Abstract There have been several research studies that discussed verb phrases. But only some researchers analyse the X-bar theory concerning regional languages in Riau. The author attempts to demonstrate the structure of verb phrase in the Malay dialect of Kampar by using the X-bar theory.This study aims to find and analyse the rules structuring verb phrases contained in the Malay dialect of Kampar. This research was conducted through a field observation by using the descriptive method. According to the findings of the study, it is found that the principles for creating verb phrase structures in Kampar dialect were. 1) FV ---> V+N, ŋikIʸ umpʷIɁ ‘(me)motong rumput’/ Cut the grass; 2) FV ---> V+Spes, bagoɣaɁ lo ‘memasak’/ cook; 3) FV ---> Spes+V, ola makan ‘sudah makan’/ have got the food; 4) FV ---> NEG+V+Spes, ndaɁ dataŋ do ‘tidak datang’/ did not come; 5) FV ---> V+V, paʸ makan ‘pergi makan’/ get to eat;  6) FV ---> Adj+V, paya ŋasʷoňo ‘susah mengasuhnya/menjaganya’/ its hard to take care of; and 7) FV ---> V, motoŋ ‘menoreh/menyadap karet’/ tap the rubber. This  study focuses on the use of vocabulary in tajuk rencana of Kompas. Ultilization of certain vocabulary by newspaper can form a reality or different views on a thing or event. Through this research, the writer tries to observe how the use of vocabulary in shaping the public’s view or called the construction or reality, so that it is illustrated that vocabulary in a medium plays an important role in shaping the understanding of the audience or readers. The problem that is focused is “How is the reality contruction through the use of vocabulary in tajuk rencana of Kompas?” By doing this research in the end the writer can describe the utilization of vocabulary that forms a certain reality. From the data found in this study, it can be concluded that the use of vocabulary in tajuk rencana of Kompas  based on constructing a positive reality and image to the government, many thing or events are describe classification vocabulary, which tend to benefit the government and marginalize other parties. So, it is clear that there is a practice of language in every sense.

A person's character is very dependent on the environment in which they live and grow into adulthood. This study seeks to reveal one of the indicators of children's character, namely language politeness, especially in the school environment. The purpose of this study was to determine the reality of the condition of language politeness of children to their teachers and schoolmates, to find out the factors that cause language politeness deviations, and to find out the efforts made by schools in dealing with these deviations. This research is a qualitative research that produces descriptive data. Research subjects include teachers and students. The results showed that there were still some children who experienced deviations in language politeness to their teachers and school friends, namely in the form of reluctance to use polite language speech, mutual ridicule/verbal bullying between school friends using the names of parents and the profession of parents, and the unfavorable influence of social media.

This research aimed at knowing the influence of students’ extrinsic learning motivation toward their learning achievement on Business Economics subject at Vocational High School of Muhammadiyah 2 Pekanbaru.  This research was instigated by students who could not reach the minimum standard of passing grade, so their learning achievement was not yet maximum.  It was a quantitative research.  The subjects of this research were the eleventh-grade students of Accounting 1 and 2 and Marketing.  Questionnaire and documentation were the techniques of collecting data.  The technique of analyzing the data was simple linear regression test.  Based on the research findings, it could be concluded that there was a significant influence of students’ extrinsic learning motivation toward their learning achievement on Business Economics subject at Vocational High School of Muhammadiyah 2 Pekanbaru.  It was proven by the comparison between robserved and rtabel, it was obtained that robserved was higher than rtabel at 5% and 1% errors (0.202<0.664>0.263), so H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted.  The contribution of the influence of students’ extrinsic learning motivation toward their learning achievement was 44.1%, and the rest (100%-44.1%=55.9%) was influenced by other factors that were not discussed in this research.

This study aims to determine the effect of giving incentives to the discipline of economics teachers in carrying out assignments at SMA Negeri 12 Pekanbaru. The population is 8 teachers, because the population is small, the authors make the population as a sample. Data collection techniques that the author uses are questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. And the data processing technique that the author uses is a simple linear regression formula and product moment correlation with the help of the SPSS version 16.0 program. Based on the presentation and analysis of the data, it is known that the provision of incentives has a significant effect on the discipline of economics teachers in carrying out their duties at SMA Negeri 12 Pekanbaru. This is evidenced by the results of the analysis that observation = 0.938 is greater than Rtable at a significant level of 5% (0.838 > 0.707) this means that Ha is accepted, Ho is rejected. ro observation = 0.938 is greater than Rtable at a significant level of 1% (0.938 > 0.834) This means that Ha is accepted, Ho is rejected. Thus it can be concluded that there is a significant effect between the provision of incentives on the discipline of economics teachers in carrying out their duties of 0.881 X 100% = 88.1%.

