacher unpreparedness, challenges of unsupportive facilities and infrastructure, methodological challenges, and human resource challenges. This research provides several solutions to minimize the impact caused by the above challenges, such as: teachers and lecturers must improve their competence in operating learning media and technology, teachers and lecturers must use the right method, and campuses or schools are required to support the teaching process. by providing facilities and infrastructure.

The study focuses on Yvonne Vera's Without a Name (1994) and Butterfly Burning (1998) and reveals that the re-organisation of the African landscape by the white colonisers had disastrous effects on the environment and this in turn affected the lives of the colonised in irrevocable ways. The study also contends that humanity cannot survive without the environment in whatever situation as it is embedded in the human psyche and influences human behaviours and experiences as revealed in Vera (1994) and (1998). Both novels look at city environments, the cities being colonial constructs that were meant to obliterate the “African” environment. The study is desktop qualitative research employing content analysis in the interpretation and analysis of the chosen texts (novels). The analysis was supported by evidence from other critical works (secondary sources) by various authors/critics. The theory which informs this study is Ecocriticism, basing on Glotfelty's (1996) definition of the term that it is the study of the relationship between literature and the environment. In the same vein, as illustrated in the study, Buell (2005) and Heise (2006) contend that that all literature is environmental, hence this study of the depiction of cityscapes in Vera's works. The study concludes that the re-organisation of the African environment by the colonisers had far-reaching results on both the landscape and the human psyche. It is, therefore, recommended that more studies analysing the impact of the re-organisation of the environment be done so as to map a strategic way in order to undo, rectify and reverse the negativity implanted and nurtured by the colonial environmental systemic practice and agenda.

Information Communication Technology (ICT) has the potential to contribute to development, especially in rural areas of developing countries. But the mechanisms through which ICT can be combined with development agendas and an understanding of the actual development process and impacts of ICT are less well understood or properly defined in the academic literature. This research is an attempt to contribute to understanding this process by analysing the impact of two ICT initiatives in Bangladesh, aimed at improving the lives of rural women. An interpretive approach in the qualitative research tradition was adopted to identify emergent themes in this study. Our findings indicate that these ICT projects have significantly improved the socio-economic opportunities of many women. This paper will be useful for those academics, practitioners and policymakers who wish to enhance their understanding of ICT projects in rural areas of developing countries.

COVID-19 is not just a health crisis. It has disrupted the economy of the entire world. Like most sectors, it has brought massive changes to the field of journalism. The objective of the article is to explore the impact of COVID-19 on journalism in Bangladesh. This study follows a qualitative research methodology based on secondary sources. The study’s findings have shown that the pandemic situation has strongly affected the journalism industry and their work in Bangladesh. Many local newspapers have been severely affected by losses in advertising revenues from coronavirus. Advertisements have gone down by 70-80% despite an increase in television and online media viewership. COVID-19 has infected 1,010 journalists from 191 media houses in Bangladesh. Among these, 942 people have been recovered and 35 journalists passed away till November 15. Prior to COVID-19, few journalists were in financial crisis due to non-receipt of regular salary allowance; this crisis has become more evident during the pandemic situation. At least 600 journalists have been discharged and many journalists have been given compulsory leave without pay. Despite all the hurdles, Bangladeshi journalists continued to contribute to information gathering, dissemination and raising public awareness.
