Mangroves are forests that grow in brackish water and are affected by tides and seawater, and these forests grow specifically in places where there are pavement and accumulation of organic material. The purpose of this research is to identify the types of mangroves and determine the structure of the mangrove community in Lesah Village. This research was conducted from September to October 2019. The method used in this research is the quadrant line transect method. The types of mangroves were identified with identification books. Community structure data taken are density, frequency, dominance and important value index (IVI) and then analyzed with Microsoft Excel program. Based on the results of the research, there are 2 types of mangroves found in the research location, Rhizophora stylosa and Sonneratia alba. The highest density value (0.122 ind / m2), relative density (81.88%), frequency types (1), relative frequency (50%). Closure types (1.83 m2), types of relative closure (50.18%), the highest important value index at the research site was (182.12%). The results of the mangrove ecological index data analysis for the diversity index value (0.51), dominance (0.73). Keywords: Structure Community, Mangrove, Lesah Village. Abstrak Mangrove adalah hutan yang tumbuh di air payau, dan dipengaruhi oleh pasang surut air laut dan hutan ini tumbuh khususnya di tempat-tempat di mana terjadi pelumpuaran dan akumulasi bahan oraganik. Tujuan dari penelitian adalah mengidentifikasi jenis-jenis mangrove dan mengetahui struktur komunitas mangrove di Desa Lesah. Penelitian dilaksanakan dari September-Oktober 2019. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode line transek kuadran. Jenis-jenis mangrove di identifikasi dengan bantuan buku identifikasi. Data struktur komunitas yang di ambil adalah kerepatan, ferkuensi, dominasi dan indeks nilai penting(INP) dan kemudian di analisa dengan bantuan program computer Microsoft Excel. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian terdapat 2 jenis mangrove yang terdiri dari, Rhizophora stylosa dan Sonneratia alba. Nilai kerepatan tertinggi (0.122 ind/m2), kerapatan relatif jenis (81.88%), frekuensi jenis (1), frekuensi relatif jenis (50%). Penutupan jenis (1.83 m2), penutupan relatif jenis (50.18%), indeks nilai penting tertinggi dilokasi penelitian adalah (182.12%). Hasil analisis data indeks ekologi mangrove untuk nilai indeks keanekaragaman (0.51), dominasi(0.73). Kata Kunci: Struktur Komunitas, Mangrove, Desa Lesah.

This study aims to examine the density, frequency and closure of mangrove areas. In addition, it also analyzed the ecological index (index of diversity, uniformity, and dominance) of mangrove vegetation in the waters of Ujung Batu, Flores Sea, Jeneponto Regency. This research was conducted using the 10 x 10 m2 transect plot method. The data obtained were analyzed to determine the density, frequency, closure and important value index (IVI) as well as to analyze the diversity index, uniformity and dominance index. The results of this study are; mangrove communities in the waters of the Ujung Batu, Flores coast, consists of types Avicennia alba, A. marina, A. officinalis, Sonnneratia alba and Rhizophora stylosa. A. alba dominates at the three observation stations (I, II and III). This is marked by the high importance (IVI) at all levels. The diversity index (H ') at the study site ranged from 0.36 - 0.51, indicating a low level of diversity. The Simpson dominance index (SDI) ranges from 0.34 to 0.54, indicating that one of the species (A. alba) dominates the mangrove area in the study site.

