The aim: To elaborate the thermosemiotics of acute and chronic tonsillitis during exacerbation. Materials and methods: 48 patients with acute tonsillitis and 19 patients with chronic tonsillitis were examined during disease exacerbation. Thermographic examination was carried out by the medical thermometer TI-120. Statistical processing of data was carried out with computer program “Microsoft Excel” and “Statistica for Windows” v. 6.0, StatSoft Inc. (USA). Results: Symmetry, homogeneity and isotherm are normal thermographic features of the skin. Presence of hyperthermia in carotid triangle, on the palms were revealed in patients with acute tonsillitis. In chronic tonsillitis in the stage of exacerbation, a moderate overall «warming up» of the neck and projections of the submandibular lymph nodes was also observed. The average temperature indices of the knee joints were statistically significantly higher than the corresponding values in healthy people °C (P<0.01). Conclusion: Only in patients with acute tonsillitis clear strong positive correlation between the temperature of half of the submandibular area and warming in the center of the palm – r = 0.812 ... 0.859 (P<0.01) and in the middle of the tenar on the corresponding side – r = 0.790 ... 0.827 (P<0.01) was observed. Only in the case of chronic tonsillitis, in the stage of exacerbation, the temperature difference over the knees and the lower part of the femur is always greater than 0.5 ºC.

Background: Coronaviruses are a family of viruses that can result in different types of illnesses, most commonly, as Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS). Researches have shown that the atmospheric variables and the density of population have affected the transmission of the disease. Meteorological variables like temperature, humidity among others have found to affect the rise of pandemic in positive or negative ways.  Respiratory virus illnesses have shown seasonal variability since the time they have been discovered and managed. This study investigated the relationship between the meteorological variables of temperature, humidity and precipitation in the spread of COVID-19 disease in the city of Pune. Methods: This record based descriptive study is conducted after secondary data analysis of number of new cases of COVID-19 per day from the period 01 May to 24 December 2020 in Pune. Meteorological data of maximum (Tmax), minimum (Tmin) and daily average temperature (Tavg), humidity and precipitation were daily noted from Indian meteorological department website. Trend was identified plotting the daily number of clinically diagnosed cases over time period. Pearson’s correlation was used to estimate association between meteorological variables and daily detected fresh cases of COVID-19 disease.  Results: Analysis revealed significant negative correlation (r=-0.3563, p<0.005) between daily detected number of cases and maximum daily temperature. A strong positive correlation was seen between humidity and daily number of cases (r=0.5541, p<0.005).Conclusions: The findings of this study will aid in forecasting epidemics and in preparing for the impact of climate change on the COVID epidemiology through the implementation of public health preventive measures.

Behcet’s disease (BD) is a vasculitis of unknown etiology. It is often correlated with thrombophilic factors such as V Leiden. Pulmonary involvement is reported in 1-10% of patients. The most common manifestations are pulmonary aneurysms while pulmonary embolism is a rare complication. A 41-year old man with BD and V Leiden heterozygosity complained of pleurodynia and fever. Pleurodynia deteriorated in the following days and PE was confirmed by CT angiography, without the presence of aneurysms. After the exclusion of the antiphospholipid syndrome, a therapeutic dose of apixaban was initiated. Two weeks later, pleurodynia relapsed in combination with pleural effusion unilaterally. These findings were attributed to disease exacerbation. For this reason, we decided to enhance the immunosuppressive therapy. Six months later, CTPA showed complete remission of the clots. Vasculitis predisposes to thrombosis with or without coexisting thrombophilia. Clinicians should include them in their differential diagnosis and provide personalized treatment, based on immunosuppressants.

Objective: to describe the clinical and epidemiological features of idiopathic inflammatory demyelinating diseases and to determine the factors influencing their course. Materials and methods: the study included 803 patients with idiopathic inflammatory demyelinating diseases using patient questionnaires and scales, laboratory and instrumental research methods. Statistical processing of the results was carried out using a point biserial coefficient and programs for analyzing large data arrays and machine learning. Results: a dynamic increase in the prevalence of some forms of idiopathic inflammatory demyelinating diseases was revealed, the difficulties of differential diagnosis of rare forms of demyelination and the need to create a unified version of their classification are reflected. In the studied population, the effectiveness of liquorological examination in the diagnosis of multiple sclerosis in the early stages of the disease was shown. It has been shown that the likelihood of developing highly active multiple sclerosis is influenced by both a genetic factor and concomitant inflammatory, allergic and autoimmune diseases, surgical interventions, dietary habits, childhood infections, and a history of pregnancy. Conclusions: given the complexity of the differential diagnosis of idiopathic inflammatory demyelinating diseases and the appointment of modifying therapy in multiple sclerosis in the early stages, it is necessary to create a combined classification and maintain a common register.

Objective: To analyze the factors of the course and outcome of pregnancy in women with pubic joint dysfunction (DLS).Materials and Methods: Th e authors performed a retrospective analysis of the course of pregnancy and the outcome of childbirth in women with pubic joint dysfunction (DLS) observed in 2016 – 2019. As a result, data on the clinical course of pregnancy and childbirth in 75 women with DLS were obtained. All women underwent routine clinical and biochemical examinations, ultrasound diagnostics (US), dopplerometry (DPM), and cardiotocography (CTG). Th e analysis of all the above parameters was carried out according to the data of birth histories for 2016-2018. Statistical processing of the obtained results was carried out using the programs Statistica 10 and Microsoft Excel 2013.Results: Clinical manifestations, as well as changes in ultrasound data, became the main factor in deciding on the method of delivery. All patients with second-degree DLS delivered by elective Caesarean section at 39 – 40 weeks of gestation. Women with the fi rst degree of DLS had a vaginal birth. Ultrasound examination in the postpartum period did not reveal an increase in the diastasis of the pubic joint in any woman. All the postpartum women had no complications during the postpartum period. Conclusion: DLS is a serious complication, which can lead to serious consequences in some cases in the postpartum period. It may require surgical treatment and subsequent long-term rehabilitation. For early diagnostics of DLS, it may be advisable to conduct a mandatory ultrasonic examination of the pubic joint, which is the “gold standard” for the diagnosis of this pathology, to all patients during screening ultrasonic examination.
