At the end of 2016, the Islamic banking market share stood at 356.5 trillion Indonesian rupiahs ($26.7 billion), equivalent to 5.03 per cent of the total banking sector’s assets. Islamic banking assets have risen faster year-on-year compared to conventional banking, registering a growth of 8.8 per cent in 2015 and 20.3 per cent in 2016. The performance of the Islamic banking industry in Indonesia has yet to satisfy the public’s expectations. Although with a market of more than 200 million Muslims, Islamic banks in Indonesia still face difficulties luring more customers and increasing their assets. For three consecutive years, the market share of the sharia banks in the country stood still at less than 5 per cent. According to the Global Advisors Islamic Finance Outlook Report for 2016, no Indonesian Islamic banks were ranked in the top five largest banks based on assets in Southeast Asia. This is an alarming situation for the industry and regulators. Thus, it evokes a question: Is the market becoming saturated for Islamic finance? This study aims to determine the factors that affect the market share of Islamic banks in Indonesia. With a focus on four main items, Islamic banking regulations, Islamic banking inclusion and literacy are still low from conventional banks, Islamic banking still does not have sufficient capital and the number and quality of Human Resources (HR) that are inadequate. This study uses an analytical descriptive study is to describe and analyzed data obtained based on primary and secondary data. While the method used is normative and focused on the study of literature, which is then analyzed qualitatively juridical.

Industri keungan syariah dari tahun ketahun menunjukan tren yang sangat positif. OJK merilis market share perbankan syariah diangka 5%. Salah satu faktor bertahannya perbankan syariah adalah produk pembiayaan. Pembiayaan sebagai jantung dari suatu perbankan. Dan pembiayaan mikro menjadi andalan perbankan dalam menjamah nasabah sampai kepada pelosok desa. Namun, masih kurangnya pendampingan yang dilakukan Bank Umum Syariah menjadikan pembiayaan ini diujung tanduk. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa bagaimana optimalisasi pembiayaan mikro di bank umum syariah dalam pengembangan bisnis UMKM nasabah mikro. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penulisan deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Adapun jenis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data sekunder. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini yaitu dengan menggunakan studi pustaka dan dokumenter.Hasil dan pembahasan adalah dengan melakukan teknik COD (Community Orginizing Development) yaitu adanya mentoring bisnis yang dilakukanoleh perbankan syariah itu sendiri atau dengan lembaga mitra bank umum syariah kepada nasabah pembiayaan mikro. Sharia financial industry shows a very positive trend from year to year. FSA (Financial Service Authority) has released Islamic banking market share of 5%. One of the persistence factors of Islamic banking is financing products, which is the heart of banking, and microfinance becomes a mainstay in serving its customer in the countryside. However, the lack of mentoring run by sharia division of convensional banks has made it not well developed. This study was aimed at analyzing the optimization of micro-financing in syaria division of conventional bank in the business development of SMEs micro customers. This is a descriptive qualitative research and the data used in this research were secondary data. Data were collected through literary and documentary study. This research found that the optimalization of micro financing in Islamic banks was done through COD (Organizing Community Development), i.e., the business mentoring done by the Islamic banking itself or by a partner institution of syaria division of conventional bank to microfinance customers.

The overall market share of Islamic finance is still below 5% of the total national banking market share. One reason is consumers or the public is still lack of knowledge, understanding and consumer loyalty that is still low on Islamic banks. This research develops an android-based educational application and tests the effectiveness of the application on improving the knowledge of employees of the Baitul Yataama Fadlan Foundation about Islamic banking. Respondents used educational applications and studied Islamic banking content for 2 days. Before and after the respondents used the application, a survey was conducted by asking various questions. The survey aims to see the knowledge of respondents before and after the use of the application, whether there is a significant increase. The results of the first survey using a questionnaire showed results of 47%. Then a second survey was conducted with a result of 67%. There is an increase in the percentage of respondents who answered knowing of Islamic banking by 20%. It can be concluded that the application of Islamic banking education has a significant effect in increasing the knowledge of the respondents.

