Cadmium (Cd), as a heavy metal, presents substantial biological toxicity and has harmful effects on human health. To lower the ingress levels of human Cd, it is necessary for Cd content in food crops to be reduced, which is of considerable significance for ensuring food safety. This review will summarize the genetic traits of Cd accumulation in rice and examine the mechanism of Cd uptake and translocation in rice. The status of genes related to Cd stress and Cd accumulation in rice in recent years will be summarized, and the genes related to Cd accumulation in rice will be classified according to their functions. In addition, an overview of quantitative trait loci (QTLs) mapping populations in rice will be introduced, aiming to provide a theoretical reference for the breeding of rice varieties with low Cd accumulation. Finally, existing problems and prospects will be put forward.

The status, dynamic, structure of sources of financing of leasing operations and tendencies of the development of the leasing services market in Ukraine in 2014-2018 have been considered. Today, financial leasing services are predominantly provided by financial companies, unlike in 2014, its share in the leasing market is 77.03%. The dynamics of the value and quantity of financial leasing agreements concluded by legal entities and financial companies have been considered. During the period under review, the largest value and number of financial leasing contracts were concluded by the legal entities and their value has increased in three times. The structure of the cost of financial leasing agreements by industry has been analyzed. The transport, agriculture, construction and services sectors are found to be the largest users of financial leasing services. The distribution of the value of the financial leasing contracts by its terms has been characterized and the agreements with the term of validity from 2 to 5 years are established. The structure of sources of financing of leasing operations has been investigated. It is established that their structure is dominated by equity of companies. The perspective directions of use of leasing in Ukraine have been considered. Industries such as healthcare, real estate, tourism and IT have been found to be the most promising for the leasing market. The problems that hinder the effective functioning of the leasing market in Ukraine and hinder its further development have been identified. The measures that should be taken to overcome existing problems and ensure the further development of leasing activities in Ukraine have been suggested.

With its advantages of low cost and high efficiency, e-commerce is not only favored by ordinary consumers, but also effectively promotes SMEs to find business opportunities and win the market. This article starts with the development scale of China’s e-commerce industry and the status quo of export trade, and measures the overall index of China’s e-commerce industry development level from 2008 to 2018 through empirical methods to analyze its impact on China’s export trade. The results show that the development level of the e-commerce industry has a significant positive impact on China’s export trade. Finally, it analyzes the existing problems in the development of China’s e-commerce industry.

Wetlands are home to numerous species of fish, birds, and reptiles. The enormous roots of the mangrove trees act as shelter to small fish, reptiles, and amphibians. Pesticides and agro-chemical fertilizers have been playing a very pivotal role in the degradation of the land and the water bodies. The different herbicides that are present in wetlands are Dicamba, Endothall, MCPA, Triallate, Trifluralin, 2, 4-D, and insecticides Carbaryl, Carbofuran, Fenvalerate, Malathion, Parathion, and Terbufos. These pesticides have been provided with the aim of catering to the security of the crops which are highly vulnerable to the pests. However, harmful effects of pesticides on wetland species have been a concern for long time. Wetlands constitute one such habitat threatened by the pesticides. But there has been a lack of comprehensive research in this direction. The chapter will identify the gaps in the current research and will review the status of Indian wetlands with special reference to pesticides and their impact.

Cadmium (Cd) is present in many soils and, when entering the food chain, represents a major health threat to humans. Reducing Cd accumulation in plants is complicated by the fact that most known Cd transporters also operate in the transport of essential nutrients such as Zn, Fe, Mn, or Cu. This work summarizes the current knowledge of mechanisms mediating Cd uptake, radial transport, and translocation within the plant. It is concluded that real progress in the field may be only achieved if the transport of Cd and the above beneficial micronutrients is uncoupled, and we discuss the possible ways of achieving this goal. Accordingly, we suggest that the major focus of research in the field should be on the structure–function relations of various transporter isoforms and the functional assessment of their tissue-specific operation. Of specific importance are two tissues. The first one is a xylem parenchyma in plant roots; a major “controller” of Cd loading into the xylem and its transport to the shoot. The second one is a phloem tissue that operates in the last step of a metal transport. Another promising and currently underexplored avenue is to understand the role of non-selective cation channels in Cd uptake and reveal mechanisms of their regulation.

Through investigations on some key high energy-consuming enterprises (metallurgy, building materials, coal chemical industry) in Gansu Province, it was found that various industries had different understandings on the work, which mainly focused on some aspects on enterprise capacity development, the advanced technology, the relation between inputs and the output. In addition, especially government supervision had a great importance on the whole work, such as the complete laws and timely implementation of existing problems. In view of above all, this paper put forwards to strengthen energy conservation and emission reduction from the aspects of the supervision mechanism construction and the supervision system, which had a certain significance for the guidance of energy conservation and emission reduction.

Indoor air pollution level in dwellings varies in different areas. Specifically, the formaldehyde and total volatile organic compound pollution are serious in new residential buildings according to the investigation of indoor air pollution status of residential buildings in China. Appropriate ventilation, as an important means to reduce the concentration of indoor pollutants, is mainly affected by ventilation mode, ventilation performance, ventilation strategies, etc. This paper analyses the status, standards, technologies and products related to residential ventilation and concludes the existing drawbacks in residential ventilation applications in China. Understanding of residential ventilation, and its standards, design methods, technologies, products, also the economy and usability should be given a major consideration to research.

I review the status of the Complex Langevin method, which was invented to make simulations of models with complex action feasible. I discuss the mathematical justification of the procedure, as well as its limitations and open questions. Various pragmatic measures for dealing with the existing problems are described. Finally I report on the progress in the application of the method to QCD, with the goal of determining the phase diagram of QCD as a function of temperature and baryonic chemical potential.
