The aim of this study is to evaluate the influence of bibliotherapy education on the social-emotional skills of psychological counselling and guidance candidates. The test group of the study consisted of psychological counselling and guidance students who participated voluntarily in the course named “Applied Counselling and Bibliotherapy”. A pre-test and post-test experimental design without a control group was used in the study. The Social Skills Inventory was used, for determining the social skills level of students before and after they are provided with bibliotherapy education. It was concluded from the study that there is a significant difference in the general scores for the social skills of female students after bibliotherapy education and the scores they obtained in the sub-dimensions of social expressivity. With the given reading materials and method of delivery, when the effect of bibliotherapy education on social skills level was compared, it was found in the final test that female students’ scores in the sub-dimensions of emotional expressivity and social control were significantly higher than those of male students. However, it was concluded that male students’ scores in the sub-dimension of emotional control were higher than those of female students.

The purpose of this study was to determine differences in students' mathematical communication skills based on gender with learning using metacognitive strategies. This research method is a quasi-experimental design using a pretest-posttest control group design. The sampling technique used was saturated sampling which consisted of 19 male students as the first experimental group and 17 female students as the second experimental group. The instrument used was in the form of a five-point essay test to measure the aspects of students' mathematical communication skills after being given a treatment, namely learning using metacognitive strategies. The pre-test mean score shows that female students are higher than male students, on the contrary, the average score of the post-test results, it is known that male students are higher. The data were analyzed using the t-test, it was concluded that there was a significant difference between the mathematical abilities of male and female students. This difference is consistent with several previous research results, although not a few studies also state that there is no significant difference between students' academic abilities based on gender.

The aim of this research is to investigate the ability of multiple intelligence (MI) of male and female students from primary school. The total sample was 71 students consisting of 35 experimental group students and 36 in the control group in a primary school in Cilegon City, 2016-2017 academic year. In this study, the experimental group consisted of male students using learning with the MI and the control group consisted of female students using learning with the MI approach. Analysis of data obtained from this study, using the Independent Sample t-test and Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient. The findings of this study indicate that there is a statistically significant difference between the ability of MI in the experimental group and the control group, where the average score experimental group is higher. These results can be seen in the average score of MI ability in the experimental group is higher in visual-spatial, music, logical-mathematical, interpersonal and bodily-kinesthetic intelligence. The average score of MI ability in the control group is higher in verbal-linguistic, naturalistic, and intrapersonal. These concluded that the results of the Investigation of Multiple Intelligence (MI) of Primary School Students in the experimental group (male students) were better than the control group (female students).

This study investigates the impact of using the heuristic teaching approach for teaching mathematics to tenth grade students in Jordan. The researchers followed the equivalent pre/post T test two group designs. To achieve the goal of the study, a pre/post- test was constructed to measure student achievement in mathematics. The sample for this study consisted of 142 students; 69 male students and 73 female students from tenth grade at King Abdullah School in Irbid, Jordan for the first semester of the academic year 2011/2012. The subjects of the study were distributed into an experimental group and a control group. The experimental group was taught mathematics using the heuristic approach while the control group was taught mathematics using the traditional method of teaching. The subjects were 34 male students for the experimental group and 35 male students for the control group, while the female students for the experimental and control group were 37 and 36 respectively. Those subjects were distributed into two purposefully selected sections at king Abdullah School in Irbid. Descriptive statistical analyses were used (means and standard deviation) for the pre- and post- tests of students. Comparison statistical methods were used (Two Way ANOVA) analysis of variance to make a comparison between the control and the experimental groups and gender variable. The findings of the study indicated that there were statistically significant differences in the post- test between the control and the experimental groups in favor of the experimental group, and there was no statistically significant difference in the students' achievement due to gender. There was no statistically significant difference due to the interaction between gender and group. The researcher proposes some recommendations to enhance the effect of using heuristic approach in teaching mathematics on students' performance such as conducting further studies in other universities.

The current research aims to find out the impact of the infographic strategy in the achievement and development of visual thinking among second-grade intermediate students in the subject of social science by verifying the validity of the following null hypotheses. There is no statistically significant difference at the level of significance (0.05) between the average scores of the students of the experimental group who study the social subject according to the infographic strategy and the average scores of the students of the control group who study the same subject in the usual way in the post-achievement test. There is no statistically significant difference at the level of significance (0.05) between the average scores of the students of the experimental group who study social studies according to the infographic strategy and the average scores of the students of the control group who study the same subject according to the usual method of the dimensional visual thinking test. There is no statistically significant difference at the level of significance (0.05) between the average grades of the experimental group students who study the social subject according to the infographic strategy in the pre- and post-visual thinking scale. There is no statistically significant difference at the level of significance (0.05) between the average scores of the control group students who study the subject of social studies according to the usual method in the pre- and post-visual thinking scale. To verify this, the researcher used an experimental design with partial control with the experimental and control groups, and the pre- and post-tests. According to the infographic strategy and Division (E), the control group is represented, which is taught in the usual way. The number of female students in the two groups was (56), of which (26) were students in Division (D) and (30) were students in Division (E). The researcher did not find female students who had failed in the same phase year. The researcher used the same conditions for the two groups of research in the following variables: academic achievement of fathers, academic achievement of mothers, chronological age calculated in months, scores for the pre-visual thinking scale, IQ test scores, degrees of social science from the 2016/2017 academic year.

Aims: As a vulnerable group in society, orphaned and abandoned adolescents are faced with various social issues as well as lack of healthy social skills that can lead to high-risk behaviors. The objective of this study was to examine the effect of emotional intelligence skills training on the social skills of orphaned and abandoned adolescents. Methods: The present study was an interventional research with a pretest-posttest design. The sample included 30 orphaned and abandoned male teen-agers, residing in a care center, who were randomly selected and divided into intervention and control groups. The intervention group had four emotional intelligence-based training sessions. In this study, the Matson Evaluation of Social Skills with Youngsters (MESSY) was used to evaluate the variables. The results were analyzed, using SPSS Statistics 22. Results: The results showed significant difference between the mean MESSY scores in the intervention group before and after the intervention ( p < .05). There was also a significant difference between the mean scores of the intervention and control group, following the intervention. Conclusion: An emotional intelligence-based training program can be effective in improving the social skill levels amongst orphaned and abandoned adolescents as a vulnerable social group.

My aim in this study was to investigate the social skills, life satisfaction, and loneliness levels of a sample of 525 Turkish university students. Participants completed the UCLA Loneliness Scale, Satisfaction with Life Scale, Social Skills Inventory, and a personal information form. Independent samples t test, correlation analysis, and multiple linear regression analysis were employed for data analysis. The social skills and life satisfaction levels of female students were found to be significantly higher than those of male students. Loneliness levels of male students were found to be significantly higher than those of female students; social skills and life satisfaction were negatively correlated with loneliness; and social skills were positively correlated with life satisfaction. Life satisfaction and social skills negatively predicted university students' loneliness.