This study aims to determine the diversity and density of mangrove vegetation in Kase Village, Leksula Subdistrict, South Buru Regency. The study uses the line transect method with several observation plots that are stratified. A total of 20 transects were placed at the study site with the size of each plot, namely for seedling level, which is 2 x 2 m, while for the level of a sapling, namely 5 x 5 m and for the level of trees, which is 10 x 10 m. The results showed that in the mangrove area in Kase Village, Leksula Subdistrict, South Buru Regency, 3 mangrove species were found, namely Rhizophora apiculata, Bruguiera gymnorhiza, and Sonneratia alba, which belong to two families (Rhizophoraceae, Sonneratiaceae) and 3 genera, (Rhizophora, Bruguiera, Sonneratia). The total number of mangrove individuals, that is 699 individuals from 419 levels of seedlings, 116 levels of a sapling, and 164 levels of trees. The species with the highest density and relative density values at the level of tree growth, namely Rhizophora apiculata, and at the level of sapling and seedlings, namely Bruguiera gymnorhiza. While Sonneratia alba, tends to have density values and species densities that tend to be low at all three growth rates. Furthermore, the results of the diversity index analysis in the mangrove area of Kase Village, Leksula Subdistrict, South Buru Regency, showed that the diversity of species (H´) mangroves for each growth level was 0.76 (seedlings); 0.82 (sapling); and 1.02 (trees), or classified as low to moderate category. Keywords: Mangrove, Diversity, Abundance, Kase Village  Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman dan kerapatan jenis vegetasi mangrove di Desa Kase, Kecamatan Leksula Kabupaten Buru Selatan. Penelitian menggunakan metode line transect dengan beberapa plot pengamatan yang dibuat bertingkat. Sebanyak 20 transek ditempatkan pada lokasi penelitian dengan ukuran plot masing-masing, yakni untuk tingkat semai, yakni 2 x 2 m, sedangkan untuk tingkat anakan, yakni 5 x 5 m dan untuk tingkat pohon, yakni 10 x 10 m. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada area mangrove di Desa Kase Kecamatan Leksula Kabupaten Buru Selatan, ditemukan 3 spesies mangrove yakni Rhizophora apiculata, Bruguiera gymnorhiza, dan Sonneratia alba, yang tergolong ke dalam dua family (Rhizophoraceae, Sonneratiaceae) dan 3 genus, (Rhizophora, Bruguiera, Sonneratia). Jumlah total individu mangrove, yakni 699 individu yang terdiri dari 419 tingkat semai, 116 tingkat anakan, dan 164 tingkat pohon. Spesies dengan nilai kerapatan dan kerapatan relatif tertinggi pada tingkat pertumbuhan pohon, yakni Rhizophora apiculata, dan pada tingkat anakan serta semai, yakni Bruguiera gymnorhiza. Sedangkan Sonneratia alba, cenderung memiliki nilai kerapatan dan kerapatan jenis yang cenderung rendah pada ketiga tingkat pertumbuhan tersebut. Kemudian, hasil analisis indeks keanekaragaman di area mangrove Desa Kase Kecamatan Leksula Kabupaten Buru Selatan, menunjukan bahwa keanekaragaman jenis (H´) mangrove untuk masing-masing tingkat pertumbuhan, yakni 0.76 (semai); 0.82 (anakan); dan 1.02 (pohon), atau tergolong kategori rendah hingga sedang.                                                      Kata Kunci: Mangrove, Keanekaragaman, Kerapatan, Desa Kase

The waters of Tongkaina, which are part of northern Manado's waters, are known to have mangrove, seagrass, and seaweed ecosystems. Therefore efforts are needed to manage the population and diversity of echinoderms in these waters. Echinoderms' ecology has an essential role in maintaining the marine ecosystem's balance, which plays a role in recycling nutrients. This study aimed to determine diversity, species density, species relative density, species frequency, species relative frequency, dominance, and the index of importance of Echinoidea and Asteroidea's species in the waters of the Tongkaina Village and their density. The method used in this research is the quadratic line transect method. First of all, the survey was conducted to the sampling site's location in the coral reef flats of Tongkaina Village's waters, including Tongkaina beach and Bahowo beach, before operating the sampling. Then the observation stations were determined, namely Tongkaina waters (near Batu Meja) and Bahowo waters. The quadratic line transect method is used in this research. Species of class Echinoidea and Asteroidea in the quadrat were recorded among the total of individuals, and the species is documented. This study's results indicate that six species were found, including the survey, and five species were found based on the line transect method with 182 individuals. Including Asteroidea 85 Individuals and Echinoidea 99 Individuals. Value of Diversity at station 1 has a value of H '= 1.170 with a dominance of C = 0.364, while at Station 2 has a value of H' = 1.232 and dominance value of C = 0.316. the highest density in Station 1 is Diadema savigny 1.967 ind/m2 relative 50.86%, and Linckia laevigata with the highest frequency Fi = 0.533. The highest important value index is Diadema savigny, with a value of 81.09%, while at station 2, the Protoreaster nodosus has the highest value of important value index with a value of 87.51%. These species also have the highest density of 0.933 ind/m2 and a relative number of 41.79%.Keywords: Tongkaina, Echinoderm, Line Transect Quadrat Method, Asteroidea, Echinoidea, Coral Reef Flat

Herpetofauna consisting of reptiles and amphibians is a group of fauna whose biodiversity potential is rarely known and is not well known by the public. The purpose of this study was to determine the distribution, ecology and diversity of herpetofauna in Mesangat Wetlands. The method used in this research is the Visual Encounter Survey (VES) search method by searching directly for the type of herpetofauna around the predetermined pathway. Field orientation is carried out to determine the location of the observation, the location of the observation is divided into 3 locations (Mesangat Hilir, Tengah and Hulu) in one observation location there are 5 stations (lanes) for herpetofauna observation. Observations were made in the morning starting at 09.00 - 12.00 WITA and at night starting at 20.00 - 23.00 WITA. Recorded data related to the number of individuals, activities, time found, environmental parameters and measured SVL if possible. Identified species were found using the identification key book Field Frogs of Borneo Inger and Stuebing (2014) and A Field Guide to the Snakes of Borneo Stuebing, Inger and Lardner (2014). The data were analyzed using Microsoft Excel 2010. The results showed that the distribution of herpetofauna in Mesangat Wetlands was fairly evenly distributed and the ecology of Mesangat Wetlands supported for herpetofauna life and the diversity index value obtained was 1.53 which was classified as medium category.

