The article deals with sociological understanding of the value system of Russian young people and its role in ensuring spiritual and moral safety of the society. The authors of the article focus on priority importance of spirituality, morality for preservation of specifically human features in the individual and normal functioning of the society. The regulating function of the value-based system is manifested in the fact that values form the standards of cultural assessments in the youth community, determine the hierarchy of young people’s life goals and the choice of methods for achieving them. Any social changes may have both positive and negative character, in exactly the same way values acting as a catalyst for changing the consciousness of young people may become not only an accelerating factor of social transformations, but also a retarding one. Basing on the results of the analysis of the most important spiritual and moral values of young people, the authors of the article conclude that reappraisal of values is a complex and difficult process, and on the whole it is indicative of a low level of spiritual and moral safety. This is due to the fact that in the mass consciousness of Russian young people there take place processes of rethinking the facts of modern life, new changes, collapse of former ideals and orientations, and the search for new value orientations. The transitional period crisis, which has lasted for many years in the Russian society, and the destructive processes in all its spheres are the main reason why the problem of ensuring spiritual and moral safety in the context of the formation of moral capacities in young generations of Russians has long been urgent in our society.

The current stage of development of Russian society is characterized by rather intense and serious socio-economic, industrial, legal and spiritual-moral changes. These changes, due to the characteristics of mental development, have the greatest impact on the personality of young people and their behavior. The paper considers the problem of the value orientation of contemporary youth in Russia. The psychological characteristics of the person have been determined, in relation to which various value orientations are formed from the point of view of E. Fromm’s concept, and their role in vocational formation. The authors have proved the integrity, the integration of the value system with other personality characteristics, as well as the differences in individuals regarding the orientation to “Being” or “Possession”. The conclusions have been drawn that the nature of the value orientation of young people in contemporary Russia is complex. Values are divided into blocks according to the spheres of human life and are subject to the more general law of their dominant orientation - “Being” or “Possession”. Accordingly, the nature of personality orientation determines the formation and development of value groups.

Youth is a dynamically developing social group that actively participates in the reproduction process of the social and professional structure of society. The complication of production processes and rapid scientific and technological progress increase the importance of this social group in Russian society. This scientific article attempts to study the level of implementation of career guidance in the system of educational work of an educational institution of secondary professional level. Using a system-synergetic approach and various methods of scientific research, the authors revealed not only the state of the problem under consideration but also determined the relevance of such research in contemporary conditions. Based on the obtained data, a theoretical universal model of educational work has been developed, which assumes the formation of value orientations among young people in the course of its implementation. The student professional development model concerning the educational activities of the College consists of three interrelated units: target, substantive-operational, and evaluation- performance blocks. The model provides self-development of the individual through the cardinal renewal of all the above-mentioned components, and the formation of general cultural competencies. The main advantage of the created model is the development of complete professionalism through the implementation of career growth mechanisms in students, as well as the orientation of young people to actively search for innovative conditions for professional self-actualization and civic-mindedness.

The article is devoted to the problem of spiritual and moral education of personality in the conditions of modern Russia. Some aspects of the existing meaning of life attitudes, spiritual and moral characteristics of society are considered, ways of solving problems of a legal and moral nature in conditions of social changes are proposed. Particular attention is paid to examining the relationship between morality, law and patriotism in the system of personal perception. In modern conditions, great attention must be paid to monitoring the spiritual and moral characteristics of Russian society, its moral and ethical state. Specific data from such studies will make it possible to draw a conclusion taking into account specific territories, forming a visual “matrix” with territories where improvements are needed in relation to spiritual and moral values. The results of sociological research will help to see exactly where such work is needed. This is especially true of patriotic education, forms and methods, according to which it is recommended to carry out this kind of activity. In the process of creating methods, it is necessary to abandon the experience of building patriotism based on ineffective measures, without taking into account the historical specifics and specific statistics. It is important to take into account the situation on the ground, public opinion, the presence or absence of a systemic crisis, the situation in the field of human rights. In addition, it would be very useful to create patriotic applications on smartphones, where it would be possible, in a game or other form of active interaction, to gain knowledge about Russian history, heroic deeds of the past, and about the prospects for people with developed moral and ethical qualities. Outside of the separation from digital technologies, it is possible to give meaning to life not only to young people, but also to those who are already of age, by teaching them how to use the latest digital technologies and take advantage of high-speed Internet. It is necessary to create a complex toolkit, which would take into account all aspects of the conditions and circumstances under which effective and comprehensive patriotic and spiritual and moral education is possible.

The research reflects on the contribution of the humanitarization of education in solving the problems of fairness in contemporary Russian society. The authors reveal the concepts of humanitarization of education and fairness, as well as analyze the relationship between the humanitarization of education and the crisis of value system, justifying the importance of creating conditions for the development of a humanitarian personality who has the competencies needed for orientation, and who is capable of self-actualization in the contemporary socio-cultural space. The authors attempt to explain the relationship between the process of humanitarization of education and the mechanism of achieving social fairness in Russian society. The research presents the attitude of individual stakeholders of educational services to the humanities in the university curricula. At the end of the research, the conclusion is made about the need for making joint managerial decisions by the federal executive authorities and educational institutions of Russia to enhance the role of higher education institutions in forming the population’s value system, as well as moral qualities of the individual.

