This study aims to describe the learning of leadership characters in the 4th grade social science subject at state elementary school Purwomartani, Kalasan, Sleman, Yogyakarta. This was done because Indonesia seems to have lost its good leadership character which could become an example for children. This research is qualitative with data collection using observation, interview, and documentation techniques. Data analysis was performed through data reduction, data presentation, verification, and conclusion. The results showed that there are several leaders discussed in the 4th grade textbook of elementary school with the theme "My Hero" in social sciences subject. These leaders have different leadership characters, namely (1) the courage to defend truth, justice and expel colonialism are the characters of Prince Diponegoro, Sultan Hasanuddin, Cut Nyak Din, and Pattimura, (2) the spirit to unite the nation is a character of Gadjah Mada and Soekarno, (3) being persistent in teaching and establishing educational institutions are character of Ki Hajar Dewantara, (4) struggling to never give up and being willing to sacrifice to defend Indonesia's independence are the character of Bung Tomo, and (5) being able to realize the objectives of Indonesia's independence and inspire the younger generation are the character of President Soekarno. These findings have implications for learning social science subject with the theme of my hero, beginning with telling the leadership characters of the figures to be role models for students in their life.

This study aimed to improve students’ learning outcomes through the STAD model aided by Scrapbook media in theme 7 "The Beauty of Diversity in My Country" in the content of Indonesian Language and Social Sciences subject of fourth grade of elementary school. The method used in this study was classroom action research conducted in fourth grade of elementary school, which numbered 19 students. This research was conducted in two cycles, each cycle consisting of four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation and reflection. Data collection was obtained through tests, observations, interviews and documentation. The results showed that an increase in students’ learning outcomes in the cognitive aspect of cycle I gained a classical completeness of 63.16%, then an increase in cycle II gained a classical completeness of 78.95% in Indonesian Languange Subject.  In the Social Science subject,  cycle I received a classical completeness of 52.63% and increased in cycle II gained 73.69% classical completeness. Psychomotor domain of students’ learning outcomes also experienced an increase when Indonesian Language cycle I gained an average of 72.28% and increased in cycle II by 77.31% with good criteria. In the Social Science, cycle I obtained an average of 72.63% and increased in the cycle II by an average of 80.94% with good criteria. It can be concluded that the application of the STAD learning model assisted by Scrapbook media can improve student learning outcomes in the cognitive and psychomotor domains.

Pasambahan a Minangkabau society how to speak, the speech full of philosophy which delivery indirectly. This turned out to be complicated understood by some people who did not understand the pasambahan. In the present study, the authors sought to express the values of the philosophy contained in pasambahan as how to speak the traditional Minang community. As time goes, these traditions are disappearing from everyday society, for it needs a way to preserve it back. Pariaman is one area that has always practiced this tradition. In this study, the authors attempted to peel pasambahan text in a manner which according to the author deconstruction approach is one approach that is very controversial in the social sciences today. The process of data analysis by using some theories of social science (eclectic). Among the pragmatic theory and semiotics. The method used in the form of qualitative observation, the authors go directly spaciousness and interact with competent informants. From the discussion, the authors found ten diplomatic elementscontained in tradition and pasamabahan text. These elements in them, '' opener, apology, positioning/element of certainty, stringsattached, request (permission), receipt, delivery destination, contracts/agreements/agreements, offers, and resolver ''.

Sekolah alam adalah sekolah yang kegiatan pembelajarannya tidak hanya terpaku di dalam kelas, tetapi juga memanfaatkan alam sekitar atau lingkungan sebagai objek pembelajaran. Pembelajaran matematika pada sekolah alam dilakukan sebagai upaya untuk menumbuhkan jiwa siswa menjadi lebih kreatif dan mandiri. Penelitian yang dilakukan bertujuan untuk mendiskripsikan bagaimana pelaksanaan pembelajaran matematika di Sekolah alam Ma’had Islam Pekalongan. Informan adalah kepala sekolah, guru matematika kelas IV dan V sekolah alam SD Ma’had Islam. Teknik dalam pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi dan wawancara. Analisis datanya meliputi pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pelaksanaan pembelajaran matematika di Sekolah alam SD Ma’had Islam dilakukan di dalam kelas dan di luar kelas. Ketika di dalam kelas menggunkan metode ceramah dan tanya jawab. Saat di luar kelas (out door) lebih banyak menggunakan metode pemberian tugas dan game (bermain) serta memanfaatan bahan-bahan yang ada di Alam, guna memahamkan siswa sesuai dengan materi yang diajarkan oleh guru matematika.ABSTRACTA natural school is a school whose learning activities are not only fixed in the classroom, but also utilize the natural surroundings or the environment as objects of learning. Mathematics learning in natural schools is done as an effort to grow students' souls to be more creative and independent. The research carried out aims to describe how the implementation of mathematics learning in Pekalongan's Ma'had Islam School of Nature. The informants are the school principal, mathematics teacher grades IV and V of the natural school Ma'had Islam elementary school. The technique in collecting data uses observation and interviews. Data analysis includes data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the implementation of mathematics learning in the natural school of Ma'had Islam Elementary School was done in the classroom and outside the classroom. When in class use the lecture and question and answer method. When outside the classroom (out door) use more methods of giving assignments and games (playing) and utilizing materials available in Nature, in order to understand students according to the material taught by mathematics teachers.


SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) is an innovative computerized programming for statistical analysis, specially developed for the social sciences research. Now a day, it is widely used particularly in the huge data analysis. SPSS is a software through which researcher can understand the human behavior, the role and influence of the organization, etc. including the analytic thinking of several indicators of society in a scientific way. Currently, this software is widely exercised by the business hubs, market analysis agencies, and educational institutions and even by the government itself. Simply, we can aver that it assists the researcher in concerning to the documentation of the data. It is a full package software encompasses all forms of statistical analysis which is efficaciously able to convert the quantitative data to qualitative analysis. This present paper is an effort to understand the usability, difficulties and shortcomings of the SPSS software in the social science research.

<em>The study aimed: (1) to describe the application of scientific approach with video, (2) to improve social science learning, (3) to describe the constraints and solutions. The research was collaborative classroom action research (CAR) conducted in three cycles. The subjects were teacher and students. The data collection techniques were tests, and non-tests. Data analysis included data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that: (1) the steps to the application of scientific approach with video in improving social science learning were watching video, asking questions based on video, collecting information from video, reasoning based on video, communicating; (2) the application of scientific approach with video improved social science learning. It was proved by the increasing of average percentages of students’ mastery. They were 87.50%  in the first cycle, 90.63% in the second cycle, and 93.75% in the third cycle; (3) the obstacles were: the students were passive in asking questions, the students were confused during presentations, the students paid less attention to video, the students were passive during discussion, the students were chatting when the teacher explained. The solutions were: the teacher gave motivation to ask questions, the teacher gave instructions before the presentation, the teacher warned the students to pay attention to the video, the teacher asked the students to work together in discussions, the teacher warned the students to pay attention to the teacher's explanation.</em>

The research aims to find out description of parents economic and social status students achievement. This research is based on quantitative approach; the population is all students of SMPN in Sebangau district, coming from three schools. The sample is all students of SMPN 4 Palangkaraya. As the procedure, data collection used questionaire to abtain the students’ social and economic status; test is used to measure the students’ achievement in social science subject. The test is multiple choice. The data analysis is based on SPSS and the formula is Spearman correlation. The research result  states that the parents’ social and economic status of the students are different. The result test says that students’ achievement are considered good. It can be concluded that there is no correlation between Parents’ Economic and Social Status and Student’ achievement. In a word, the hypothesis is rejected.Key words:  Economic and Social  Status,  Achievement, and Correlation

This study aims to determine the effect of leadership and work discipline partially, and the effect of leadership and work discipline simultaneously on employee performance at Dinas Pendidikan Kota Banjarmasin.This research uses quantitative methods. The data used in this study consisted of primary data and secondary data. The population of this research is the employees of Dinas Pendidikan Kota Banjarmasin, amounting to 102 people. Sampling uses probability sampling. The technique of data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires to 51 respondents from Dinas Pendidikan Kota Banjarmasin employees who were obtained using the Slovin formula. The data analysis technique used is multiple linear regression to determine the effect of leadership and work discipline on performance in Dinas Pendidikan Kota Banjarmasin using Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS) version 21.00 for windows.The results of the study concluded that the leadership and work discipline variables partially affect the performance of employees at the Banjarmasin City Education Office. The results of the study concluded that the variables of leadership and work discipline simultaneously affect the performance of employees at Dinas Pendidikan Kota Banjarmasin.

<pre><strong>Abstract:<em> </em></strong>The purpose of the study is to describe the application of the model FNP and IOC to improve the social skills and the learning outcomes of student class IV SDN 3 Besuki. Type of this research was PTK that includes two cycles. Research was conducted at SDN 3 Besuki, the subjectof this research is the students of class IV SDN 3 Besuki amounted to 32 people. Data collection: observation, interview, test, questionnaire, and documentation. The techniques of data analysis: reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The result of this research shows that the increased in social skills and the students learning outcomes in cycle I with a good criteria and increased to very good on the cycle II. The increase also occurred in the implementation of learning by teachers and students on the each cycle. </pre><strong>Abstrak:</strong> Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan model <em>F</em><em>NP </em>dan <em>IOC </em>untuk meningkatkan keterampilan sosial dan hasil belajar siswa kelas IV SDN 3 Besuki. Jenis penelitian PTK meliputi dua siklus<em>. </em>Penelitian dilakukan di SDN 3 Besuki, subjek penelitian siswa kelas IV berjumlah 32 orang. Pengumpulan data, meliputi observasi, wawancara, tes, angket, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data, meliputi reduksi, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil pemelitian menunjukkan terjadinya peningkatan keteranpilan sosial dan hasil belajar siswa siklus I dengan kriteria baik dan meningkat menjadi sangat baik pada siklus II. Peningkatan juga terjadi pada pelaksanaan pembelajaran oleh guru dan siswa pada masing-masing siklus.

This research aims to describe the implementation of holistic education in Muhammadiyah Sleman Elementary School Yogyakarta. This research combined theoretical and empirical research. This was a qualitative research. The paradigm in this research was interpretive paradigm, while the research approach was phenomenology. Data collection techniques in this research were observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was by interactive model of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion or verification. The results of this research conclude that the implementation of holistic education in Muhammadiyah Sleman Elementary School has developed six human potentials, which are: cognitive, emotional, social, spiritual, creativity, and physical. These six aspects are developed harmoniously. All dimensions of children’s development occur simultaneously and integrated, each does not stand alone, and also the development of one aspect is influenced by other aspects.
