The purpose of this study is to analyze the economic potential in order to increase employment in the city of Surabaya. Compilation of mapping analysis of economic potential in employment in Surabaya will use two basic research designs, namely Exploratory and Descriptive Research which is carried out in stages. From the results of the calculation of the Location Quotient index (base and non basis), the Differential Shift component (internal growth component), and the Proportional Shift component (external growth component) as well as the sectoral typology of economic sectors explains that there are three potential sectors in the Surabaya City area namely: Transportation Sector, Accommodation Provision Sector, and Information Sector. While the economic sector according to the business field, the highest economic growth was achieved by the business of the Provision of Accommodation and Food and Drink followed by the growing Information and Communication business field and finally the Construction business field.

This study aims to determine the leading economic sectors of the Balikpapan City in preparing for the New Capital City of Indonesia. This phenomenon is related to the management of leading sectors in the concept of article defense economy. Where the utilization of leading economic sectors are part of national resources as an effort to improve the standard of living of the people can improve welfare, create security stability and strengthen national defense. This study uses secondary data in the form of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) of Balikpapan City and East Kalimantan Province in 2016-2018. This research uses a quantitative approach to analyze the data collected. The analytical tools: 1). Location Quotient (LQ) analysis can be used to determine the basis and non-base sectors in the economy of Balikpapan City. 2). Shift Share Analysis is used to determine changes and shifts in the economic structure of the City of Balikpapan. The results of the analysis of 17 sectors based on the two analysis tools show that the leading and potential sectors in the City of Balikpapan are the transportation and warehousing sector; processing industry; information and communication.

Abstract Development must be viewed as a multidimensional process that includes a variety of fundamental changes to social structure, attitudes of the community, and national institutions, while continuing to pursue accelerated economic growth, handling income inequality, and alleviating poverty.The expected research objective is to analyze the leading sectors and employment in Gorontalo Regency so that the benefits of this study are expected: 1) as a reference in policy making related to the leading sector development strategy and Manpower Absorption in Gorontalo District, 2) can provide an overview of various potential existing sectors as an option to become workers so that they can provide their income every year in Gorontalo Regency, 3) can provide information and become an opportunity for investment investment which is the biggest part of available labor shelter in Gorontalo District.The Analysis Method used in this study is Location Quotient (LQ) to determine the role of the sector in the reference area (Gorontalo Province). And the results of the study indicate that the results of several economic sectors in Gorontalo Regency have economic (base) advantages: Sector mining and quarrying, Processing Industry Sector, Electricity and Gas Procurement Sector, Construction Sector, Information and Communication Sector, Financial Sector and Sector which have high employment absorption are Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture, Processing Industry Sector. Abstrak Pembangunan harus dipandang sebagai suatu proses multidimensional yang mencakup berbagai perubahan mendasar atas struktur sosial, sikap-sikap masyarakat, dan institusi-institusi nasional, di samping tetap mengejar akselerasi pertumbuhan ekonomi, penanganan ketimpangan pendapatan, serta pengentasan kemisikinan.Adapun tujuan penelitian yang diharapkan adalah untuk menganalisis sektor unggulan dan penyerapan tenaga kerja di Kabupaten Gorontalo sehingga manfaat penelitian ini diharapkan : 1) sebagai acuan dalam pengambilan kebijakan terkait dengan strategi pengembangan sektor unggulan dan Penyerapan tenaga kerja di Kabupaten Gorontalo, 2) dapat memberikan gambaran dari berbagai potensi sektor unggulan yang ada sebagai pilihan untuk menjadi tenaga kerja sehingga dapat memberikan pendapatan mereka pada setiap tahunnya di Kabupaten Gorontalo, 3) dapat memberikan informasi dan menjadi peluang bagi penanaman isvestasi yang menjadi bagian yang terbesar bagi penampungan tenaga kerja yang tersedia di Kabupaten Gorontalo.Metode Analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Location Quotient (LQ) untuk menentukan besarnya peranan sektor tersebut pada wilayah referensi (Provinsi Gorontalo).Dan hasil Penelitian menujukkan bahwa telah diperoleh hasil beberapa sektor ekonomi di Kabupaten Gorontalo mempunyai keunggulan ekonomi (basis) adalah :Sektor pertambangan dan penggalian, Sektor Industri Pengolahan, Sektor Pengadaan listrik dan gas, Sektor konstruksi, Sektor Informasi dan komunikasi, Sektor Keuangan dan Sektor yang memiliki kontribusi penyerapan tenaga kerja yang tinggi adalah Sektor Perikanan, Kehutanan dan pertanian, Sektor Sektor Industri Pengolahan.

