This study aims to describe the struggles experienced by the two main characters in the novel in getting their freedom and also to elaborate the important of freedom for the main characters as human rights. The research method used was a qualitative descriptive method with the sociology of literature approach. The primary data were collected from descriptions and utterances of the main characters and narrators in the novel. The supporting data were obtained from the library, internet, journals, and articles. The results of this research indicate that there is struggle of the main characters in obtaining their freedom as a human in this novel. Huckleberry Finn as the main character fought for his freedom from a drunk and abusive father, while Jim, as the second main character fought for his freedom from slavery. The two figures then met and made an adventure together to get their own freedom.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tanggapan pembaca terhadap novel Le Petit Prince, menguraikan horizon harapan pembaca terhadap novel Le Petit Prince, dan memaparkan faktor-faktor penyebab perbedaan tanggapan dan horizon harapan pembaca. Penelitian ini termasuk jenis penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Ada dua sumber data yaitu sumber data primer dan sekunder. Sumber data primer mengacu pada objek penelitian, yaitu novel Le Petit Prince, sedangkan data sekunder berupa teks-teks yang memuat tanggapan pembaca novel Le Petit Prince yang terdiri atas 20 orang yang terdapat pada media massacetak dan elektronik, termasuk internet. Instrumen penelitian berupa tabel-tabel isian yang mengaitkan pembaca, tanggapan pembaca, dan horizon harapan. Data dikumpulkan dengan cara observasi dan data dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian dirumuskan dalam tiga poin. Pertama, seluruh pembaca menanggapi atau menilai positif unsur tema, alur, tokoh, latar, sudut pandang, gaya bahasa, teknik penceritaan, bahasa, dan isi novel Le Petit Prince. Kedua, harapan sebagian besar pembaca sebelum membaca novel Le Petit Prince sesuai dengan kenyataan ke sembilan unsur di dalam novel LePetit Prince sehingga pembaca dapat dengan mudah menerima dan memberikan pujian pada novel tersebut. Ketiga, faktor penyebab perbedaan tanggapan dan horizon harapan pembaca selain perbedaan stressing unsur yang ditanggapi juga karena perbedaan pengetahuan tentang sastra, pengetahuan tentang kehidupan dan pengalaman membaca karya sastra.(This study aims to describe the readers’ responses to the novel Le Petit Prince, the readers' horizon of hope for the novel Le Petit Prince, and the factors that cause differences in responses and readers' expectation horizons. This study included a type of qualitative descriptive study. There are two data sources, namely primary and secondary data sources. The primary data source refers to the object of the research, the Le Petit Prince novel, while the secondary data is in the form of texts that contain the readers' responses of Le Petit Prince's novels consisting of 20 people, which are contained in print and electronic mass media including the internet. The research instrument is in the form of tables that link readers, readers' responses, and expectation horizons. Data is collected by means of observations and data analyzed using qualitative descriptive techniques. The results of the research are as follows. First, all readers respond or positively assess the elements of the theme, plot, character, setting, point of view, language style, storytelling techniques, language, and contents of the Le Petit Prince novel. Second, the hope of most readers before reading the Le Petit Prince novel is in accordance with the reality of the nine elements in the novel Le Petit Prince so that readers can easily receive and give praise to the novel. Third, the factors that cause differences in responses and readers' expectation horizons in addition to differences in elemental stressing are also responded to because of differences in knowledge about literature, knowledge of life and the experience of reading literature.)

