The aim of this research was to determine the effect of Cirripedia sp. flour as feed substitution of protein source in feed on the digestibility of dry matter and organic matter in 100 male rex broilers. The research was experimental by using a completely randomized design with four treatments and five replications. Substitution of Cirripedia sp. flour respectively in feed were 0%, 2.5%, 5%, 7.5% given for four weeks. Data collection was carried out in the fourth week (for seven days) which included consumption data, manure weight and analysis of treatment feed and manure analysis. The data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance and the difference between treatments was determined by the Duncan test. The results showed that there was no significant difference (p>0.05) and that there was no significant difference (p>0.05) on the digestibility of rex broilers. This shows that the substitution of Cirripedia sp. flour in feed can replace animal protein sources in fish meal in complete feed rabbits.Key words : Cirripedia sp, digestibility, feed subtitution, flour, rabbit.

ABSTRACTThis study aims to determine the digestibility of dry matter and organic matter level waste silage mixed vegetables and Gliricidia leaves were tested in vitro. This study used a completely randomized design with 3 treatments and 3 replications. Each of these treatments is R0 (Gliricidia leaves 100%), R1 (Gliricidia leaves 70% + 30% silage vegetable waste), and R2 (Gliricidia leaves 40% + 60% silage vegetable waste). Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and further testing using the test Honestly Significant Difference (HSD). The results of ANOVA showed that the mixture of vegetable waste silage was highly significant (p <0.05) on dry matter digestibility and significantly (p <0.05) on the digestibility of organic matter. It can be concluded that the mixed of vegetable waste silage and Gliricidia leaves can improved digestibility of dry matter and organic matter, treatment of 40% and 60% Gliricidia leaves plus waste vegetable produce silage dry matter digestibility and percentage of organic matter is best (72,24% and 68,19%).Keyword: Silage vegetable waste, gliricidia leaves, dry and organic matter digestibilityABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kecenaan bahan kering dan bahan organik tingkat campuran silase sampah sayur dan daun gamal yang diuji secara in vitro. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan 3 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Masing-masing perlakuan tersebut ialah R0 (daun gamal 100%), R1 (daun gamal 70% + silase sampah sayur 30%), dan R2 (daun gamal 40% + silase sampah sayur 60%). Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis sidik ragam (ANOVA) dan uji lanjut menggunakan uji Beda Nyata Jujur (BNJ). Hasil analisis sidik ragam menunjukkan bahwa campuran silase sampah sayur berpengaruh sangat nyata (p<0,05) terhadap kecernaan bahan kering dan berpengaruh nyata (p<0,05) terhadap kecernaan bahan organik. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa perlakuan campuran silase sampah sayur dan daun gamal dapat meningkatkan kecernaan bahan kering dan bahan organik, perlakuan 40% daun gamal dan 60% silase sampah sayur menghasilkan persentase kecernaan bahan kering dan bahan organik yang terbaik yaitu (72,24% dan 68,19%).Kata kunci : Silase sampah sayur, daun gamal, kecernaan bahan kering, dan bahan organik.

ENERGYANDPROTEIN DIGESTIBILITY OF BROILER CHICKEN CONSUMING MAGGOT (HERMETIA ILLUCENS) MEAL SUBSTITUTING FISH MEAL IN THE DIETS. As an animal feed, maggot from black soldier fly (Hermetia Illucens) has high protein and fat content. Yet, little is known about the digestibility of energy and protein in the diet containing maggot. The present study was conducted to determine the effect of substitution of fish meal with maggot meal in the diets on energy and protein digestibility of broiler chicken. Twenty chicks were assingned to each dietary treatment which was replicated four times in a completely randomized design (CRD). Tretaments were formulated as follow: R0 = 100% fish meal (15% in the diet) + 0% maggot meal (0% in the diet); R1 = 75% fish meal (11,25% in the diet) + 25% maggot meal (3.75% in the diet); R2 = 50% fish meal (7.5% in the diet) + 50% maggot meal (7.5% in the diet); R3 = 25% fish meal (3.75% in the diet) + 75% maggot meal (11.25% in the diet); and R4 = 0% fish meal (0% in the diet) + 100% maggot meal (15% in the diet). Parameters measured were energy and protein digestibility. Energy and protein digestibility were calculated using the indicator (internal lignin) method. All data was submitted to the ANOVA procedure for completely randomized design. Differences were considered significantat (P< 0.05). The results showed that dry matter, energy, and protein digestibility were increased significantly (P < 0.05) compared to R0, R2, R3, and R4. No significant difference (P > 0.05)  were found among R0, R2, R3, and R4. It can be concluded that the maggot flour is best used to the level of 25% replacing fish meal or 11.25% in the ration. However, the result of this study indicate that maggot flour can be used up to 100% replace fish meal in broiler chicken rations without any negative effect on digestibility of dry matter, energy, and protein. Good quality animal feed was a determining factor for the success of livestock industry. Maggot BSF had the potential as a promising protein source feed. The aimed of this researceh was to investigate digestibility of crude protein, dry matter, organic matter of BSF maggot flour. The maggot was kept in media of fermented palm oil coir (FPOC) with dose of fermenter 1, 3, 5%. The maggot processed into flour and fed to kampong chickens. The reseach was conducted experimentally using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 5 replications. The treatments were: M0 (fish meal), M1 (Maggot FPOC 1%), M2 (maggot FPOC 3%) and M3 (maggot FPOC 5%). Based on the results of the study, it was found that BSF had a significant effect (P <0.05) on protein digestibility (M0 = 75.70, M1 = 63.03, M2 = 73.32, and M3 = 56.24), a very significant effect (P <0.01) on the digestibility of dry matter (M0 = 64.72, M1 = 44.08, M2 = 44.26, and M3 = 37.43), and the digestibility of organic matter (M0 = 68.59, M1 = 45, 32, M2 = 48.08, and M3 = 47.47). Maggot flour from FPOC 3% produced good crude protein digestibility in kampong chicken compared to FPOC 1% and 3% .

