Grenden Village has the highest number of households in Puger District. Generally, the habit of the people there in managing their waste are throwing it into rivers and the sea. This is the main cause of flooding in that area. One of the efforts to reduce the production of plastic waste is ecobrick. Ecobricks products are the basic material for making tables, chairs, and building materials because they have the strength to withstand loads according to the specified weight. The youth in Grenden village are agents of change who are the object of service to tackle plastic waste in their area. This service activity has 3 stages, (1) socialization regarding the impact of plastic waste disposal in the waters and the introduction of ecobricks, (2) training on making ecobricks, and (3) marketing the results of ecobricks into e-commerce. Participants were very enthusiastic about being directly involved in filling ecobricks with plastic waste and were very confident that they would be able to make more ecobricks in the future by collecting the plastic waste they produce. This positive response is a small step for good changes for the environment, especially in Grenden village.

Therefore, we need replacement materials able to replace these natural aggregate. The large amount of plastic waste in fields, based on existing data, causes environmental pollution through it can be reused and useful for building and road construction. Most of communities don’t even know the plastic waste processing technology that allow their use in the construction of house construction such as floors, walls, roofs, and hinges and also road construction with not heavy road loads. Abstract In Switzerland, dual vocational education and training, which is practice- and employment-oriented, is the most frequently chosen path after compulsory education. The analysis of the training provided in the company by the people in charge of the apprentices questions the influences of the world of work on educational practices. The analysis of 80 semi-directive interviews highlights the tension between production and training, the different representations of apprentices, and the impact of these two elements on training practices.

Abstract I describe lessons learned and the people and principles that influenced six decades of professional endeavours from graduate schools to ascending, often unexpectedly, the science and management ladder in National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) fisheries, which manages US living marine resources. For this woman chemist from India, the twists of fate and love of adventure presented amazing opportunities as well as challenges. My research on cetacean biosonar as well as on the impact of fossil fuel pollution on seafood safety and the health of marine organisms taught me the value of multidisciplinary approaches and unusual alliances. Transitioning into management, and eventually as the director of Northwest Fisheries Science Center, I learned the value of transparency and empathy while communicating our results to impacted communities, and the resolve to support the science regardless of the consequences. My advice to young professionals is that the journey should be as fulfilling as reaching the goalpost. At the twilight of my own journey, I networked with NOAA Fisheries and India’s marine science community to encourage scientist exchanges and training. My participation in University of Washington’s nature and human health programme confirms my conviction that conserving healthy ecosystems is a powerful and practical approach for people and our planet.

With the increasing number of Covid-19 cases in Indonesia, including in Riau Province, it is necessary to implement Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB). PSBB is one way to reduce the impact of Covid-19. PSBB has currently been implemented in 10 regions in Indonesia as part of efforts to prevent the corona virus. The Central Government through the Ministry of Health has approved Pekanbaru to implement the PSBB. The main reason for implementing PSBB in dealing with the Covid-19 corona virus is because physical distancing, which has been carried out so far, is ineffective in the community. On that basis, the government strengthened the policy of physical restrictions for the community by implementing PSBB in the regions. It is necessary to do the socialization of PSBB and this Perwako, so that the public knows the Rules about PSBB. The service activity aims to provide guidance to the people of Pekanbaru City regarding Corona and PSBB, because Pekanbaru City is one of the cities that is a transit point. The implementation of activities to increase public knowledge about PSBB and Perwako was successful. This can be seen from changes in the behavior of people who were previously reluctant to wear masks, then have started wearing masks when they go out, as can be seen from the behavior of people who have avoided people's hassles and tried to keep their distance. The community also complies with large-scale social restrictions set by the government, this can be seen from the minimum community activity at night outside the home.
