In the present work, the ductile formation mechanism of a newly proposed torsion configuration has been investigated. One of the unique attributes of this paper is the first-time disclosure of the design and fabrication of a novel prototype screw with torsional flow character validating the orthogonal test model experimentally. The torsional spiral flow patterns that occurred in the torsion channel cause a ductile deformation of polymer in the form of a spiral, which in turn enhances the radial convection, achieving an effective mass transfer of material from the top region to the bottom region and vice versa. Furthermore, the characteristic parameters of torsion configuration have a significant influence on the plasticizing and melting capability of polymer. By range analysis and weight matrix analysis, the best factor and level combination was obtained. Results indicated that the aspect ratio of the torsion channel is almost equal to 1, and the plasticizing and melting capability of polymer is optimal. This novel design innovation offers a paradigm shift in the energy-efficient plasticization of polymer compounds.

The dependence of the dynamic range of the phase generated carrier (PGC) technique on low-pass filters passbands is investigated using a simulation model. A nonlinear character of this dependence, which could lead to dynamic range limitations or measurement uncertainty, is presented for the first time. A detailed theoretical analysis is provided to verify the simulation results and these results are consistent with performed calculations. The method for the calculation of low-pass filters passbands according to the required dynamic range upper limit is proposed.

This paper proposed a novel design of microgyroscope based on MEMS structures and optic interferometric microdisplacement measurement technique. The gyroscope consists of microvibrator and interferometric readout. Using Coriolis force, the vibrator transfers the system rotation into a forced vibration; the induced vibration can be sensed by the interferometric microdisplacement measurement system. The optic measurement system has two mirrors which will reflect two rays into a detector. The comprehensive studies on the formulation and analysis of the proposed gyroscope have been undertaken; two key sensor equations have been derived in the first time in the world: (1) relation between rotation and phase shift of lightΔφ=(4πl0/λ)+(8π/λ)(xmax⁡Qy/ωy)Ω(t)sin⁡(ωdt), (2) relation between rotation and interferometric intensity of lightI(t)≈(8π/λ)(xmax⁡Qy/ωy)Ω(t)sin⁡(ωdt)sin⁡(4πl0/λ). The comparison of the proposed gyroscope and well-know Sagnac formulation has been investigated; it shown that the proposed model is much better than Sagnac ones. The new model has finally get rid of needing very long fiber in the case of Sagnac gyroscope. The innovative model gives a new hope to fabricate high accurate and cheaper gyroscope. To date, the proposed gyroscope is the most accurate gyroscope.

<div>In this paper, we present an integrated and fire neuron designed in a 22-nm FDSOI technology. In this novel design, we deploy the back-gate terminal of FDSOI technology for a tunable design. For the first time, we show analytically and with pre- and post-layout simulations a neuron with tunable spiking frequency using the back-gate voltage of FDSOI technology. The neuron circuit is designed in the sub- hreshold region and dissipates an ultra-low energy per spike of the order of Femto Joules per spike. With the layout area of only 30 um2, this is the smallest neuron circuit reported to date.</div>

In order to realize the precise identification of eggshell crack, we design eggshell cracks detection method based on image processing and fuzzy neural network. Firstly this method gets two pieces image of eggs and processes, and then counts number of the same gray pixel. Determine five characteristic parameters as the input of fuzzy neural network. Set up a fuzzy neural network. Its structure is 5-10-1. Eggshell cracks and noise in egg images were distinguished using automatically learning and inference rules of fuzzy neural network. Use 147 groups of parameters for training network and rest 58 sample for verifying. Experimental result shows that the model can meet actual testing requirements with fast, stable, high precision and good robustness, easy to implement. Its precision reached 94.55%.

This paper presents the foaming behavior of PLA-CO2 and PLA/beeswax-CO2 systems for solid state foaming process with particular goal of producing low density foams. The low density PLA foams can be achieved under 2 MPa sub-critical CO2 condition due to CO2-induced crystalline. When 10wt% beeswax was added to PLA matrix, the tensile strain at break increases from 7.9% to 22.2% and crystallinity remain unchanged. The inherent brittle deformation behavior of the PLA was transformed into relatively ductile behavior after blending 10wt% beeswax. The expansion ratio of neat PLA and its blends with 10wt% beeswax increase from 1.08 to 19.4. The ductile deformation behavior of PLA is an important factor for solid-state PLA foam.

BACKGROUND With China’s explosive internet growth, activities such as socializing and partner seeking among men who have sex with men (MSM) has also become Web based through popular services such as Blued. This creates a new mode of health promotion with the potential to instantly reach large numbers of MSM, including those who rarely access traditional offline testing facilities. OBJECTIVE This study aimed to assess the feasibility of the Easy Test in increasing access and uptake of HIV testing and treatment services among MSM and to identify demographic and behavioral predictors of program uptake to inform future implementation. METHODS A feasibility study of the Easy Test model was conducted from October 2017 to December 2017 in 14 Chinese provinces. Applicants who provided informed consent completed a self-administered questionnaire and submitted a US $5 deposit to have the free test kit delivered to their homes. Orders were then received, processed, and posted by volunteers from local community-based organizations. Once applicants submitted images of their test results, the deposit was refunded to the applicant. Those whose test results were deemed to be HIV-positive were then connected to a peer navigator to accompany the individual to follow-up medical services. A chi-squared trend test was used to assess the relationship between lifetime HIV testing volume and HIV prevalence. Logistic regression models were used to identify independent risk factors associated with two outcomes: (1) never having tested for HIV and (2) receiving an HIV-positive result. RESULTS A total of 879 individuals submitted Web-based requests for test kits. Their median age was 28 (interquartile range 24-34 years); 69.3% (609/879) had at least a college education, and 51.5% (453/879) had a monthly income between US $450 to $750; 77.7% (683/879) of the applicants submitted images of their test results, among whom 14.3% (98/683) had an HIV-positive result. Among the 42.9% (293/683) who were first-time testers, the HIV prevalence was 18.8% (55/293). Nearly three-quarters (71/98, 72.4%) of those with a positive test result were connected with a peer navigator and enrolled in treatment. Among the first-time testers, having multiple sexual partners (2-3 sexual partners: adjusted odds ratio [aOR] 2.44, 95% CI 1.08-5.50; 4 or above sexual partners: aOR 3.55, 95% CI 1.18-10.68) and reporting inconsistent condom use in the previous 3 months (aOR 7.95, 95% CI 3.66-17.26) were both associated with an HIV-positive result. An inverse dose response relationship between lifetime HIV testing volume and HIV prevalence was also observed in this study (χ23=55.0; P<.001). CONCLUSIONS The Easy Test model reached a larger portion of first-time testers, many who reported higher risk sexual behaviors. This highlights the potential for an internet-based self-test model to increase access to HIV treatment services for HIV-positive MSM in China.
