Abu al-Hasan ‘Ali al-Nadwi (later al-Nadwi) was a famous Islamic scholar during his life in the 90s. He is known for his efforts to solve the problems faced by Muslims. Among al-Nadwi’s approaches is the call for Muslims to reappreciate the sources of Islamic history, especially al-sirah al-nabawiyyah (biography of the prophet). Al-Nadwi’s efforts to produce literary works on al-sirah al-nabawiyyah highlighted his thought that al-sirah al-nabawiyyah should be considered as one of the important sources of knowledge. Al-Nadwi was not only produced the work of al-sirah al-nabawiyyah for adults but also wrote several works on the similar theme for children. Based on these facts, this article will unravel al-Nadwi’s views which highlights the importance of al-sirah al-nabawiyyah in the process of educating children. This article analyses al-Nadwi’s views on al-sirah al-nabawiyyah through textual analysis method. As a result, this article discovers that al-Nadwi’s views of al-sirah al-nabawiyyah is based on his stand that Muslims should utilize the source of authoritative knowledge in Islam. In addition, children should be kept away from reading materials that contain elements of superstitions. The content of reading material featuring the prophets as role models should be given priority in the effort to form a good personality for children. Therefore, al-sirah al-nabawiyyah needs to be exposed to children because it is an important requirement to educate them with Islamic education. Keywords: Prophetic Biography, al-Nadwi, Islamic Thought, The Story of Prophets, Islamic Personality Abstrak Abu al-Hasan ‘Ali al-Nadwi (seterusnya al-Nadwi) merupakan seorang sarjana Islam yang terkenal ketika hayatnya pada era 90-an. The philosophy of Islamic education covers a wide range of ideas and practices drawn from Islamic scripture, metaphysics, philosophy, and common piety, all of which accumulate to inform discourses of learning, pedagogy, and ethics. This provides a definition of Islamic education and yet also of Islam more generally. In other words, since metaphysics and ontology are related to questions of learning and pedagogy, a compendious and indigenous definition of “education” offers an insight into a wider spectrum of Islamic thought, culture, and weltanschauung. As such, there is no singular historical or contemporary philosophy of Islamic education which avails all of this complexity but rather there exists a number of ideas and practices which inform how education plays a role in the embodiment of knowledge and the self-actualization of the individual self to ultimately come to know God. Such an exposition may come to stand as a superordinate vision of learning framing Islamic educational ideals. Questions of how these ideas are made manifest and practiced are partly answered through scripture as well as the historical, and continuing, importance of Muhammad, the Prophet of Islam; as paragon and moral exemplar in Islamic thought. Having said “I was sent as a teacher,” his life and manner (sunnah) offer a wide-ranging source of pedagogic and intellectual value for his community (ummah) who have regarded the emulation of his character as among the highest of human virtues. In this theocentric cosmology a tripart conception of education emerges, beginning with the sacred nature of knowledge (ʿilm), the imperative for its coupling with action (ʿamal), in reference to the Prophet, and finally, these foundations supporting the flourishing of an etiquette and comportment (adab) defined by an equanimous state of being and wisdom (ḥikma). In this sense, the reason for there being not one identifiable philosophy of Islamic education, whether premodern or in the modern context, is due to the concatenations of thoughts and practices gravitating around superordinate, metaphysical ideals. The absence of a historical discipline, named “philosophy of education” in Islamic history, infers that education, learning, and the nurturing of young minds is an enterprise anchored by a cosmology which serves the common dominators of divine laudation and piety. Education, therefore, whether evolving from within formal institutional arenas (madrasas) or the setting of the craft guilds (futuwwa), help to enunciate a communality and consilience of how human beings may come to know themselves, their world, and ultimately God.

The method employed is library research that used the Prohpetic Parenting book entitled “Cara Nabi Mendidik Anak (How the prophet educates His children) as the main reading material. Then, the data was analyzed in a literary way by looking for other books or journals that are relevant to the theme discussed. The results reveal that educating children on clean and healthy living habits in their early childhood can be done with two approaches. First, it can be a habitual approach where parents get children to do activities that support health and hygiene in accordance to the Qur'an and hadith in facing new normal such as maintaining health, hand and mouth hygiene, food intake, and a resting pattern. Second, the method approach is that parents must use the right method to show them how to do this habituation. The uswah al hasanah method can be an option for parents to invite children to have a healthy and clean lifestyle in facing this current situation of Covid-19. Therefore, parents must become role models for children in implementing clean and healthy living behaviors along the lines of Qur'an and hadith

As a process of knowledge transformation that will underlie the attitude of life of a Muslim, a qualified strategy is needed to teach the true teachings of Islam to the younger generation. The challenge for the current generation (millennial) is the opening of all channels of information that are very easy to obtain but not accompanied by good assistance from teachers and parents, so they are prone to absorb wrong information or even information that is not suitable for the size of the mind and soul. The next problem that occurs at this time is the reduced role of a teacher in shaping character and providing teaching materials that they should receive. This paper will invite to explore how the process of transformation of Islamic education was exemplified by the Prophet Muhammad and the Archangel Jibril before his companions regarding the methods used and what materials should be taught as the basis of Islamic knowledge. This research will use the literature method through the hadith literature and books that recite the hadith. The author also uses a philosophical and hermeneutic approach in understanding this hadith to get a new understanding but not out of an educational context. The research results from the understanding of this hadith are that a teacher plays a central role in the process of Islamic education so that teachers are expected to be able to appear as role models in front of their students, not display disgrace and personal ugliness, show friendly behavior to their students, have healthy scientific interactions, and teach basic things that are important in Islam according to the capacity of the soul and mind of the student.
