The article provides a report about the George Roerich Annual International Meeting, the conference dedicated to the memory of Yu. N. Roerich. The papers read offer a coverage of a rich selection of topics as well as chronology and geography. However, the papers had in common that the research subjects they dealt with, did all pertain to the interests of the outstanding scholar George Roerich. The speakers were invited to give an answer to the question regarding the phenomen of the genesis of meanings in culture. This provided sufficient ground for a wide interdisciplinary discussion of the theoretical problems regarding generating texts and formation of culture as a philosophical phenomenon.

The research reveals a profile of reflective thinking of elementary school students in problem solving fractions based on his mathematical abilities. The instruments used in data collection is Test Problem Solving (TPM), interview. Selection of research subjects in a way given test is based on the ability of mathematics, namely mathematical skills of high, medium and low and further categorized and taken at least 2 people to serve as subjects. The research objective is: describe the profile of reflective thinking that math skills of elementary school students High, medium, and low. Based on the results of the study found reflective thinking profile and high ability students were as follows: (a) the step to understand the problems students have information/knowledge or data that is used to respond, comes from inside (internal) and can explain what has been done; (B) the planned step problem solving students have information/knowledge or data that is used to respond, comes from inside (internal) and can explain what has been done; (C) on measures to implement the plan in terms of information/knowledge or data used by students to respond, comes from inside (internal), could explain what has been done, realized the error and fix it, and communicate ideas with a symbol or image, and (d) the checking step back, namely information/knowledge or data that is used by students to respond, comes from inside (internal) and can explain what has been done. Profile of reflective thinking ability students lowly mathematics, namely: (a) at the stage of understanding the problem, students can determine known and asked in the problem, but the students' difficulties to explain the identification of the facts that have been done, the students explained the understanding vocabulary, and feel of existing data the matter is enough; (B) at the stage of implementing the plan, the students explained, organize and represent data on the issue, describes how to select the operation in solving a problem though students are not sure, and students' difficulty in explaining what he had done; (C) at the stage of implementing the plan, the student has information on calculation skills although the answer is not correct. Students difficulty in explaining about the skills calculations have been done, trying to communicate their ideas in the form of symbols or images, even if students rather difficult to describe, and realized there was an error when using a calculation skills and improve it; (D) at the stage of check, students' difficulties in explaining whether obtained estimates it approached, it makes senseKeywords: reflective thinking, problem solving, fractions, and math skills.

ABSTRAKAKI di Indonesia terus meningkat, SDKI 2007 menunjukkan AKI sebesar 228 per 100.000, tahun 2012 menjadi 359 per 100.000 kelahiran hidup. Salah satu faktor masih tingginya AKI karena relatif masih rendahnya pertolongan oleh tenaga kesehatan yakni hanya sebesar 55,4%. Tujuan penelitian untuk mendeskripsikan kepercayaan masyarakat terhadap penolong persalinan di wilayah Halmahera Utara. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan metode FGD (Focus Group Discussion). Subjek penelitian sebanyak 26 informan yang terdiri dari 7 ibu yang melahirkan dengan pertolongan dukun bayi, 2 orang suami, 3 orang tua, 4 tokoh masyarakat, 6 dukun bayi dan 4 orang bidan yang dipilih dengan kriteria inklusi. Analisis data menggunakan content analisis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa informan lebih memilih dukun bayi sebagai penolong persalinan karena informan percaya dukun bayi lebih berpengalaman dalam menolong persalinan, dukun bayi juga dinilai lebih perhatian dan sabar dalam melayani pasiennya. Pemilihan dukun bayi sebagai penolong persalinan berkaitan dengan pelayanan yang diberikan dan kepercayaan masyarakat itu sendiri.Kata Kunci: Penolong Persalinan, Kepercayaan, Dukun Bayi.ABSTRACTMMR in Indonesia continues to increase, IDHS 2007 shows MMR of 228 per 100,000 in 2012 to 359 per 100,000 live births. One factor is still high maternal mortality rate due to relatively low relief by the health provider only by 55.4%. The aim of research to describe people's confidence in birth attendants in the region of North Halmahera. This type of research is qualitative. Data were collected using FGD (Focus Group Discussion). Research subjects were 26 informants consisted of 7 mothers who gave birth with the help of TBAs, 2 husbands, 3 parents, 4 community leaders, 6 TBAs and 4 midwives chosen by the inclusion criteria. Analysis of data using content analysis. The results showed that the informant preferring TBAs as birth attendants because informants believe TBAs are more experienced in attending births, TBAs are also considered more attention and patience in serving patients. Selection of TBAs as birth attendants associated with the services provided and the trust of society itself. Keywords: Delivery Helper, Confidence, TBAs.