Perbedaan antara laki-laki dan perempuan yang digambarkan di dalam karya sastra selalu menimbulkan beragam peristiwa sosial, termasuk persoalan ketimpangan gender.Peran perempuan dianggap hanya cocok berada di ranah domestik.Namun, secara feminisme profetik peran tersebut tidak dipersoalkan, karena perempuan meskipun berperan di dalam rumah tangga tetap bermanfaat dan memiliki nilai kebaikan.Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan nilai feminsime profetik dalam novel Kota Kaum Cadar karya Zoe Ferraris.Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif.Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik pembacaan dan pencatatan.Data penelitian ini adalah nilai feminisme profetik dalam novel Kota Kaum Cadar karya Zoe Ferrraris. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perempuan dan laki-laki memiliki kesempatan yang sama dalam melakukan kebaikan baik di ranah domestik maupun publik. Di dalam novel Kota Kaum Cadar karya Zoe Ferraris peran perempuan diposisikan sejajar dengan laki-laki dalam konteks berbuat kebaikan guna memeroleh remunerasi pahala dari Tuhan.Secara feminisme profetik melalui deskripsi peran tokoh perempuan dalam novel ini ditemukan pula nilai-nilai berupa; nilai humanis(amar ma’ruf), nilai liberasi (nahi munkar), nilai transedensi(tu’mina billah). Ketiga nilai tersebut saling berkaitanerat dengan nilai-nilai kebaikandalam kehidupan keluarga dan masyarakat.Kata kunci: nilai, feminisme profetik, ketimpangan genderPROPHETIC FEMINISM VALUES IN THE NOVEL KOTA KAUM CADARBY JOE FERRARISAbstract.The differences between men and women always lead to social differences and status, including gender inequality. Women are still placed and considered inferior to men and tend to have a lower status. Based on prophetic feminism, the role of women as domestic servants is not a problem, because women still have values of benefits eventhough they just stay at home. The aim of this study is to describe prophetic feminism value in the novel Kota Kaum Cadar by Zoe Ferraris. The research was conducted by using a qualitative descriptive method and the data were collected through reading and documentation techniques. The primary data in this research was prophetic feminism value in Kota Kaum Cadar novel by Zoe Ferraris. The results of the study showed that men and women have the same opportunities in exposing positive activities in local or public areas in order to get God’s rewards. The other prophetic feminist values that were found through the description of women’s character in this novel are humanization values (amar ma’ruf), liberation value (nahi munkar) and transcendence value (tu’mina billah).Keywords: values, prophetic feminism, gender inequality

The aim of this research is to describe the reflection of the global capitalism system in Suzanne Collins’s novel The Hunger Games. This research also explains on how the influences between The Hunger Games with the portrait of the global capitalism in the world. The research uses qualitative descriptive methods trough sociology of literature theory. It focuses on the relation of intrinsic elements in the literary works with the reality aspect from the society. The data constitute both primary and supporting data. The primary data was taken from the novel itself The Hunger Games, while supporting data are taken from books, theses, journal and articles from internet which related to the topic of the research. The result of research shows that The Hunger Games novel represented the global capitalism system in many ways. The differences between Capitol and all districts considered as the symbol of capitalism system where the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. The government of Panem which stayed in Capitol can be easily to control and dictated the people across the countryside. The global capitalism system in the novel reflected through the way of government of Panem control the economic side, market value, and political side.

This research is aimed at describing the character of Kai Amak in the novel Galuh Hati by Randu Alamsyah. This research uses qualitative descriptive method. The primary data is in the form of sentences and expressions which represents id, ego, and super ego occured in the novel Galuh Hati by Randu Alamsyah. In collecting the data, the documentation technique is used. Based on the result of the analysis, it is found that there are 45 expressions which represents id, ego, and super ego. There is 16 expressions of id aspect which can be found in his lust towards eat and drink, sex, ignoring the pain or uncomfortable feeling. There is 20 expressions of ego aspect which can be seen from his logic, problem-solving, and decision-making. Moreover, there is 9 expressions of super ego aspect which can be seen from his feeling of shame, guilty, and regret. So, it can be concluded that the character of Kai Amak has the id, ego, and super ego personality.

The aim of this research is to describe the process of loan element in adopting the novel Ayat-Ayat Cinta by Habiburrahman El Shirazy, the forms of loan element in the adoption process of the novel Ayat-Ayat Cinta by Habiburrahman El Shirazy, the meaning of the loan element in the adoption process of Ayat-Ayat Cinta by Habiburrahman El Shirazy. This research is qualitative descriptive which describes the quotation or expression in the novel Ayat-Ayat Cinta by Habiburrahman El Shirazy. The data used in this research is primary data which is adopted through the process of adoption and adaptation in the novel Ayat-Ayat Cinta bby Habiburrahman El Shirazy. From the result of the research, it can be concluded that there are 210 expressions of loan element which is derived from English and Arabic language through the process adoption and adaptation. From the process of adoption, there are 57 quotations which derives from 25 quotations of English and 32 quotations of Arabic language. Meanwhile the total of process adaptation is 153 quotations in which 116 quotations is from English and 37 from Arabic language. Those 57 quotations of adoption has denotative meaniang in which 25 of the quotations is from English and 32 quotations is from Arabic language. Moreover, it is found that the denotative meaning from adaptation proses is 153 quotations in which 116 quotations is from English and 32 quotations is from Arabic language.

