The researcher aimed at identifying the effect of barnstorming strategy on basketball fundamental skill for Sulaymaniyah sport school club. The researchers used the experimental method on (10) basketball players from Sulaymania sport school club. The program was applied for six weeks with two sessions per week to conclude the positive effect of the teaching program using brainstorming on offensive skills in basketball players. The researchers also concluded that the teaching program was very useful for developing the subjects’ abilities and needs. Finally, they recommended using this style for teaching physical education and sport sciences students as well as using this style for teaching other skills in other sports due to its great positive effect.

Sports games are one of the most effective means for involvement of student youth in exercises and sports, increase their physical activity, which contributes to strengthening their health and motivation to engage in physical education and sports. Sports games contribute to the intensification of the process of development of motor skills of students and improve their psycho-emotional state. The article examines the influence of sports games on the psychophysical state of students. The study was conducted at the National Dragomanov Pedagogical University. The test involved 72 students, including 36 students engaged in various sport games (football, basketball, volleyball), and 36 students who attended scheduled physical education classes and did not additionally play sports. The psychophysical state of students was assessed according to the SAN method and indicators of body mass index, vital index, strength index, Robinson index. It was confirmed that sports games have a positive effect on physical development, functional and psycho-emotional states of students: students who were engaged in sport games at the end of the study had better indicators than students who attended scheduled physical education classes. The high level of indicators of psychophysical state of students will help to improve the success of mastering academic disciplines in the educational process, will provide preparation for active life and will improve their future professional activity.

This study investigated the effectiveness of a creative physical education (CPE) intervention on students’ perceptions of motivational climate in physical education (PE), leisure-time physical activity (PA) motivation, and overall PA. A sample of 382 fourth to sixth grade students ( Mage= 10.87[.93]) from two elementary schools were assigned to the CPE intervention ( n = 196; Mage= 10.84[.95]) and control ‘PE-as-usual’ ( n = 186; Mage= 10.90[.90]) groups. Students’ perceived task- and ego-supportive climate in PE, leisure-time PA motivation, and overall PA were measured before and after the one-year intervention. Analyses of covariance and path analyses were implemented to test the effectiveness of the intervention. The intervention had a positive effect on students’ perceptions of task-supportive climate in PE ( p < .001) and a negative effect on ego-supportive climate ( p < .001). Students’ perceptions of task-supportive climate had a positive effect on their leisure-time PA motivation ( p < .001), which, in turn, had a positive effect on their overall PA ( p < .001). The results suggest that CPE-based PE may increase students’ perceptions of task-supportive climate in PE, which predicts their later leisure-time PA motivation outside the school context and overall PA.

This study examined the ecology of “free gym” as it occurred in both school lunch hour and after-school community settings. In an effort to understand how urban youth experience sport, an ethnography using multiple methods was conducted to ascertain how urban youth shape their own cultures according to the social forces operating within the gymnasium. A period of sustained observation revealed a student-imposed hierarchy that was dominated by skilled male African American basketball players. Status was gained through what occurred within the free-gym ecology. Students often had to learn the system by “serving time” before they could join a desired level of the hierarchy. While a few students thrived in this environment, most merely survived or were marginalized. Such a setting has implications for how physical education and school culture is subjected to wider societal influences. The presence of socially chronic situations such as free gym require a pedagogy that is more democratic and more enriching, thereby moving from the real toward the ideal.

AbstractThe article deals with professional training of future teachers of physical education within the context of leading countries, namely the USA, Great Britain, China, Germany, France. The aforementioned countries are not just leaders in economical development; they are also leaders in sports. The analysis of literature resources allowed revealing a number of peculiarities, implementation of which in the process of professional training of teachers of physical education in Ukraine will have positive impact. They are reorientation of professional training, as well as future activity on health protection of students, individual physical development, skills development, big-scale implementation of health-improving systems, non-standard types of motor activity in educational process. This calls for improvement of medical knowledge, health fundamentals, disease prevention, and injury prevention. Increase of the role and duration of teaching practice and implementation of compulsory year-long training at future workplace are of great importance. Taking into account national traditions, historical experience of the development of physical culture in native land, and introduction of national types of motor activity to the curricula have positive effect. The division on two individual stages is common in professional training of teachers. The first one is primarily oriented on theoretical component of educational, while the second one emphasizes practical activity of a future teacher. Along with standardization, independence and autonomy of educational institutions in matters of professional training organization have positive effect in educational process. Governmental support, namely financing of physical training and sports and educational sphere, improvement of material and technical base, plays a key role in the process of professional training of future teacher of physical education.

Objective: probe into the influence of comprehensive materials multimedia on the students' sports motivation. Methods: the present study proceeds from the mode of teaching in the traditional physical education by the literature method, experimental method, Delphi method and the mathematical statistical analysis method to the comparison of the means of comprehensive materials multimedia in the physical education classes with the traditional education and study by the tool of the Sport Motivation Scale. Results: Practice of comprehensive materials multimedia in physical education can improve the students' sports motivation, activate their intrinsic motivation and guide it into a more active tendency.

In two experiments, we examined whether training with anxiety can prevent choking in experts performing perceptual–motor tasks. In Experiment 1, 17 expert basketball players practised free throws over a 5-week period with or without induced anxiety. Only after training with anxiety did performance no longer deteriorate during the anxiety posttest. In Experiment 2, 17 expert dart players practised dart throwing from a position high or low on a climbing wall, thus with or without anxiety. Again, only after training with anxiety was performance maintained during the anxiety posttest, despite higher levels of anxiety, heart rate, and perceived effort. It is concluded that practising under anxiety can prevent choking in expert perceptual–motor performance, as one acclimatizes to the specific processes accompanying anxiety.

The current study aimed to assess the effect of different leadership styles (Transformational, Transactional and Laissez-faire styles) upon the professional commitment. The study population encompassed the lecturers in Physical Education of all the public colleges in the province Punjab, Pakistan. Due to accessible population, no sampling techniques were preferred in this research study. The total number of lecturers (PE) was 576, in which 210 were male and 366 were female. Selfdeveloped scales were designed and used for data collection. The total 76% return rate of responses was recorded. Inferential and descriptive statistics were used to examine the collected information. On the basis of the findings, it was concluded that there is a positive effect of transactional style of head of institutions leadership upon professional commitment of lecturers (PE). Whereas, Laissez-faire style of leadership has a negative effect upon the professional commitment of lecturers in physical education. It was recommended that seminars and workshops may be arranged for leadership styles.

The research aimed at designing exercises with aiding devices using consistent style and their effect on motor response speed in female basketball players U14. The researchers used the experimental method on (8) players of the season 2019 – 2020. A pilot study was conducted followed by a second pilot study then the training program was applied with 24 teaching sessions distributed on eight weeks. The data was collected and treated using proper statistical operation to conclude that these exercises have a great effect on developing arms motor response speed in female basketball players U14. Finally, they concluded that these exercises develop the mental, physical, and skill abilities as well as motor response speed in many sports as well as fundamental skills in basketball.