The qualified teacher is teacher who has the standards of educator that has capability of their materials according to the standard of the contents and carry out the learning process according to the standard of the process. Learning Implementation Plan (LIP) is the administration prepared teachers before carrying out the learning process. This research aims to know the quality of the LIP who made by teachers. This research is a descriptive qualitative. The data were collected through questionnaire, document’s noting, and interviews method. The research subjects are vocational teachers in SMK Negeri 1 Cilegon. The results of this research shows that (1) the completeness of the components 63.63; (2) conformity between components 85.7; (3) feasibility of competence 100; (4) feasibility of the indicators and the achievement of basic competencies 100; (5) feasibility of the learning objectives 80; (6) formulate learning objectives 75; (7) choosing and organizing the learning material 80; (8) feasibility of the learning activities 84.6; (9) selection of learning methods 100; (10) selection of media, tools and learning resources 85.71; and (11) the feasibility assessment 85.7, so that the average was 85.5 with good qualifications. The LIP is structured properly can increase the effectiveness of learning in the classroom and improve the quality of teaching and graduates are in accordance with the needs of the ASEAN Economic Community.


The research addresses the selection process for the naval pentathlon team of the Naval Academy. Hypothesis: The motor performance criterion in the selection of athletes is not enough, and the performance in training and competitions can be improved if athletes’ attitude towards and motivation for performance are added to the selection. Subjects: The basis for selecting the research subjects were military students who had already passed a first stage of selection when being admitted to the military institution. Methods: Bibliographical study, pedagogical observation, experiment, questionnaire survey, mathematical and statistical method, graphical method. The first stage was oriented towards the selection of a group of 30 subjects (out of 200) using psychomotor performance as a criterion, and the second stage was focused on selecting the representative team of the Naval Academy by means of two opinion questionnaires meant to reveal the subjects’ attitude towards and motivation for performance and competition. Results: We identified the group of 15 athletes who met the conditions of having good motor skills and an optimal attitude towards the preparation for performance within a rigorously planned training system, with coaching sessions designed to facilitate the maximisation of their performance. Conclusion: The selection process will be oriented towards the subjects with specific motor skills in swimming, running and utilitarian routes, but also with real potential for training – improvement of these skills and development of good exercise capacity, all this facilitated by a proper attitude and motivation.

This research is conductem by the high participation of the community to visit the TBM Sumber Ilmu. TBM Sumber Ilmu activities under control of Payakumbuh SKB, consists of selection of location, socialization, availability of facilities and infrastructure, placement time, implementation of management and condition of the book collections. This research is designed as descriptive quantitative research. The research subjects are the visitors of TBM Sumber Ilmu. The results of this research are expressed most of the visitors stated that all the aspect-selection of the location, socialization, availability of facilities and infrastructure, placement time, implementation of management and the condition of the books collection are very good.

The SPSS 2019 meeting gathered the thoughts and findings of scientists, professionals and individuals from different countries working in different research fields. INTRODUCTION: In orthodontics, determining the facial type is a key element in the prescription of a correct diagnosis. In the early days of our specialty, observation and measurement of craniofacial structures were done directly on the face, in photographs or plaster casts. With the development of radiographic methods, cephalometric analysis replaced the direct facial analysis. Seeking to validate the analysis of facial soft tissues, this work compares two different methods used to determining the facial types, the anthropometric and the cephalometric methods. METHODS: The sample consisted of sixty-four Brazilian individuals, adults, Caucasian, of both genders, who agreed to participate in this research. All individuals had lateral cephalograms and facial frontal photographs. The facial types were determined by the Vert Index (cephalometric) and the Facial Index (photographs). RESULTS: The agreement analysis (Kappa), made for both types of analysis, found an agreement of 76.5%. CONCLUSIONS: We concluded that the Facial Index can be used as an adjunct to orthodontic diagnosis, or as an alternative method for pre-selection of a sample, avoiding that research subjects have to undergo unnecessary tests.

AbstractDespite much attention, aboriginal governments in Canada have not yet been the focus of comprehensive, sustained and focussed research on the part of the academic and aboriginal communities. In this article 14 areas which require study are cited under three major headings: aboriginal communities and their governments, the components of governance and the wider policy environment. These clusters of research subjects are related in a systematic fashion. A selection of the literature is placed in context and practical suggestions for fostering co-operative approaches to research are suggested. Throughout, it is argued that a critical focus for such efforts on the part of political scientists, other scholars and analysts should be placed on the needs, experiences and goals of aboriginal peoples and their governments.

AbstractThis study aims to describe students’ learning difficulties in the Indonesian language learning process at the senior high school. The research subjects were students of SMAN1 Klaten, SMAN 1 Karangnongko, and SMAN 1 Karangdowo. The data were collectedby means of tests and interviews. They were analyzed using qualitative and quantitativedescriptive techniques with the AnBuso computer program. The results of the dataanalysis show that the students have difficulties in: the language sub-competenciesof structure (61.07%) and vocabulary (52.6%); the language competencies of listening(41.88%), speaking (18.89%), reading (21.15%), and writing (20.02%); and the literarycompetency at the levels of information (45.69%), concepts (40.9%), perspectives (41.74%),and appreciation (47.1%). These show that the difficulties are evenly distributed on thevarious components of learning materials, both for language and literary competencies, sothat the solutions must be comprehensive including the selection of learning methods.Keywords: learning difficulties, competencies, Indonesian language