ABSTRACT Indonesia's territory has high water resources such as fauna diversity. One animal example from the Phylum Echinodermata Class Asteroidea. This is supported by the presence of sand, seagrass and coral reef habitats. Asteroidea is a inhabitant of shallow waters and is commonly found in seagrass beds and coral reefs. This study aims to analyze the diversity of sea star species in Bahowo Beach, Bunaken District, Manado City, North Sulawesi. The sampling method used in this study is the line transect and squared method. Analysis of the data used is Relative Abundance (KR), Diversity Index (H '), Evenness Index (e), and Wealth Index (R). The results of the study found 5 species with a total of 73 individuals. Diversity index value is H '= 1.23 and shows the results of moderate diversity. Keywords: Diversity of Types of Sea Stars in Bahowo Beach, Bunaken District, Manado City, North Sulawesi.  ABSTRAK Wilayah Indonesia memiliki sumber daya perairan yang tinggi seperti keanekaragaman fauna. Asteroidea adalah penghuni perairan dangkal dan umumnya terdapat di padang lamun dan terumbu karang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis keanekaragaman jenis bintang laut yang ada di Pantai Bahowo, Kecamatan Bunaken, Kota Manado, Sulawesi Utara. Metode pengambilan sampel yang diigunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode garis transek dan kuadrat. Analisis data yang digunakan yaitu Kelimpahan Relatif (KR), Indeks Keanekaragaman (H’), Indeks Kemerataan (e), dan Indeks Kekayaan (R). Hasil penelitian didapatkan 5 spesies dengan jumlah 73 individu. Nilai indeks keanekaragaman yaitu H’= 1,23 dan menunjukkan hasil keanekaragaman sedang. Kata Kunci: Keanekaragaman Jenis Bintang Laut di Pantai Bahowo, Kecamatan Bunaken, Kota Manado, Sulawesi Utara.

Kawasan hutan mangrove memiliki keanekaragaman hayati dan biota yang beragam, kawasan ini potensial dikembangkan sebagai kawasan ekowisata bahari. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui indeks kesesuaian wisata, daya dukung kawasan, dan daya dukung pemanfaatan ekowisata mangrove di Desa Taddan Kecamatan Camplong Kabupaten Sampang. Metode pengambilan data mangrove menggunakan transek garis dan plot (Line Transect Plot). Hasil penelitian mendapatkan jenis mangrove di lokasi penelitian adalah Rhizophora stylosa, Rhizophora mucronata, Rhizophora apiculata, Sonneratia alba, Avicennia marina, dan Aegiceras cornitulatum. Kesesuaian kawasan untuk dimanfaatkan sebagai kawasan ekowisata bahari kategori mangrove untuk semua stasiun pada kondisi sesuai bersyarat. Daya dukung kawasan menunjukkan hasil kemampuan suatu kawasan dalam menyediakan ruang bagi pemanfaatan sebanyak 199 orang per hari, sedangkan untuk per trip sebanyak 25 orang per trip. Daya dukung pemanfaatan dengan mempertimbangkan persentase kawasan untuk konservasi sebesar 10% maka diperoleh hasil sebanyak 20 orang per hari

Tambakrejo Village is an urban area located in the Jombang District. Tree vegetation continues to decline; one of the factors is the conversion of the function of yardland to residential areas. Changes in the land area will impact the structure of tree vegetation. This research was conducted by purposive sampling in 4 hamlets. Transects and species were included as random effects using the transect quadrat method (quadrat transect) by purposive sampling with tree size (10x10 m<sup>2</sup>). The data analysis was done qualitatively and quantitatively. Quantitative data analysis using vegetation analysis, namely: Importance Value Index (IVI), Dominance (C), and Diversity Index (Ĥ). Strata 3 tree vegetation H’ index in Tambakrejo Village, each hamlet is different, for Tambakberas Hamlet, H’ index value is 3.11%, Gedang Hamlet 2.97%, Nglungu Hamlet 2.91%, and for Petengan Hamlet 2, 89%. Most of the hamlets in Tambakrejo Village fall into medium-level diversity. INP index of Tambakberas Hamlet of 22.59% and lowest 2.07%. Gedang of 27.57% and lowest 2.84%, Nglungu of 19.76%, and lowest 2.86% Petengan of 28.79% and lowest 2.73%, The lowest Important Value Index is due to the transfer of the function of yard land for residential areas.