Objective of this study was to evaluate the ingestive behavior, feed efficiency, and nutritional and physiological parameters of sheep that were fed diets based on byproducts from the processing of cashew. The experiment was conducted in a completely randomized design with a 4 × 2 factorial arrangement with four levels of inclusion (6 %, 11 %, 16 %, and 21 % of cashew byproduct) and two forms of processing—with chemical treatment (CT) and without chemical treatment (NCT). The interaction levels of inclusion of the byproduct of cashew versus chemical treatments was not (P>0.05) for the dry matter intake, consumption of organic matter. No effect was observed (P>0.05) for the intake of dry matter in function of the type of chemical treatment used in the byproduct of cashew. There was no effect of interaction (P<0.05) between levels of inclusion and chemical treatment applied or not on the byproduct of cashew for the coefficients of digestibility of dry matter, organic matter and crude protein (P>0.05). The inclusion of the byproduct of cashew did not influence the behavioral parameters, intake and digestibility of the diets of sheep, being recommended to use up to the level of 21%.

Shrimp culture in the floating cage is expected to reduce the utilization of land and its possible negative impact to the environment. The advantages of shrimp farming in the sea include the high dissolved oxygen concentration and the better meat quality. This research aimed to enhance the production performance of shrimp through the utilization of periphyton as a natural feed for shrimp. A completely randomized design with 3 treatments (in triplicates) were applied in this experiment, i.e floating cage without perishel (control), floating cage with PE perishel and PA perishel. Shrimp with body weight of 2.5 ± 0.2 g were stocked at the initial density of 2,000 shrimp in each cage, and maintained for 90 days. No significant difference was observed in the survival amongst treatments. The lowest feed conversion ratio (1.74) and coefficient of variance (3.21) were showed in treatment PA. The highest attachment and abundances of periphyton were found in treatment PA. It was concluded that the addition of perishel inside the floating cage may contribute as natural feed source for the shrimp and thus increase the production performance of shrimp. Keunggulan laut untuk budidaya udang, antara lain adalah kadar oksigen terlarut relatif tinggi sehingga tidak perlu kincir, dan mutu daging udang yang dihasilkan relatif lebih baik. Penelitian ini ditujukan untuk meningkatkan kinerja produksi dan memanfaatkan kesuburan perairan laut berupa perifiton sebagai pakan alami bagi udang. Penelitian ini terdiri atas tiga perlakuan, yakni: (A) kontrol (tanpa perishel), (B) jaring benang nilon (PE), dan (C) jaring benang serabut pendek (PA 6.6), masing-masing perlakuan terdiri dari tiga ulangan. Udang dengan bobot 2,5 ± 0,2 g ditebar sebanyak 2.000 ekor perwadah, dan dipelihara selama 90 hari. Hasil analisis kinerja produksi menunjukkan bahwa kelangsungan hidup tidak berbeda nyata antarperlakuan. Nilai konversi pakan terendah diperoleh pada perlakuan jaring benang PA dengan nilai 1,74. Nilai koefisien keragaman terendah diperoleh pada perlakuan jaring benang PA dengan nilai 3,21. Penempelan dan kepadatan perifiton yang cukup baik diperoleh pada jenis perishel jaring benang serabut pendek PA. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa dengan penambahan perishel sebagai shelter dan penumbuh perifiton diperoleh hasil produksi yang baik. Udang dapat memanfaatkan keberadaan perishel dalam wadah pemeliharaan sebagai tempat berlindung dan memperoleh makanan tambahan berupa pakan alami yang menempel pada perishel. The study aims to evaluated the value of dry matter and organic matter digestibility of feed containing corn cob fermented by MOIYL on local rabbit. Research conducted at Desa Bandar Klippa Deli Serdang, North Sumatera Province, in January – March 2018. The study used 20 local rabbit with initial weight 404,4 gram ± 9,14 and design experiment used completely randomized design (CDR), which consists of 4 treatments and five replications. The treatment consisted of ration P0= unfermented ,P1=10%, P2= 20, and P3= 30%. Variable measured were consumption of dry matter and organic matter, digestibility of dry matter and organic matter. The Results showed that fermented of corn cob with probiotics MOIYL provide a significant effect (P<0,01) increasing corn cob fermented by MOIYL to the level 30% increase dry matter and organic matter digestibility. The conclusion of this study is corn cob fermantation by probiotics MOIYL till the level 30% can increase the digestibility of dry matter and organic matter on local rabbit.

