The phenomenon of non-Muslim leaders in Indonesia has given pros and cons in society. Those pros and cons do not only appear among the general public but also appear among students. This study analyzes the views of Muslim students at ‘Aisyiyah University Yogyakarta (UNISA) about the phenomenon of non-Muslim leaders in Indonesia. This research became important considering the last two issues that have emerged in the study of Islam in Indonesia, namely religious intolerance and moderation in few years. The type of this research is mixed qualitative-quantitative field research. The research findings show that there are two kinds of views of UNISA Muslim students about non-Muslim leaders; First, Muslim students who disagree about non-Muslim leaders. They argue that choosing a leader must be based on his/her religion first. This group believed that Islam is the main non-negotiable requirement for someone who wants to run for a leader. Some of them even firmly stated that choosing a non-Muslim leader is categorized as haram. Second, Muslim students agree and do not object to the existence of non-Muslim leaders. The second group believed that religion is not an absolute issue as the requirement for a person who wants to become a leader. This second group argues that track records are more important than religion or ethnicity. The educational background of students also influences their views. Students with religious education backgrounds tend to be more accepting of differences. On the other hand, students who have a general educational background tend not to easily accept differences. Therefore, it can be concluded that the better a person understands religion, the more tolerant of differences he/she will be.

Human rights are defined as normative social representations embedded in institutional juridical definitions. Research findings show that human rights can be studied as normative social representations implying a degree of common understanding across cultures together with organized differences within and between cultures. Important factors in modulating individual positioning in the realm of human rights are experiences of social conflict and injustice, beliefs about the efficiency of various social actors to have rights enforced and attitudes of liberalism or collectivism. On the other hand, an ethnocentric use of human rights is well documented and has been experimentally studied. Generally, concerns about these rights expressed by citizens of Western countries become much stronger when non-Western countries are involved, whereas violations of these rights in their own country are often not severely condemned.

This paper provides five clear, relatable examples that can help students understand the distinction between the term “factors” and “mechanisms” in Developmental Psychology. The examples emphasize the idea that factors are related to changes in ways that moderate development, but are not causal. On the other hand, the term mechanism refers to processes that produce change. These examples can be embedded in lectures individually or shared as a whole to support student learning. A precise understanding of the distinction between factors and mechanisms can help students better understand development, parse research findings, and consider policy and practical implications.

From the beginning of Islam, hadith maudhu 'or false hadith is a very crucial issue. Prophet Muhammad  SAW reminded his Companions through his Hadith "whoever lies on me, be prepared to occupy a place in hell". Nevertheless, the flow of maudhu' hadith never stops. This indication one of them can be seen in the increasingly widespread spreading of false hadith, until today. On the other hand, it can also be seen from the side of the eradication effort, which never stopped by the ulama in various regions. This study conducted in the form of field research, taking a relatively small location, in one kecamatan. The sample 5 villages in Peureulak sub-district, East Aceh district. The respondents of this study are the Mubalighs who considered to know the hadith maudhu', and also know the development of the spread of hadith maudhu' in society. The results of this study include, among others, efforts made by the ulama in Peureulak Sub-district in order to anticipate the spread of hadith maudhu 'among others: to conduct counseling and special study on the science of Hadith, in which alluded to the hadith maudhu'; in addition the scholars also provide direction and reprimand to the preachers who make hadith maudhu' as a reference when they do da'wah in society.

This article aims to map the polarization in Indonesia between Christian Education (or: Christian Religious Education) as it takes place within the domains of church and of school. Within the ecclesial arena, Christian education (Pendidikan Kristiani/PK) is often associated with the activity of teaching children. On the other hand, within the setting of a school, PK is often associated with a course of study assigned to students—one that mostly emphasizes the filling of cognitive gaps for the students yet (intentionally) ignores the affective and psychomotor domain that is integral for instruction. By examining this polarization, I argue that the polarizing divide between PK as implemented in a school and PK as implemented in the church can be overcome by virtue of the fact that both school and church are learning spaces for PK. This article is divided into three parts. The first will demonstrate certain misunderstandings about PK in the context of school and of church that lead to polarization. The second part shows how PK is presently practiced in the context of Indonesia’s churches and schools. Based on descriptions in this second part, the final section will offer a number of basic principles, in an effort to bridge the gap between PK as it takes place in school and in church.

Abstract: Not a few Muslim communities in Indonesia reject the concept of pluralism, even the MUI itself has issued a special fatwa on the prohibition of this understanding. They assume that pluralism is against Islam, because there is a tendency to equate Islam with other religions. Pluralism is also widely understood as a form of ideology that seeks to justify all religions. Thus, people can change religion as they wish at any time, like people change clothes. Contemporary era Indonesia also witnessed a polemic around this issue. Misunderstanding of the concept of pluralism has at some level created two poles of Islamic understanding between the pros and cons of this concept. Nahdlatul Ulama’ (NU) and Muhammadiyah were even divided internally in their communities. This article will examine through a review of Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh) related to the meaning and nature of pluralism. This research becomes relevant because in addition to the polemic that still exists in this concept, on the other hand the diverse social realities of Indonesian society, also requires an understanding that needs to prioritize tolerance and respect for differences.Keyword: Islamic Jurisprudence, Pluralism

It is knowledge because all of its activities must be driven by scientific research findings, whereas it is artistic because of its applications on how the teaching is creative and singning a good impression. In order to this distinctive purpose, the good teaching need to several methods based on comprehensive and interdiciplinary research findings. This paper examines the influence of cognitif strategy and mind manipulation on Arabic language teaching. The finding shown by this paper is that the influence of both cognitif strategy and mind manipulation is significant. The significance of cognitif strategy is led by a number of actitivites i.e. practicing, receiving and delivering knowledge, analysing and concluding, arranging an input and output. In the other hand, the significance of mind manipulation is identified by a way the information is taken out, or the influencing on the subconscious is conducted, and by hypnotism and cultivation of ideas.