Kampung Baru is an area on Bintan Island which is located in Sebong Lagoi Village, Teluk Sebong District, Bintan Regency, Riau Islands Province. This study aimed at determine the structure of the macrozoobenthos community, the condition of the physico-chemical parameters of the waters and the relationship between macrozoobenthos and water quality. This research was conducted using a survey method. Sampling site points of this study using random sampling method with 30 sampling site points at high and low tide. The parameters measured are physical, chemical and biological parameters of the water. The results showed that there were 18 species of macrozoobenthos consisting of 4 classes of macrozoobenthos and 3 phylum at 30 sampling site points, namely mollusca, annelida, and arthhopoda phylum. Based on the ecological index value, it is known that the macrozoobenthos species in Kampung Baru waters are still classified as low with disproportionate conditions. The values ​​of diversity index (low), uniformity index (high) and dominance index (low). Water quality of Kampung Baru waters at high tide still meet quality standards of Kepmen-LH No. 51 of 2004, but at low tide the values ​​of temperature, DO, and salinity parameters did not meet quality standards. The relationship between macrozoobenthos parameters and water quality using PCA analysis where density parameters have a relationship with two parameters, namely temperature and pH.

The purpose of this research was to know thehabitat and distribution of MarsupialRats (Echymipera rufescens) on Wamar Island (Wangel Village, Durjela Village, Gunung Sembilan and Back of Wamar Village)Aru Island District. The method used for Marsupial Rats was the catching of wild animals and then the animals that have been capturedin the mark and back again, while for the catching of Marsupial Rats was a tool used is a trap.Analysis of distribution of Marsupial Ratsusing Morista Index while to know the habitat of Marsupial Rats using Line Intercept (line transect) method and the printed path from the analysis to know the pattern of distributionused Morista Index. The result of the research showed that the awareness of the pattern analysis of the Marsupial Rats distribution to the four locations including Wangel Village, Durjela Village, Gunung Sembilan and Back of Wamar Village, from the pattern of horizontal distribution of Marsupial Rats that was the same as random with the index values were Wangel Village was 0.067, Durjela Village was 0.067, Gunung Sembilan village was 0,000, and Back of Wamar village was 0,000. So the pattern of distribution on Wamar Island was random with index value of 0.079. Habitat from the Marsupial Rats own were secondary dryland forest and mixed with shrubs which was his habitat while the feed frm the Marsupial Rats was Galoba, Calladium, Sweet Potato, and Bananas.

Title (Bahasa Indonesia): Struktur komunitas rumput laut di Pulau Mantehage, Provinsi Sulawesi Utara Seaweeds are an important marine resource for coastal community. They are used as medicine, paper materials, biofuel and direct consumption as vegetable or in food industries. Data collection in Mantehage island used Seagrass Watch method combined with line transect method with quadrat. This study found 29 species of seaweeds consisting of 13 species of Chlorophyta, 4 species of Phaeophtya and 12 species of Rhodophyta. Water temperatures ranged from 28–30ºC and pH ranged from 8.14–8.69, while salinity ranged between 30.8–31.9 ppt. Mantehage island waters has 100 % visibility with the current speed range of 30–42 cm/sec. INP of Caulerpa racemosa has the highest value at all sites. Diversity index ranged from 0.799–1.093 considered as low and dominance index ranged between 0.635–0.697 categorized as normal. Eveness index ranged from 0.303–0.365 showing that the seaweed community was under pressures. Rumput laut pada saat ini menjadi komoditas penting bagi masyarakat pesisir. Manfaat rumput laut selain dikonsumsi juga dijadikan sebagai obat, bahan baku kertas dan biofuel. Data di pulau Mantehege dikumpulkan menggunakan metode Seagrass watch yang dikombinasikan dengan metode transek garis dan kuadran. Ditemukan 29 spesies rumput laut yang terdiri dari 13 alga hijau Clorophyta, 4 alga cokelat Phaeyophtya dan 12 alga merah Rhodophyta. Substrat pada lokasi penelitian berupa karang mati dan batu karang. Suhu di perairan Pulau Mantehage di lokasi penelitian berkisar 28–30ºC. pH di lokasi penelitian yaitu 8,14–8,69 dengan salinitas berkisar 30,8–31,9 ppt. Kecerahan di Pulau Mantehege yaitu 100% dan kecepatan arus di kisaran 30–42 cm/detik. Nilai INP Caulerpa racemosa mempunyai nilai tertinggi pada semua lokasi. Indeks Keanekaragaman (H’) pada semua lokasi didapat berkisar 0,799–1,093 yang dikategorikan rendah dan biasa. Nilai Indeks Dominasi (D) pada semua lokasi berkisar antara 0,635–0,697 yang dikategorikan sedang. Indeks Keseragaman (J’) berkisar 0,303–0,365 yang menggambarkan komunitas pada kondisi tertekan.