Economic growth had resulted in a shift on economic structure. Structural transformation was a process of economic structure shift from primary to secondary sector, as the case happened in Bekasi District. Structural or economic transformation from traditional to modern in general could be regarded as a shift related to the change of composition and sectoral contribution to the GDP of a region. This structural process could be achieved by paying attention to the sectors that have specialization, competitive and comparative advantages that would become a priority in the economy. The purpose of this research was to analyze the structure and the changing of economic sectors, to identify any potential sectors in each development region of Bekasi District. The research was conducted in Bekasi District, West Java Province. This study used qualitative design with a case study technique. The data gathered was then analyzed using the Location Quotient, Classical Shift Share and Esteban Marquillas Shift Share. The research results showed that in the period of 2004-2010, while the economic structure shift had not yet seen in the development region I, it had already happened in development regions II, III and IV. Based on the combined analysis it was found that the potential economic sectors which had a high competitiveness, had a competitive advantage, able to specialize, as well as having a comparative advantage in each development area of Bekasi District were as follows: for agriculture and transportation sector, the development region I, II and IV had the potential; mining sector was only potential in the region I; industrial sector was only potential in the region II; building development sector could only be found in the development region II and IV, for trade sector, the region IV proved to be potential; financial sector was only potential in development region II. Gross Regional Domestic Product (PDRB) is the amount of gross added value arising from all economic sectors in the region. It aims to help formulate regional policies, plan and evaluate development results, and provide information that can describe the regional economic performance. The purpose of this research is to analyse sustainable economic sector in Probolinggo district east Java province – Indonesia. A sustainable sector means a sector that is currently included as a basis and will remain a basis sector in the future even if the growth is slow or fast. The analytical methods used include analysis of Location Quotient (LQ), Dynamic Location Quotient (DLQ), and Klassen Typology. Of the 17 economic sectors that contributed to the PDRB of Probolinggo district, with the results of the LQ analysis, 7 sectors were in basic categories and 10 sectors were in non-basic categories. Results of the comparative analysis of LQ and DLQ indicates that there are 5 leading sectors, 2 prospective sectors, 6 mainstay sectors, and 4 lagging sectors. The results of the classification typology analysis consisted of 3 fast-growing and fast-growing sectors, 7 sectors is growing fast, 4 advanced and slow-growing sectors, and 3 relatively lagging sectors. From the three analysis results, it can be seen that the sustainable sectors are agriculture, forestry, and fisheries (second rank ); electricity and gas procurement sector (first rank); water supply, waste management, waste and recycling sectors (third rank); health service sector and social activities (fourth rank); other service sectors (rank fifth); processing industry sector; construction sector; transportation and warehousing sector; the accommodation and food and drink provision sector; information and communication sector; and the education services sector.

AbstractSoket Laok is a village located in Tragah District, Bangkalan Regency, Madura. This village has the greatest economic potential in agriculture because the majority of its residents, which are around 4000 people, work as farmers. However, the village, which is not far from the city of Surabaya, is still lagging behind and has not been able to properly utilize the village's potential for community empowerment. Cashew product is the greatest potential by the residents of Soket Laok Village, but the community does not understand how to create and design proper packaging for their cashew products. In addition, Soket laok community also has no experience and knowledge utilising information and communication technology to optimalise the marketing of the cashew products. Therefore, the Communications Department of FISIP Unair conducts a community service program entitled Branding Workshop for Economic Empowerment of the Cashew Farmer in Soket Laok Village, Bangkalan Regency, Madura. This program is an extended program that has been carried out in 2020. Meskipun demikian, desa yang berada tidak jauh dari Kota Surabaya tersebut masih tertinggal dan belum mampu memanfaatkan dengan baik potensi desa untuk pemberdayaan masyarakat. Produksi mente merupakan potensi terbesar yang dimiliki oleh warga Desa Soket Laok namun para petaninya sendiri belum mengerti cara mengemas produk mente untuk dipasarkan di luar daerah Soket Laok sesuai dengan standar yang berlaku. Ditambah lagi dengan kurangnya pemahaman terkait penggunaan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi juga menjadi faktor kurang optimalnya pemasaran produk mente. Dengan berbagai alasan tersebut, Departemen Komunikasi FISIP Unair kembali mengadakan pengabdian masyarakat bertajuk Pelatihan Branding dalam Rangka Pemberdayaan Ekonomi Masyarakat Petani Mente Desa Soket Laok, Kabupaten Bangkalan, Madura. Kegiatan tersebut merupakan lanjutan dari pengabdian masyarakat yang telah dilaksanakan pada tahun 2020. This study aims to determine the sectors that become the basis sector and non-base in the city of Bogor, then to know the performance of each sector in the city of Bogor, and to know the sector that became a potential sector in the city of Bogor. The research was conducted by using Location Quotient / LQ method. In the city of Bogor, from the period of 2011 to 2015 there is one sector of the highest base of electricity and gas procurement sector. Of the 16 economic sectors, the economic sector including the basic sector in 2011 is the procurement of electricity and gas, the transportation and warehousing sectors, the financial services sector and insurance and other services sectors. In addition to these four sectors in 2011, in 2012-2015, it increased by 7 sectors, to 11. The additional sectors were water supply, waste management, waste, construction, and large and retail trade sectors; car and motorcycle repair, accommodation, food and beverage sector, information and communications sector, corporate services sector, health services sector and social activities. then that included in the non-base sector is the other five sectors.In the city of Bogor the performance of the economic sector can be explained that the sector that has the average value of Regional Growth (PR) is the highest sector of procurement of electricity and gas. This value indicates that the growth of electricity and gas procurement sector in Bogor City is higher than that of Indonesia. In Bogor City from 2011 to 2015 included in the potential sector is sector. Then from these sectors, the most potential sector or the most potential sector is the electricity and gas procurement sector.From the results of research that has been obtained by researchers, the researchers provide suggestions that must be taken are as follows: First, the base sector should be more maintained and developed again without exclude development against other sectors. The electricity and gas procurement sector that contributes to the GRDP should be developed by industrializing in cooperation with investors, so that the contribution from the gas and electricity procurement sector can increase again. Second, planning in development should be given to sectors that have the potential to be developed as a top priority so that development can be carried out more optimally.

