Background: According to WHO, stunting is a state of height-for-age index below minus two standard deviation. However, the condition could be prevented by giving suitable complementary food to babies and toddlers. Moringa leaves are rich in vitamins A, C, B6, as well as calcium, potassium, iron, as well as protein, and are therefore used as complementary foods for breast milk, in baby feeding.Design and Methods: Instant porridge was developed using three formulas. Each formula comprised Moringa leaf flour (5, 6 and 7 grams each) combined with 30 grams of oatmeal powder, 40 grams of powdered formula, 10grams of refined sugar, and 5 grams of banana flour. Results: Based on the organoleptic test, Formula 3 (created with 5 grams of Moringa leaf flour) was discovered to be the best. The organoleptic evaluation panel consisted of 3 trained and 30 untrained participants, while the statistical results showed the parameters of colour, texture, and taste, have no significant effect on panellists’ acceptance. Conclusions: The flavour parameter has a significant effect on panellists’ acceptance, with a p-value <0.05.

"Hyperglycaemia upon admission is a pathophysiological response to acute brain ischemia that has been independently associated with high mortality rate and poor prognosis. Glycaemic variability (GV) has also shown association with poor clinical outcomes among stroke patients. GV is best assessed by continuous glucose monitoring (CGM), which enables consecutives glucose measurements every 5 minutes. This pilot study aimed: 1) To describe safety, feasibility and tolerability of CGM in the acute stroke setting; and 2) To compare CGM and conventional FS glucose-based monitoring regimen in terms of their relationship with GUA and the accuracy of hypoglycaemic episodes detection. Safety, feasibility and tolerability of CGM was excellent in our cohort of 23 patients with acute stroke (61% ischemic and 39% intracerebral haemorrhage) and there were no adverse events. CGM recorded ten hypoglycaemic episodes that were not detected by conventional FS monitoring. GUA was associated with coefficient of variation (CV) of CGM (p=0.03), CV of FS (p=0.01), standard deviation (SD) of CGM (p-value=0.01) and mean amplitude of glucose excursions (MAGE) (pvalue= 0.001)."

Background and purpose Information on the association between anatomical variants of the Circle of Willis (CoW) and intracranial atherosclerotic disease (ICAD) is limited and results are controversial. In this population-based study, we aimed to assess whether an incomplete CoW is associated with high calcium content in carotid siphons (a reliable biomarker of ICAD) in community-dwelling older adults of Amerindian ancestry. Methods Individuals aged ≥60 years enrolled in the Three Villages Study received a head computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance angiogram (MRA) of intracranial vessels. The CoW was classified in complete or incomplete according to the presence or absence of one A1 segment of the anterior cerebral artery or one or both P1 segments of posterior cerebral arteries. Calcium content in carotid siphons was rated as low or high. A multivariate logistic model was fitted to assess the independent association between incompleteness of the CoW and high calcium content in carotid siphons, after adjusting for demographics and cardiovascular risk factors. Results A total of 581 individuals were enrolled (mean age: 71 ± 8.4 years; 57% women). MRA revealed an incomplete CoW in 227 (39%) individuals, and high-resolution CT disclosed high calcium content in carotid siphons in 185 (32%). A risk factor logistic regression model showed no independent association between incompleteness of the CoW and high calcium content in carotid siphons (odds ratio: 0.91; 95% confidence interval: 0.62–1.34; p = 0.631). Conclusion Study results disclosed no association between anatomical variants of the CoW and the presence of high calcium content in carotid siphons.