This research is qualitative research using a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques in this study using Interview Techniques, Documentation, and Literature Studies. The systematics of strategy formulation refers to five stages. These stages include: (1) Environmental identification (2) Conducting internal and external environmental analysis by measuring strengths and weaknesses as well as opportunities and threats, (3) Formulating key success factors of strategies designed based on the previous analysis, (4) Determining measurable goals and targets, evaluating various alternative strategies by considering the available resources and external conditions faced, (5) Selecting the most appropriate strategy to achieve short-term and long-term goals. This study shows the results of several strategies to increase learning Self-Regulated Learning for Arabic Language Education students at the Universitas Islam Riau as follows; 1) Using a Student-Centered learning (SCL) approach in learning, 2) Using a Net-centric approach in learning media, 3) Building student awareness about Self-Regulated Learning on an ongoing basis, 4) Using E-learning applications that can encourage and stimulate students carry out Self-Regulated Learning, 5) Coordinate between Permanent Lecturers of Study Programs in the formulation of Semester Learning Plans for the core courses of study programs, 6) Create an Arabic language environment, 7) Conduct reward programs for student achievements, 8) There is lecturer guidance for students who will compete. The Covid19 pandemic that came suddenly has demanded a radical change in the learning system. Many are not ready for the change in the system, schools are constrained in providing services to their students, as well as the way teachers provide learning to their students. This problem is also faced by guidance and counseling teachers in providing services to their students. The purpose of this study was to uncover guidance and counseling teacher services, student responses, and barriers to guidance and counseling services during the Covid19 pandemic. The method used is a qualitative approach to the phenomenological model. The results showed that the guidance and counseling services provided by teachers during the Covid19 pandemic were not optimal. Student responses in receiving services vary. Each subject experienced different obstacles, most students were constrained in taking virtual lessons, did not have cellphones, did not have laptops, the ability to buy credit was very limited, and internet network access was unstable so that students became constrained in learning.

The big challenge in the world of education during the Covid 19 pandemic is overcoming the difficulties of implementing online learning, and what is equally important is building and increasing student motivation during the Covid 19 pandemic. Having good motivation in learning will show good results so that in expect an increase in the quality of learning as mandated by the National Education System Law Number 20 of 2003 national education which aims to educate the nation's life and improve the quality of learning This type of research is descriptive quantitative research. The sampling technique used is simple random sampling. The population in this study were students of Unisla management study program. Data collection techniques used a questionnaire using a Likert scale. The analysis tools used were validity and reliability analysis to determine the reliability of a questionnaire used in the study. In this study also used correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis, t test and F test assisted by the IBM SPSS Statistics version 25 software for windows. The results showed that the learning independence variable partially had a positive and significant effect on the learning motivation variable. The lecturer competence variable partially has a positive and significant effect on the learning motivation variable. The variables of independent learning and lecturer competence simultaneously have a significant influence on student learning motivation variables. The percentage of the influence of the independent learning variable and lecturer competence on student learning motivation shows a value of 72.2% and the remaining 27.8% is influenced by variables other than variables X1 and X2.

The purpose of this study was to determine the critical thinking skills of students in the Accounting Education Study Program, Islamic University of Riau. This research is a type of quantitative descriptive research. The population and sample of this study were all students of the 5th semester of the 2020/2021 academic year, totaling 48 people. Collecting research data using documentation study techniques, and analyzed using descriptive analysis. The results showed that the critical thinking skills of Accounting Education students, on average, had good abilities. However, there are still some students who have a low critical thinking category. This is due to; 1) Some students are still formulating questions that are classified as CI and C2. 2) Students tend to answer questions briefly, without providing further explanation. 3) Students still use reasons that focus on the words of the book or take it directly from the internet without examining it first. Therefore, students must be encouraged to improve their abilities in critical thinking.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengamalan kehidupan sosial keagamaan masyarakat muslim di Riau. Sasarannya adalah masyarakat muslim di Kota Pekanbaru dan Kabupaten Kampar sebagai pusat penyebaran penduduk mayoritas muslim. Sehingga subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah masyarakat muslim Riau yang diwakili dengan sampel yaitu masyarakat kota Pekanbaru dan masyarakat Kabupaten Kampar yang dianggap mewakili dikarenakan mayoritas penduduknya beragama Islam. Sedangkan objek yang akan diteliti dan menjadi fokus pada permasalahan utama dalam penelitian ini adalah pengamalan kehidupan sosial keagamaan pada masyarakat muslim Riau tersebut. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif yang akan mengungkapkan fenomena secara deksriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik kepustakaan, observasi dan dokumentasi. Sedangkan untuk analisis datanya menggunakan analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini memberikan kesimpulan bahwa pengamalan kehidupan sosial keagamaan masyarakat muslim di Riau sudah berjalan dengan baik dan semestinya. Artinya masyarakat muslim Riau sudah mampu mengamalkan nilai-nilai keagamaan di dalam setiap sendi kehidupan sosial bermasyarakat.