ABSTRACT UTILIZATION OF FERMENTED WATER HYACINTH (Eichhornia crassipes) IN DUCK DIETS ON DRY MATTER AND ORGANIC MATTER DIGESTIBILITY.The study aimed to determine the use of fermented water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) (FWH) in duck dietson dry matter and organic matter digestibility. This study was carried out for three weeks using 20 crossbred ducks of Mojosari and Alabio (MA), 8 weeks of age. This study was conducted using a completely randomized design with 5 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments were R0 (0% FWH), R1 (10% FWH), R2 (20% FWH), R3 (30% FWH), R4 (40% FWH). Results showed that treatments was highly significant (P<0.01) affectedto dry matter and organic matter digestibility. Honestly significant difference test (HSD) on dry matter digestibility showed that there were no significant between treatment R0 (70.85%), R1 (71.08%), R2 (70,47%) and R4 (69.47%). The R3 diet was significantly higher than R4, but was not significantlydifferentbetween R0 and R1. The HSDtest on organic matter digestibility showed that there was no significant difference between R3 (76 27) and R0 (75.30%), R1 (75.43%) and R2 (775,17%), but R3 was significantly higher than R4 (74.13%). There were no significant differencebetween  R0, R1, R2, and R4 diets. It can be concluded that fermented water hyacinth reach can be used till 30% in duck diet substituted to rice bran. This study aimed to test the level of dry matter and organic matter mulberry natural food and Gliricidia at Ettawa goat crossbreed (PE) males. This research was conducted in March and April 2016 in the village Ranomentaa Toari District of Kolaka. The material used is 12 PE male goats aged 4-6 months with a body weight of 10.44 ± 1.13 kg. Research compiled by complete randomized design (CRD) 3 treatments and 4 replications, P1 (100% mulberry), P2 (50% and 50% mulberry Gliricidia), P3 (100% Gliricidia). The parameters observed were dry matter intake (DMI), organic matter intake (OMI), dry matter digestibility (DMD) and organic matter digestibility (OMD). The data obtained were analyzed using ANOVA with F test (P <0.01 and P <0.05), when there is a continued effect with least significant difference test (BNT). Dry matter consumption and OMI highly significant (P <0.01), while DMD and OMD not significant (P> 0.05) as a result of treatment. DMI highest average at P3 (295.41 grams), in line with the highest OMI on P3 (271.21 grams). While the percentage DMD and OMD each ranging between 39.82 to 41.23% and from 40.55 to 43.87%. The absence of the effect of treatment on DMD and OMD caused by the degradation rate of the different natural feed caused by the content of crude fiber (CF) and lignin as well as anti-nutritive substances in the forage. Based on the results of the study concluded that the DMI and the best OMI on Gliricidia, but had no effect on DMD and OMD

This research aimed to study effect of Corn cob fermentation using Panerochaeta chrysosporium with adding the different sources of carbohydrat on the digestibility of dry matter, organic matter, and crude protein by in-vitro methode. A Completely Randomized Design  with 4 treatments and  4 replications. The treatments  were : P0 = fermented corncobs + without carbohydrt, P1 = fermented corncobs + 10% rice bran; P2 = fermented corncobs + tapioca flour 10%; P3 = corncob fermented + molasses 10%. The results of this study shown a very significant affected  (P <0.01) on the digestible of dry matter and organic matter but no affected (P> 0.05) on crude protein digestibility. The best results  digestibility of dry matter (66.98%) on the  P3 treatment adding  molasses, and  the highest digestibility of organic matter (67.49%) on the P3 treatment too, but the highest digestibility of  crude protein (51.37%)  in P1 treatment (adding by rice bran)

A research was conducted to evaluate the effects of concentrate utilization in Guinea grass (Panicum maximum) ration on dry matter and organic matter digestibilities. Twelve male local goats were used in this experiment and located in individual pens. Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatments and three replicates was used. The treatments were R1 = 100 % guinea grass, R2 = 75 % guinea grass + 25 % concentrate, , R3 = 50 % guinea grass + 50 % concentrate, and R2 = 25 % guinea grass + 75 % concentrate. The results showed that effects on dry matter and organic matter digestibilities were high significantly different among treatments (P < 0.01). Ration without concentrate was significantly lower compared to ration with concentrate;. It can be concluded that the best dry matter and organic matter digestibilities were on 75 % concentrate in the ration Key words : Guinea grass, concentrate, digestibility, dry matter, organic matter, and local goats
