Asset management, as a global process through which value is added to a company, is a managerial model that involves major changes in strategies, technologies, and resources; risk management; and a change in the attitude of the people involved. The growing commitment of companies to sustainability results in them applying this approach to all their activities. For this reason, it is relevant to develop sustainability risk assessment procedures in industrial assets. This paper presents a methodological framework for the inclusion of sustainability aspects in the risk management of industrial assets. This approach presents a procedure to provide general criteria, methodology, and essential mandatory requirements to be adopted for the identification, analysis, and evaluation of sustainability aspects, impacts, and risks related to assets owned and managed by an industrial company. The proposed procedure is based on ISO 55,000 and ISO 31,000 standards and was developed following three steps: a preliminary study, identification of sustainability aspects and sustainability risks/opportunities, and impact assessment and residual risks management. Our results could serve as a model that facilitates the improvement of sustainability analysis risks in industrial assets and could be used as a basis for future developments in the application of the standards to optimize management of these assets.

This study aims to examine and explain the effect of company size and leverage on firm value with profitability as a moderating variable in Real Estate and Property companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in the period 2016-2018. This type of research is explanatory research, testing classical assumptions, and analyzed using a moderated regression analysis, and using the t test. The number of samples is 32 companies, and the sampling method used is purposive sampling. This research variable consists of company size and leverage as an independent variable, company value as the dependent variable, and profitability as a moderating variable. The analysis showed that partially company size and leverage had no significant effect on firm value, profitability had a negative effect on firm value and profitability weakened the effect of company size on firm value and profitability strengthened the effect of leverage on firm value. In this study, it can provide implications for a company to consider factors of company size, leverage, and profitability, and can also be used as a reference by other companies in business strategy, understand aspects of the industry they are involved in, and pay more attention to the development of the environment that can affect the company's business so that it can increase the value of the company.

We study the effect of political connection (PC) on company value in an environment where low PC is due to better institutions and not confounded by favorable social/cultural factors. We find that in Singapore, the only country that fits this description, PC in general adds little to the value of a company. However, in industries that are subject to more stringent government regulations, PC appears to be somewhat important. Robustness checks show that alternative PC variables give rise to similar results, and the addition of control variables do not drastically change the findings. Politically connected firms have higher managerial ownership and tend to be smaller than non-PC firms, rendering them more susceptible to poorer governance practices. We show that the presence of politically connected directors somewhat neutralizes such potential negative effects. PC firms are associated with good governance practices such as nonduality in their chairman and chief executive officer positions and fewer executive directors.

The article is devoted to the generalization of theoretical aspects and practical recommendations for improving the asset management system in modern conditions. To build an effective system, the object of management — assets — is studied in detail. The approaches to understanding the essence of assets, namely value, financial and property, are singled out. The ratio of such concepts as “current assets”, “working capital” and “working capital” is studied, their common and different characteristics are determined. The current assets are grouped according to different classification features and their significance in the production process is determined. It is substantiated that the grouping of current assets is primarily of practical importance, allowing to build a clear system of accounting and analysis of the availability and movement of current assets and to form an effective system of their management by individual types. A thorough analysis of the interpretations of the concept of “asset management” available in the scientific literature has been made, and several approaches to its understanding have been identified. The conducted research made it possible to form an author's definition of the current assets management system. It is determined that the current assets management system should be based on an integrated approach, the components of which are objects and subjects of management, purpose, basic principles and functions, methods and tools of influence, formalized quantitative and qualitative criteria for achieving goals, and factors forming the operating environment of the object. The characteristic of each element of the system is given, in particular the subjects and objects of management are concretized, their interaction is considered, the purposes and tasks are outlined. It is determined that the functions of the management system are controlling, stabilizing and analytical, and the principles on which it is based — timeliness, unity, continuity, optimality and rationality. The implementation of the current assets management system involves the implementation of a number of successive measures in the form of certain stages, which are considered in the work. The proposed system of current assets management will predict the choice of management strategy of the entity in the long run and increase the overall efficiency of its operation.

Company value is investors' perception of the level of success of a company. The level of success of a company is usually often associated with stock prices. High stock prices make the value of the company also increased. In this study, sampling was conducted using a purposive sampling method. For the data analysis technique the researchers used multiple linear regression analysis techniques. From the results of hypothesis testing that has been done, it shows that profitability, leverage and income smoothing simultaneously affect the value of the company. When viewed commercially, the results of hypothesis testing profitability variables have an influence on firm value. Furthermore, the results of the analysis of leverage variables also have an influence on firm value variables. The fourth analysis shows that the income smoothing variable affects the value of the company. Based on research that has been done, it is suggested, for investors before investing can see the value of the company first as a consideration made before investing.

The aim of the article is to propose a new method of valuation of a company, considering its ownership relations with other companies. For this purpose, the concept of the Shapley value from cooperative game theory is used as the basis for assessing such dependent companies. The paper presents proposals for Shapley value calculation algorithms for our model. We expand our model by discussing personal relations in addition to ownership relations and point out how intuitionistic fuzzy sets may be helpful in this context. As a result, we propose two new expanded models. In the first probabilistic model, we apply Pearson’s correlation coefficient, in the second, we use a correlation coefficient between intuitionistic fuzzy sets to determine the personal relationships. Finally, we present and interpret results for a real-world economic network with 17 companies.

Abstract:  This study examines the effect of the relationship between intellectual capital, good corporate governance, and firm value by using competitive advantage as mediation. Design/methodology/approach :  This study uses a sample of companies registered in CGPI during the 2014-2018 period. Data analysis using regression and path analysis.Research findings :  The research results show that the creation of a competitive advantage is inseparable from the role of intellectual capital and good corporate governance. In addition, competitive advantage is able to increase firm value but unfortunately it is not able to mediate company value.Theoretical contribution/ Originality :  This study uses M-VAIC to measure intellectual capital where in this measurement there is additional relational capital, and the use of competitive advantage as a mediating variable.Practitioner/Policy implication : This study proves the resourced-based theory which states that a company can win the competition by having a competitive advantage so that in the end it can increase firm value.Research limitation/Implication:  This study only includes CGPI listed companies as the research sample. In addition, the independent variables used are limited to intellectual capital and good corporate governance. Keywords:  intellectual capital, good corporate governance, competitive advantage, company value