This study aims to determine and analyze the economic structure and leading sectors in Rejang Lebong Regency. The data used is secondary data on Gross Regional Domestic Product from 2015 to 2019 obtained from the Central Statistics Agency. The analysis used is economy structure, Location Quotient (LQ), Dynamic Location Quotient (DLQ), Shift-share, and Overlay. The results show that the highest GRDP contributor is the Agriculture, Fisheries, and Forestry sectors while the lowest is the Electricity and Gas Procurement sector  with contribution of 32% and 0.15% respectively. The results of the leading economic sectors in the Rejang Lebong Regency are the sectors of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Providing Accommodation and Food and Drink; Defense and Compulsory Social Security; Education Services; Health Services and Other Services.

The purpose of this study is to analyze trends in the economic growth sector in the city of Cirebon. The type of research used is a type of research with a quantitative approach. The location of this research was conducted in Cirebon City. Data obtained for this study were obtained from the results of literature studies and documentation techniques. Secondary data such as data from the Central Bureau of Statistics of Cirebon City are the main data used in this study. The data analysis technique used in the study of the economic growth of Cirebon City uses several stages such as identifying the driving factors and inhibitors of economic growth in the City of Cirebon through the location quotient analysis tool and the leading sector. The majority of economic sectors in Cirebon City are classified as the base or superior sectors, which are detected from the value of LQ statistic > 1. However, not all of these base sectors experience progress or positive developments. There are only three sectors (social health service, communication information, and company service) that are classified as the base sector and have positive dynamics and growth.Keywords: Economic Growth, Leading Sector, Cirebon.

The objectives of this research are: (1) analyzing and classifying economic sectors into basic and non basic sector among districts in Central Sulawesi Province; (2) understanding characteristics of economic growth among its districts; (3) understanding the role of national and regional share among its districts. The analyses used are Location Quotient, Dynamic Location Quotient, Klassen typology, and mix and share analysis. LQ analysis result show that basic sector in Central Sulawesi are agricultural sector, electricity and water supply sector, construction sector, communication and transportation sector, and services sector. LQ analysis, at sub-district level generating agricultural sector is the basic sector for Banggai Kepulauan, Banggai, Morowali, Poso, Donggala, Tolitoli, Buol, and Parimo districts. Services sector is the basic sector for Palu, Donggala, and Tojo Una Una districts. The DLQ analysis indicating that agriculturalsector still expected as basic sector .in the future for some districts in Central Sulawesi Province. The Klassen typolgy analysis show that Morowali district is categorized as developed and fast growing region; Banggai Kepulauan, Banggai, Tolitoli, and Buol districts are categorized as growing regions; Parimo and Palu districts are categorized as growing but under-pressured; while Poso, Donggala, and Tojo Una Una districts are categorized as less developed The mix and share analysis shows that the regional share of 10 districts are more prominent determinant factor than national share.

This study aims to find out the basic economic sector, strategic economic sectors and the potential to be developed as supporting regional revenues in Wajo District. The study was descriptive quantitative research which employed gross regional domestic product data and rate of economic growth in 2012-2016. The method analysis used Location Quotient (LQ), Shift Share, and Klassen Typology. The results of the study reveal that the base sectors are agriculture, forestry and fishery, mining and excavation, procurement of electricity and gas, large and retail trade, and car and motorcycle repair; whereas, other sectors are included as non-base. The results of shift share method reveal that the competitive sectors are agriculture, forestry and fishery, government administration, mandatory defense and social security, educational services, transportation and warehousing, real estate, financial services, information and communication, health services and social activities, other services, provision of accommodation and food and beverage, company services, and procurement of electricity and gas. The result of Klassen typology indicates that there are two superior sectors, those are agriculture, forestry and fishery, and procurement of electricity and gas which are in quadrant I position