Sharia banking has been growing in many countries since the birth of post-neo revivalist movement in the mid-20th century. The development of Indonesian sharia banking began with a workshop related with interests and banking held by MUI in Cisarua on 18th to 20th of August 1990. Since 1992 to 2013 it has been established 11 sharia commercial banks and 24 sharia conventional banks that open sharia business units and 156 Islamic Financing Bank. In terms of existing office, Islamic banks in Indonesia have reached 1737 bank offices and also Islamic bank units. Moreover, the market share of Islamic banking has almost reached 5% of the total market share banking in Indonesia. Islamic banking also has a mortgage product that is essentially different from the existing mortgage in the conventional banking. It is expected that the Islamic mortgage product will result a profit. The product is a product released for customers who require financing from Islamicbank to have a house. This early study used literature review method and secondary data. This study built an analysis of the mortgage program issued by Islamic banks in Indonesia. Research concludes that the notion of Islamic banking on mortgage product, especially Islamic financing mortgage, from the internal party has not well distributed yet.

<p>This study aims to analyze the performance of Islamic banks and conventional banks before and after the implementation of Islamic Banking Act 2008. The performance will be measured using CAMEL ratio selected. This research is considered essential in examining the positive contribution of the application of the Act to improve the performance of Islamic banks in Indonesia. By using secondary data, this study compared the performance of Islamic banks with that conventional bank selected as samples during the study period. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test for inter-temporal and Mann-Whitney test for inter-bank. Inter-temporal Tests conducted on Islamic Banking showed that a significant difference was only seen in the NPF ratio of 2 years before and after implementation of Islamic Banking Act. As for conventional banks showed a more diverse ie for 1 year before and after the application of the Law on Islamic Banking there are significant differences for the ROA and ROE, two years before and after implementation of the Law Islamic banking there are significant differences for the CAR, ROA, ROE and NIM and for the overall test a significant difference to CAR, ROA, ROE, NIM and efficiency. Inter-bank testing showed that prior to the application of Islamic Banking Act there are significant differences between conventional banks and Islamic banks to CAR, ROA and efficiency. Furthermore, after the application of Islamic Banking Act there is a significant difference for the CAR and LDR / FDR.</p>

AbstractThe purpose of this paper is to investigate the variables that influence Islamic banking markets in Indonesia. The research data were obtained directly from the website of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and the financial services authority(OJK) from 2011-2018 which were taken on a quarterly basis. This study uses multiple regression analysis to analyze the factors that have an impact on the market share of Islamic banks in Indonesia. The variable that can affect Islamic banking marketshare in Indonesia is the liquidity ratio (FDR). While other variables such as the default rate (NPF), profit rate (ROA), economic growth (GDP) and conventional bank interest rates (INT) do not affect Islamic banking. The results suggest that Islamic banking regulates liquidity ratios (FDR) so that Islamic banking can effectively increase its market. This study complements previous research so that Islamic banking maintains a liquidity ratio in order to remain balanced.Keywords: marketshare, Islamic banking, FDR, GDP, ROA

The presence of Islamic banking in Indonesia is one form of progress and development of the Islamic finance industry in Indonesia. However, for more than 20 years, Islamic banking has apparently not been able to grow optimally and experienced a slowdown in its growth. Islamic banks need to increase their market share and also need to identify which attributes are most considered by the potential customers, especially the millennials whose number is large. This study aims to find out which attributes are most considered in using Islamic banking services. This study uses primary data by distributing online questionnaires to 180 university students in Bandung, namely Unpad, ITB and UPI students. To analyze the data, Rasch analysis was used. The results of Rasch analysis show that cleanliness, friendliness, and Islamic principles turned out to be the most considered attributes in selecting Islamic banking in Indonesia. Given that these three attributes are the most considered, it is expected that Islamic banking strengthen these three aspects in order to increase the market of Islamic finance industry markets.

Indonesia has the largest Muslim population in the world. With this amount, of course, it should be a capital for economic strength. However, as of November 2020, data released by the Financial Services Authority put the Islamic banking market share at 6.33%. Efforts to merge the three state-owned Sharia banks into Indonesian Sharia Banks are expected to increase the penetration of the sharia economy in Indonesia, which is still far behind when compared to conventional domestic economic movements and Islamic financial transactions in other countries. This research will describe the extent of the sharia economic conditions in Indonesia after the merger of state-owned sharia banks into BSI. This study uses a qualitative method with a type of literature review research which is obtained from various authentic sources such as books, articles, journals and trusted websites. There was a 2.7% increase in the market share of Islamic banks after the merger. This increase when compared to the existing potential and the market is still very small. However, it is hoped that this impact will continue to increase over time, especially as capital support for various financial sectors and the halal industry in the country.

