ABSTRACT: This descriptive study aims to analyze students' creative thinking skills in natural science at SMPN 6 in Tanjungpinang. A total of 119 students were being samples in this study. Data collected by test and observation. The issue of environmental pollution becomes a contextual topic to facilitate student tests and responses. From this study, it was known that students have good abilities in the aspects of fluency and flexibility in creative thinking. However in the originality and elaboration aspect are still in the sufficient category. Contextual issues of environmental pollution give support to the results of students' creative thinking abilities. However, the results obtained shows that learning strategies and learning resources are also important points in developing students’ creative thinking skills.

Empowerment of creative thinking skills is important in every lecture activity, including practicum. This study aimed to analyze students' creative thinking skills in Plant Microtechnique practicum. This research used descriptive method in which the participants were the seventh semester biology education students (n=20) of State University of South Sumatera, Indonesia. The student has taken Plant Microtechnique Course in the previous semester. The instrument used was essay test developed based on creative thinking indicator. The data were processed by calculating the percentage for each indicator and categorized into three levels (i.e., low, medium, and high). The findings revealed that students’ creative thinking skills in Plant Microtechnique laboratory practices were medium for fluency indicator, and low for flexibility, originality, and elaboration indicators. Therefore, it is necessary to revise learning strategies that support the empowerment of students' creative thinking in Microtechnique Laboratory practices.

This research is motivated by the lack of critical thinking skills and the ability to think creatively mathematical mathematical students. This study reviews, Upgrades Critical Thinking Mathematical and Thinking Skills Creative Mathematical and differences between students who apply Learning Strategies Relating, Experiencing, Applying, Cooperating, and Transferring (REACT) with students who received conventional learning models, and relationships critical thinking skills and mathematical creative thinking ability of students. The method used in this study is a mixed methods embedded type. The study population were students of class X SMK Pasundan I Cianjur enrolled in the academic year 2015/2016. The samples used were two classes of 14 existing classes. The instrument used to collect data in the form of instrument test critical thinking skills and the ability to think creatively mathematically, attitude scale, observation and interview sheet. Data were analyzed using mean difference test ie t-test (quantitative) and descriptions (qualitative). The results showed that Improvement of critical thinking skills of students who apply strategies Learning Relating, Experiencing, Applying, Cooperating, and Transferring (REACT) better than students who use learning models conventional.

Purpose of Study: Creative thinking skills are indispensable for the investigation of a problem, finding and analyzing facts and data in solving the problem. The role of creative thinking in learning to prepare students to be a problem solver. The lack of empowerment of the creative thinking skills of students in the biology classroom can be caused by the non-optimal application of learning strategies. Methodology: This study was a quasi-experimental study designed to explore the effect of GI learning strategies, TTW, GITTW, and conventional learning in empowering creative thinking skills of students in high school. The research sample was 162 students of X grade of science majors SMA Muhammadiyah 1 in Surabaya, Indonesia academic year 2015/2016. Creative thinking skills of students measured by essay test given at the beginning and end of the study. Results: The results showed that the application of learning strategies affected the creative thinking skills of students. GITTW learning strategy can maximize the creative thinking skills empowerment. Also, note that the strategy TTW could improve creative thinking skills were higher than GI and conventional strategy. Implications/Applications: The GITTW strategy can be considered to be used by teachers as a learning strategy to empower creative thinking skills.

Problem solving, creative thinking, and reasoning skills are important skills for students to master to solve various problems that they will face in the future. However, there are still many students that have relatively low ability levels performing these three skills. To improve students' abilities in these three skills, teachers can use learning strategies that incorporate visual learning media. The problem identified in a class of third graders at a public elementary school (SDN 01) in Jagakarsa was the lack of use of learning media in the learning process in the classroom so students' ability in all three skills was less developed. A research study was conducted to determine the increase in problem solving skills, creative thinking skills, and reasoning skills of third grade students at SDN 01 Jagakarsa in math subjects after being taught using instructional media. Data sources were obtained from students' test scores before and after being taught using visual learning media. Based on the N-gain calculation and data analysis using inferential statistics, results showed that the use of visual learning media can improve students' ability to solve problems, think creatively, and reason, especially in mathematics subjects.
