This study aims to find out the translation techniques, the dominant one used by the translator in translating the booklets and the process of translating the dominant technique. It uses the theory of Molina and Albir, which are adaptation, amplication, borrowing, calque, compensation, description, discursive creation, established equivalent, generalization, linguistic amplication, linguistic compression, literal translation, modulation, particularization, reduction, substitution, transposition, and variation. In analyzing the data, the research was conducting by using mixed method research which involved collecting both quantitative and qualitative data. The data were taken from “Medan and Deli Serdang Tourism Booklet” which consist of Bahasa and translate into English. In Medan Tourism Booklet the result of literal translation 136 sentences (81,43%) belongs to dominant technique that applied in the booklet, followed by transposition 13 sentences (7,78%), adaptation 8 sentences (4,80%), borrowing 3 sentences (1,80%), amplification 2 sentences (1,20%), description 2 sentences (1,20%), reduction 2 sentences (1,20%) and generalization 1 sentence (0,60%). In Deli Serdang Tourism Booklet the result of literal translation 61 sentences (79,22%) belongs to dominant technique that applied in the booklet, followed by transposition 7 sentences (9,09%), reduction 3 sentences (3,89%), discursive creation 2 sentences (2,60%), particularization 2 sentences (2,60%), adaptation 1 sentence (1,30%) and borrowing 1 sentence (1,30%). There are three process in translating the dominant technique 1) analysis, 2) transfer and 3) restructuring.

This article aims to investigate the conceptions and perceptions of students from the 8th and 9th year of the middle school regarding the four scopes of basic sanitation articulated with the themes addressed in the curriculum each year. Forty-nine students from a state school in Estância Velha/RS participated with activities involving questionnaires application, photovoice and image evaluations from the perspective of Mixed Method Research. Qualitative data were from observations present in the logbook and answers to the open-ended questions of the questionnaires. The quantitative are the scores attributed by the students analysed with the tools of descriptive statistics and with the non-parametric test of Kruskal-Wallis. The results showed that the use of images and the attribution of scores articulated with qualitative data were fruitful to understand the perceptions and conceptions of the students. It was evidenced that sewage and water supply were the most frequently remembered elements regarding basic sanitation, followed by solid waste. However, drainage was not remembered as a component of basic sanitation, requiring the construction of integrative educational practices from the four scopes seeking to expand students' perceptions and conceptions about basic sanitation and its relevance in contemporaneity.

Purpose: This study was done to investigate the mediating effect of occupational stress on the relationship between ICU nurse’s authentic leadership and turnover intention, and to analyze the causes of turnover in ICU nurses. Methods: A convergent mixed method was used. Participants were 100 out of 207 ICU nurses in the original data that were acquired in Daegu, Ulsan, and Busan, in February and March 2017. Participants were asked with open-ended question: "what are the causes for turnover intention" and summative content analysis and thematic analysis were done. Results: The mean scores for authentic leadership, occupational stress, and turnover intention were 3.09, 43.74, and 45.66, respectively. Occupational stress showed full mediation in the relationship between authentic leadership and turnover intention. The qualitative data showed that the most causes of turnover intention were in the organization (60.6%) instead of individuals (39.4%). Conclusion: Authentic leadership influenced the ICU nurse’s turnover intention via the full mediating effect of occupational stress. The ‘organization-oriented variables’ play a more important role than 'individual-oriented variables' in the reduction of the turnover intention of ICU nurses. The findings from this study may be useful in reducing turnover intention.

The feeling of empathy is as old as the humankind. Empathy is an attempt to perceive the emotions and to understand the thoughts of other individuals and discern their point of view. Due to such aspects, empathy presents “a focus on other individuals”. In general terms, empathy was defined as “adopting a sensitive attitude towards correctly understanding the emotions and thoughts of another individual, encountering any event, through placing oneself in the place of that individual during the process of communication.”The present study was intended to determine the effects of the communication and immigration subjects in the 7th grade social studies course on the empathy skills of students through employing the didactic approach, which is one of the techniques for empathy development.Concurrent nested (embedded) design, a mixed research method, was employed in the present study. Mixed-method research is defined as the approach through which the researcher draws conclusions by using the advantage of integrating qualitative and quantitative methods, approaches and concepts in a study or consecutive studies with the aim to understand diverse research models. The quantitative data in the present study were obtained via the “Index of Empathy for Children and Adolescents”, whereas the qualitative data were collected through interview forms.Almost all students emphasized the significance of empathy and understanding the feelings of the migrants for understanding the causes and consequences of immigration throughout the activities related to immigration.