Indonesian Islamic banking market share projected by Bank Indonesia is an integral part in developing the industry in the country. By setting a projection which will then be used as a benchmark / target, Islamic banks can make a necessary program to attract new customers which eventually increase its asset. If the increase of the asset is significant,the Islamic bank market share may increase. The problem is that the current projection by Bank Indonesia seems to be off target. It means that the projection is pretty much above the actual value. This paper attempts to utilize two projection methods namely Spline and Auto-ARIMA which we think can provide a better result. This study uses the monthly data covering period since January 2006 until December 2012. The result shows that our projections, especially using Spline method, are closer to the actual value of the Islamic banking industry market share. It means that the gap between the projection and the actual value of market share is lesser than the gap on the Bank Indonesia calculation. Moreover, this study argue that, the projection of the Islamic banking market share made by BI will not be achieved unless with government support. So far, government has not made any policy which deposit some of the national budget in the Islamic bank. This study calculates that if government regularly depositing 1% of total National Government Budget in Islamic banks, the projection of Islamic banking market share made by BI will be acheived. Islamic banking is a banking system that is based on the principles of sharia or Islamic law. The principles of Islamic finance forbid interest - this is commonly known as riba - charity (zakat), forbid high risk (gharar), forbid some transactions like gambling, and are based on PLS (Profit-Loss Share). The most important concept is that both charging and receiving interest are strictly forbidden; money may not generate profits. Islamic banks have largely survived the global economic crisis intact and they offer a safer operation than conventional banks. CAMEL analysis is a supervisory rating system to classify a bank's overall condition according to Capital (C), Assets (A), Management (M), Earnings (E) and Liquidity (L). In the analysis a variety of indicators were calculated based on data from the annual reports. The results of the four banks were averaged separately, then classified (1 = good, 2 = adequate, 3 = satisfactory, 4 = acceptable, 5 = unacceptable) according to the desired criteria, the changes over the years and the relative values of the four banks.

<p>The Islamic banking industry is currently one of the main indicators of the development of Islamic economics in Indonesia. In Islamic banking issue, one of the important issues is related to people's preferences and behavior towards Islamic banks. The study of the criteria for selecting a bank has been the concern of many bank marketing researchers. Compared to conventional, such studies are relatively minimal, especially in Indonesia. This study tries to analyze the preferences and behavior of criteria for selection of Islamic banks in Indonesia through the Analytical Network Process (ANP) approach.The results conclude that the most priority criteria that influence the selection of Islamic banks in Indonesia are service factors and religiosity factors or the suitability of banks with sharia principles. Therefore, Islamic banks need to constantly improve the quality of services both services and products so that they can compete with conventional banks.</p><p>Industri perbankan syariah saat ini merupakan salah satu indikator utama perkembangan ekonomi Islam di Indonesia. Dalam masalah perbankan syariah, salah satu masalah penting adalah terkait dengan preferensi dan perilaku pemilihan masyarakat terhadap bank syariah. Studi tentang kriteria pemilihan bank syariah telah menjadi perhatian banyak peneliti. Studi tersebut relatif minimal jika dibandingkan dengan bank konvensional, terutama di Indonesia. Penelitian ini mencoba menganalisis preferensi dan perilaku pemilihan kriteria bank syariah di Indonesia melalui pendekatan Analytical Network Process (ANP). Hasilnya menyimpulkan bahwa kriteria yang paling prioritas yang mempengaruhi nasabah dalam memilih bank syariah di Indonesia adalah faktor layanan dan faktor religiusitas atau kesesuaian bank dengan prinsip syariah. Oleh karena itu, bank syariah perlu terus meningkatkan kualitas layanan baik produk maupun jasa sehingga mereka dapat bersaing dengan bank konvensional.</p>
