The students were selected randomly. They are 20 students of class XI MIA 1 as the experiment class and XI MIA 4 as a control class. The research analysed the data statistically data collection. The result of data analysis shows that the experimental class (86) is higher than the mean score of the control class (69). The deviation score of experimental class (8.75) is higher than of the control class (5.37). So, the result of t-counted (1.644) which is higher than t-table (0.081). in analyzing the data, the researcher used 0.05 level of significance and the degree of freedom (df=10+10-2) it means that the hypothesis of the research was accepted. Therefore, the Folklore Story can improve students’ reading comprehension.

The objective of this research was to find out if there is a significant influence of YouTube based video toward students’ achievement in writing recount text. This research is used quasi experimental design. The population of this research was the first students of SMK Daruttaibin Ciwadas Pabuaran. The cluster random sampling was used to take the sample. The sample was two classes, X Pemasaran 1 as the experimental class and X Pemasaran 2 as the control class. The experimental class consisted of 22 students and the control class consisted of 20 students. The instrument of collecting data was pre-test and post-test. From the data analysis, the student’s score of the experimental class in the post test was higher than the students in the pre-test. The mean score of posttest in the experimental class 74.7 was higher than mean score of the control class 67.5. It was found that the result statistic calculation, it was obtained that the value of Tvalue was 1.94 and degree of freedom (df) is 40. In the table of significance 0.05 the value of the significance was 1.68, comparing those values, the result was 1.94>1.68 which means Tvalue score. It means that there is significant influence toward students’ writing skill between the students who were taught using YouTube based video and those who were not. In conclusion, the Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted.

The instrument used for collecting data was test.  The data analysis showed that mean of pretest was 37,94 in experimental group and 33,68 in control group. The result of t-test of pre-test was 2,444 and t-critical was 1,684 in level of significant .05. And the mean of post-test was 74,52 in experimental group and 68,39 in control group. The difference between the two mean score is 6.13. The mean of the control group is lower than the experimental one. In which the highest score was 52 and the lowest score was 20 in control group and experimental group. From the data analysis, the writer got findings. The mean score of experimental group was 74.52 and the mean score of control group was 68.39. after applying the ANCOVA formula, it indicates that F-value was 4.117 and the critical value with the level of significance .05 was 4.00. The finding shows that students’ achievement of reading in posttest (after treatment) of experimental group was higher than control group. It was found out that summarizing technique was effective in reading achievement.

To obtain the data, the writer gave pre-test and post-test as the instrument. The result showed that the significant different between the students’ score in experimental class and control class. It could be seen from the result of mean of different for each of class in which the mean of difference score in experimental class was 26,38 while the mean of difference score in control class was 11,38. It showed the mean of difference score in experimental class was higher than the control class (26,38 > 11,38). It also could be seen from the result of the t-test score. The result of t-test score in the experimental class was 11,63 while the result of t-test score in control class was 3,44. It showed the t-test score on the experimental class was higher than control class (11,63 > 3,44). Meanwhile, the result of t-table with the level of significance with Df (ɑ) 5% (0,05) was 2,03. It indicated that the t-test score (to) of both of the experimental class and control class was higher than t-table (tt). there are : (11,63 > 2,09) and (3,44 > 2,09).