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mendekripsikan tanggapan pembaca terhadap novel Le Petit Prince (2) mendeskripsikan horizon harapan pembaca terhadap novel Le Petit Prince, dan (3) mendeskripsikan faktor-faktor penyebab perbedaan tanggapan dan horizon harapan pembaca. Penelitian ini termasuk jenis penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Data penelitian berupa teks yang memuat tanggapan pembaca novel Le Petit Princeyang terdiri dari 20 orang, sedangkan sumber datanya berupa artikel dan makalah yang dimuat di media massa cetak dan elektronik termasuk internet. Instrumen penelitian berupa seperangkat konsep tentang pembaca, tanggapan pembaca, dan horizon harapan. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan cara observasi dan data dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian yang didapat sebagai berikut. (1) Seluruh pembaca menanggapi atau menilai positif unsur tema, alur, tokoh, latar, sudut pandang, gaya bahasa, teknik penceritaan, bahasa, dan isi novel Le Petit Prince. (2) Harapan sebagian besar pembaca sebelum membaca novel Le Petit Prince sesuai dengan kenyataan ke sembilan unsur di dalam novel Le Petit Prince, sehingga pembaca dapat dengan mudah menerima dan memberikan pujian pada novel Le Petit Prince. The research instruments are a set of reader concepts, reader responses, and expectations horizon. The technique of collecting data is observation and data are analyzed by using qualitative descriptive technique. The results obtained are as follow: (1) All readers respond and valuethe theme elements,plots, characters, background, point of view, language, titles, storytelling techniques, language, and extrinsic novel Le Petit Prince positively. (2) The expectations of most readers before reading Le Petit Prince's novels are in accordance with the nine facts in Le Petit Prince's novel, so readers can easily accept and give prise to Le Petit Prince's novel. (3) Factors causing differences in responses and horizon of readers' expectations other than the stressing differences of the elements being addressed also due to the differences in knowledge of literature, knowledge of life and literary reading experience. The purpose of this study was to find out the function of cold storage in stabilizing fish prices in Ambon City, analyzing optimal production levels of various types of dominant fish, and analyzing the level of efficiency of utilization of cold storage and auxiliary machinery. This study uses the survey method. Primary data collection through questionnaires is built empirically while secondary data is obtained from several agencies related to this study. The research sample was drawn by exhausting sampling, amounting to 6 cold storage units in Ambon City. The role of cold storage to stabilize fish prices was analyzed using a qualitative descriptive approach, while the quantitative techniques used included analysis of optimization of cold storage production with linear programming and analysis of the efficiency of utilization of cold storage. The results of the study show that cold storage has not played a role properly to stabilize fish prices in Ambon City. To achieve optimal use of production factors, the cold storage management needs to reduce the raw material by 24,915.9 kg / month; 7 HOK / month workforce; cold storage storage space capacity of 2.09 kg / month; and demand for flying fish 1,402.6 kg / month, while the use of production factors efficiently (fully utulized) is the capacity of the freezing machine, demand for tuna, skipjack, and cob. The level of technical efficiency of the utilization of cold storage facilities is reached, the total use of installed capacity must be proportional to the capacity used.

This study aims to measure the performance of fish auction process in Arumbai Market in Ambon. Primary data were collected from 43 respondents through observation and direct interview based on questionnaire. Data was analysed by qualitative descriptive method, importance performance analysis method (IPA) and gap analysis, and value for money method. The results show that: 1). There are three auction process activities namely pre auction, auction, and post auction; 2). Fisherman's satisfaction level is 67% and merchant satisfaction is 81%; and 3). The auction performance of the economic aspect is less economical, with the final value of 83%, while the fish auction performance from the efficiency aspect is less efficient with the value of 76%. For that, it needs additional officers to manage fish auction place (TPI) in Arumbai Market. In addition, the fish auction facilities (TPI) in Arumbai Market needs to be improved.
