Food security has become a concern at national and international scope. Recently, food security has not been widely integrated into education, so the impact is students’ low awareness on it. One solution to overcome the situation is to raise food security literacy by using photovoice through Group Investigation learning model. The purpose of this study is to analyze the awareness and score of students’ scientific paper through the aforementioned methods. Quasi-Experimental Design with Nonequivalent Control Group Design was used. The population was all students of Youth Science Group in X class of SMA (SLUA) Saraswati 1 Denpasar in the second semester of academic year 2015/2016. Sample used were students of X MIA 1 as a control and X MIA 2 as an experimental class. Data collection technique for gaining awareness of students was distributing questionnaires of awareness Assessment results of scientific paper was then assessed by using rubric. Data analysis technique usedwas Mann-Whitney U test. The results of quantitative research show that there wasa difference on the awareness and score of scientific paper between the control and the experimental class with the significant degree of p=0.000<0.05. In conclusion, the food security literacy based on photovoice in Group Investigation learning model increased the awareness and score of students’ scientific paper.

Guided inquiry learning encourages students to be more active in learning so that students' creative thinking skills can be developed. Guided inquiry learning model will assist students in empowering creative thinking skills. Creative thinking skills are described as mental activities that foster original ideas and new understandings. This study aimed to determine the effect of the guided inquiry learning model on the creative thinking skills of Class X MA Miftahul Ulum Bettet Pamekasan. The population in the study were all students of class X MA Miftahul Ulum Bettet Pamekasan second semester 2020/2021, while the samples used were class X IPA B and IPA C. The experimental class and control class each consisted of 20 students. This research is a quantitative research with quasi-experimental research method with pretest posttest nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design. The results of this study indicated that guided inquiry has a significant effect on creative thinking skills. Guided inquiry learning model can be a reference in learning (especially in biology) to empower students' thinking skills.

This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of the Search, Solve, Create, and Share (SSCS) learning model and its impact on the students’ creative problem-solving ability. The study was conducted on eighth-grade students of Junior High School 24 (SMPN 24) Bandar Lampung, Indonesia, on the Substances Pressure subject matter. This is quasi-experimental with non-equivalent control group design. The independent sample t-test showed that the SSCS model influences the students’ creative problem-solving ability, of which the experimental class is higher than the control class. Furthermore, the results of the effect size obtained the d value of 2.39, indicating the SSCS learning model is effective for the students' creative problem-solving ability which belongs to the high category.

This study aims to determine whether there is an influence of the Team Assisted Individually (TAI) learning model through crossword puzzles on student learning interests. This study uses a quantitative research approach with a Quasi Experimental Design research design with the Nonequivalent Control Group Design research design. The sample used was VA class students totaling 37 students as the experimental class and VB class totaling 38 students as the control class at SDN Bandungrejosari 3 Malang City. The instrument used was a questionnaire. Based on the results of hypothesis testing using the t-test with the help of the SPSS 16.0 program for windows, the ttable value was 1.666 and the tcount was 16.136. Sig value (2-tailed) of 0,000. Because the value of tcount > ttable (16,136 > 1,666) and significant 0,000 < 0,05, Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected, so it is concluded that there is a significant effect of the Team Assisted Individually (TAI) learning model through crossword puzzle on the learning interest of students in class V SDN Bandungrejosari 3 Malang City.

Reading is one of the important aspects in the communication process. Reading can make someone better understand the contents of the reading. In learning to make it easier for students to understand the contents of the reading it will be easier if it begins with the ability to determine the main ideas of the paragraph. Based on this, the researcher conducted a study by applying the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) learning model to the ability to determine the main idea of the paragraph at the fifth grade students of SD 003 Pulau Kopung. This study aims to determine the effect of the CIRC learning model on the ability to determine the main ideas of paragraphs of fifth grade students of SD Negeri 003 Pulau Kopung. This research method is a quasi- experimental Nonequivalent Control Group Design. This research was conducted in two classes, the VA class as the control class and VB class as the experimental class with 22 students in each class. The results of the study showed that the CIRC learning model influenced the ability to determine paragraph main ideas with the results of calculations derived from the gain index, the experimental class using the CIRC learning model got an increase in gain of 0.59 with the middle class and the control class with the normal learning model got an increase of 0.31 with medium class.

This study aimed to determine the effect of the implementation of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model with the outdoor approach towards students’ ability in mathematical representation. It was quasi-experimental research consisting of two experimental classes and one control group. It used a pretest-posttest control group design. The population of this study was the students of SUPM Tegal. Sampling was conducted using cluster random consisting of three classes. The first experimental group was carried out by implementing the learning model of CTL with the outdoor approach. The second experimental group was carried out by implementing a learning model of CTL, while the control group was conducted by implementing a conventional learning model. The research instrument was a 7-point mathematical representation test in the form of an essay. The results of the research were 1) the learning model of CTL with an outdoor approach affected the improvement and achievement of the students’ ability in mathematical representation and was higher than CTL and a conventional learning; 2) the improvement of the students’ ability of representation in the groups of CTL with outdoor approach, CTL, and conventional learning respectively was in high, medium, and low category.

This study is aimed at investigating the difference of students’ civics achievement between those who are taught by Think Pair Share model based on concept mapping and those who are taught by conventional learning model of the fifth grade students in Elementary School of Cluster I in Petang District. It is a quasi-experimental research using non-equivalent post-test only control group design. The population of this research is 102 students in grade V in Elementary School of Cluster I Petang District. The samples of this research are fifth grade students of SD Negeri 3 Carangsari as experimental group and fifth grade students of SD Negeri 1 Carangsari as control group. The data of civics achievement were collected by using multiple choice tests. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistical analysis (t-test). The result showed that tcount= 3,83 and ttable = 2,03 (tcount>ttable) which can be concluded that there are significant difference between the students’ civics achievement between those who were taught by Think Pair Share learning model based on concept mapping and those who were taught by the conventional learning model in grade V in Elementary School of Cluster I Petang District of Badung Regency in academic year 2017/2018.

Although it is widely believed that information literacy (IL) competencies are useful in helping students perform better in their schoolwork and beyond, limited empirical evidence is available showing the relationship between IL competencies and IL education. While a lot of research has been done worldwide and most of the findings have proven that IL is a much-needed skill by students, little research has been conducted on IL teaching approaches or what is termed IL pedagogy. To date, studies on IL have mainly focused only on students’ information skills per se, on library skills or on ICT education. None of these studies has assessed the different approaches to IL education. This paper provides an overview of a research study that investigates the impact of an IL teaching approach in the form of personalised coaching, which is grounded in the pedagogy known as mediated learning, on students’ level and applicability of IL competencies. Through the application of a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest control-group design, as well as student responses in the post-experiment semi-structured group interviews, it was found that personalised coaching (or mediated learning) helps students perform better in the learning and application of IL competencies.
