Professional self-determination in adolescence for many years has been one of the hot topics of psychological theory and practice. Research in the field of personal and professional self-determination, career choice, continues to be a priority. Professional self-determination is part of the general process of socialization of adolescents, a necessary condition for their success and competitiveness in today's socio-economic realities. And it raises the question of what should be psychological and educational support in these conditions? Problems of career choice are considered on three sides: in the context of the social situation in which there are modern teenagers; from the perspective of adolescents themselves, choosing the profession; taking into account the peculiarities of psycho-pedagogical support of professional self-determination of teenagers nowadays. Analysis of problems leads us to the possible ways of solving them, and the need to build a new model of career guidance.

The article deals with the features of professional self-determination of schoolchildren in years 8–10 of Arctic and Russian Far East regions. The study revealed factors that influence the choice of future professions by schoolchildren; generalized schoolchildren’s ideas about the category of “profession” and its content; analyzed ideas of schoolchildren about their professional future; considered the interests of schoolchildren in building a successful career in the Arctic and Russian Far East regions. The results obtained showed that schoolchildren are more oriented towards higher education, and their chosen professions are in demand in the Arctic and Russian Far East regions where there is a deficit of qualified personnel. The students are optimistic about their professional future, and they also positively assess the opportunities of starting a career with Arctic and Far East companies. Every tenth pupil from Arctic regions and every fifth pupil from the Far East regions noted that they had planned professional implementation in these regions earlier, almost every third pupil was interested in it, but they are not sure that it suits them. The results of the research may be useful in planning themed career guidance activities aimed at involving young people in strategic regions of the country, and useful for career guidance specialists, educators, relevant authorities and researchers.

Given the negative demographic trends and the aging of labor resources in most regions of Russia, it is important to curb educational migration away from them. The study of the mechanisms of professional self-determination of schoolchildren goes beyond pedagogical tasks in the field of public administration and regional economy. Psychological mechanisms of career choice and educational strategy building were widely studied during the twentieth century, but the question of the influence of social conditions in a particular region on the professional self-determination of young people remains poorly understood. Solving the problems of professional self-determination of schoolchildren requires the synthesis of personality-oriented and socially-oriented pedagogical approaches. The article examines the factors that determine the professional self-determination of school graduates and analyzes the conditions and patterns of schoolchildren’s professional selfdetermination, together with the potential of their influence on educational strategy by regional universities. The research hypothesis is that, when providing pedagogical support for professional self-determination of pupils, it is necessary to take into account both their personal characteristics and individual motives, as well as socio-economic factors that determine the choice of educational strategy. The research used comparative analysis, classification, generalization, an inter-disciplinary review of literature and socio-economic statistics, a sociological survey, and expert assessments. The main results are the description of models of professional self-determination of school graduate based on their awareness, values, self-efficacy assessment, and the justification of the principles of career guidance. A survey of school graduates in the Ulyanovsk region in 2018-2019 (n=2075) showed that a significant number of graduates lacked professional plans and knowledge about regional universities and universities in other cities. The study revealed the professional interests of school graduates and their plans for educational migration from the region. School graduates did not justify their choice of a career and educational strategies by their professional interests, but rather on their desired standard of living upon graduation. It established that the quality of education at the university is not a determining factor for potential applicants. As actors in the regional educational space, professional education organizations can have a greater impact on the processes of professional self-determination of high school students. The results indicate the importance of regional socio-economic conditions for professional selfdetermination of school graduates, their educational strategy and choice of university. The study confirmed that their professional self-determination follows the principles of the Social Cognitive Career Theory.

The problem and the aim of the study. The problem that the study is aimed at is due to the need to change forms and methods of professional self-determination support for students in the digital society in order to prepare them for obtaining the specialization that is in demand and for the formation of the ability “to be able to learn" throughout the life. The authors purpose for the efficiency of career guidance in a digital school an approach that does not imply the development of a qualitatively new information resource, but that maximizes the spectrum of didactic capabilities of universal information technologies (spreadsheets, databases, etc.). Research methods. The analysis of fundamental scientific works on the problem of personal professionalization and the usage of information technology in planning the trajectory of career development were used to obtain theoretical generalizations. Spreadsheet processing technology is used as a universal digital technology. The study involved 109 students of the Institute of land reclamation, water management and construction named after A. N. Kostyakov and 25 undergraduates in the direction of 44.04.01 Pedagogical education (master's level) of Vyatka state University. To process the results of the pedagogical experiment, we used the analysis of arbitrary contingency tables using the Pearson χ2 (chi-square) criterion. Results. The essence of the concept of "universal digital technology" as a technology implemented with the help of modern technical means and intended for a wide range of users has been clarified. The stages of work in a software environment that supports the appropriate technology and is used in career guidance activities of a digital school are described: application of methods for diagnostics, determination of selection criteria for professions of the future, drawing up a system of tasks, etc. In the experiment the dynamics was assessed by the levels of formation of intellectual qualities, the most significant for professional self-determination of the personality, and statistically significant differences in qualitative changes, were revealed χ2obs. 2 > χ2crit.0.05 (8,9 > 5,99). In conclusion the authors generalized recommendations for educators: orientation in the proposed means; demonstration of capabilities through personal experience and for the professional tasks of specialists; monitoring a range of digital resources for career planning; comparing the needs of society with the opportunities, interests of students, etc.