The problems of an individual’s socialization have always been relevant, but in the conditions of deep transformation of social institutions of the Russian society, they have become particularly acute and important. The radical nature of the reforms have determined the features of the social state, which consist in the formation of a fundamentally new social reality. The transition to a market economy and consumer society has led to a radical change in the world outlook, values, and value orientations of the population. In these conditions, new approaches to the socialization of the individual, the formation of qualities, and value orientations corresponding to the market society are necessary. The purpose of the article lies in determining the initial principles of human socialization in the changed Russian society based on the analysis of existing approaches in scientific knowledge. For this purpose, the authors have employed the methods of analysis and comparison of existing concepts of socialization. This article presents an analysis of socialization theories of domestic and foreign researchers, analysis of economic and socio-cultural factors in the formation of a new system of values and value orientations in Russian society. The scientific novelty of the article consists in the proposal to consider a balanced combination of individualism and collectivism as the initial principles of personal socialization in the process of forming new values and value orientations of individuals, as well as to consider the socialization of the individual in relation to the socialization of economic relations. The choice of a balanced and harmonious combination of individualism and collectivism as a guideline for the socialization of the individual in the transformed Russian society allows us to build a new system of socialization. This requires new methods of socialization of the individual, new ideological and value content of the social space.

The decline in the share of social and humanities at technical universities is one of the most dangerous trends in modern education. In modern Russian society, there is a deep gap between political activity and active political communication with young people, bringing information to this target audience. Political leaders are the force that is able to convey to people values and guidelines, the meaning of life, to show the way to the future, to lead for the implementation of the necessary changes in the social, political, and economic life of society. However, the established methods of communication are not effective, as a generation has grown up with different social ideas about political leaders and other communication needs. This article is devoted to the study of the interaction of political leaders with young people through the mass media at the current stage of development of Russian society. The paper considers the theoretical foundations of the research of the youth audience. As a result of a comprehensive study, the author revealed the awareness of young people about current politicians. The article takes as a basis the names of politicians from the top 100 most influential politicians in Russia, according to the Agency for Political and Economic Communications. The first part of the research is devoted to the study of the value orientations of modern youth. The paper reveals the problems in communication between modern politicians and young people, investigates the information channels used by young people to receive current political news. The most important source of political information for the youth audience is the Internet and social networks. This is due to the increasing role of social networks in the global communication processes in general, as well as the involvement of the youth audience in the media consumption of social network content. Young people see the greatest communication problems in the status and financial gap between current politicians and youth groups, as well as the difference in value orientations and the age barrier. For a comparative analysis of the data, the sample was divided according to the criteria of age (respondents were divided into three age groups) and gender.

A educação ambiental (EA) surgiu num contexto de mudanças sociais evidenciadas por volta de 1960. A princípio, a EA favorecia apenas o aprendizado de conceitos ecológicos. Mais tarde, em decorrência de uma redução da disponibilidade de recursos naturais, o foco da EA passou a se estabelecer no contexto cidadão e democrático. O objetivo da EA passou a ser o de transformar o indivíduo, estabelecendo um criticismo junto aos problemas socioambientais permitindo assim a tomada de decisões na promoção do desenvolvimento sustentável. Desde então, a EA tem sido vista como um caminho para mudanças atitudinais. Neste contexto, a interdisciplinaridade como uma estratégia de diálogo entre saberes passou a ser essencial nos trabalhos visando a EA. O propósito desse trabalho é apresentar contextualizações e reflexões sobre o surgimento e a importância da EA, atualmente caracterizada como um importante fator de transformações sociais, exigindo que profissionais da educação trabalhem esta temática numa perspectiva interdisciplinar. Environmental education (EE) emerged in a context of social changes evidenced around 1960. At first, EE favored only the learning of ecological concepts. Later, as a result of a reduction in the availability of natural resources, the focus of EE started to be established in the citizen and democratic context. EE's goal has been to transform the individual, establishing a criticism with the socio-environmental problems, thus allowing decision-making in the promotion of sustainable development. Since then, EE has been seen as a path to attitudinal change. In this context, interdisciplinarity as a strategy of dialogue between knowledge has become essential in the works aimed at EE. The purpose of this work is to present contextualization and reflections about the emergence and importance of EE, currently characterized as an important factor of social transformations, requiring education professionals to work this subject in an interdisciplinary perspective. La educación ambiental (EA) surgió en un contexto de cambios sociales evidenciados alrededor de 1960. Al principio, la EA sólo favoreció el aprendizaje de conceptos ecológicos. Más tarde, como consecuencia de una reducción de la disponibilidad de recursos naturales, el foco de EA pasó a establecerse en el contexto ciudadano y democrático. El objetivo de EA pasó a ser el de transformar al individuo, estableciendo un criticismo junto a los problemas socioambientales permitiendo así la toma de decisiones en la promoción del desarrollo sostenible. Desde entonces, EA ha sido vista como un camino para cambios actitudes. En este contexto, la interdisciplinariedad como una estrategia de diálogo entre saberes pasó a ser esencial en los trabajos hacia la EA. El propósito de este trabajo es presentar contextualizaciones y reflexiones sobre el surgimiento y la importancia de la EA, actualmente caracterizada como un importante factor de transformaciones sociales, exigiendo que profesionales de la educación trabajen esta temática desde una perspectiva interdisciplinaria.

One of the most important features of a modern personality, its inner core that determines its value orientations and attitudes, is patriotism. Ideological orientation, ideological, social and moral maturity of the individual find their concrete embodiment in patriotism. Despite the importance of the formation of patriotism among young people is determined at the state level, the solution to this problem is still urgent. It is on this basis that education in a modern school should be directly related to the understanding of the essence of citizenship and patriotism.
