Yogyakarta's tourism potential from asset uniqueness and heritages is a major factor in tourism development in Yogyakarta. This is a responsibility that must be realized by all stakeholders of tourism so that tourism assets uniqueness of ancestral heritage in Yogyakarta becomes a tourist attraction as a capital of local wisdom in the concept of branding city of Yogyakarta. The participation of communities and local governments in managing sustainable tourism development programs is also an important aspect to develop of a new brand city of Yogyakarta. There is limited public awareness of the existence of excellence asset heritages of Yogyakarta which is a selling point in branding the city. This study aims to identify and know the role of branding through the cultural heritage of Yogyakarta cultures and culinary products in marketing strategy to the development of tourism in Yogyakarta. This research use qualitative research that can focus on the problems encountered, as well as with a process methodology that illustrates how qualitative training can provide many uses and benefits for more effective and in-depth research. The fact is that the numbers of foreign tourists who visit the tourism site still do not meet the expected target compared to the number of domestic tourists. Therefore it is necessary to research and empower the community to be able to change the mindset & to have more concern to provide positive supports for Yogyakarta tourism development so that it is more competitive in global competition. This research has a specific purpose: (i) determine the potential of coastal area can be developed as a tourism product, (ii) Knowing constraints are faced in developing the tourism potential, and (iii) determine strategies that can be used in developing the tourism potential of the coast as a creative tourism products Yeh Gangga Beach, Sudimara village, Tabanan Bali. The general objective to be achieved is to improve the performance of the tourism sector in the welfare of society Tabanan through sustainable tourism development by developing creative potential.. The research found that (i) Yeh Gangga Beach has some potential creativity attraction, such as : art market, handycraft,video and photography, music and art performance, scenery, and accomodation; (ii) The main problems encountered are (i)Most strategic land has been switched ownership to investors. The strategy should be applied is (i) Maintain Yeh Gangga Beach as tourist attraction developed Tabanan through local regulations, (ii) increasing public awareness of tourism. The implications are (i) theoretically enriching literature of sustainability in tourism coastal area, (ii)practically could enhance the government to develop coastal tourism in Tabanan Bali.

This paper focuses on the role of local governments in the development of tourism in China by examining 30 Chinese provinces from 2000 to 2018. The results of empirical research show that fiscal decentralization in China provides local governments with incentives for the development of high pollution industries and of large state-owned enterprises, which do not help the sustainable development of tourism. In addition, there is an “inverted U-shaped” relationship between pollution level and tourism development. Although the growth of China’s tourism industry is pollution-based currently, tourism revenue is considered to decline once a threshold is reached. The competition from local governments for foreign investment is conducive to the improvement of environmental quality and increase in tourism revenue. Based on this, we have proposed a series of sustainable tourism development measures.

Contemporary trends on the world tourism market show that the number of tourists attracted by the cities in growing. Urban tourism is a growing tourism market and especially are attractive the cities in Europe. The cities as an important tourist destinations came of age during 1980s. The local governments came to recognize that tourism could have a role in urban economic development. The invisibility of tourism in cities partly arises from the fact that many facilities are used both by residents and visitors. Improving these facilities therefore provides benefits for local residents as well as assisting the promotion of tourism. City tourism development plan should be prepared as an integral part of global economic and social development plan of the city, with the main aim to integrate the tourism in existing urban economic development, and at the same time to prevent conflict situations. Tourism development in the city needs a network and cooperative relationships between local government, tourist organization, tourist agencies and different organizations/institutions in the city; public-private partnership is a must. In the paper are analyzed the main attributes, principles and goals of the tourism in the cities.

This article discusses the role of women in supporting sustainable tourism development in Bali by promoting Balinese cuisine to the tourism world. To date, studies on the role of Balinese women in the tourism industry have looked mainly at women as ordinary workers or professionals. In fact, Balinese women operate as culinary entrepreneurs who have not only been successful in introducing Balinese cuisine to the world of tourism but have opened up job opportunities for men and women alike. The data presented in this article was collected through observation of four leading Balinese women who run successful local culinary outlets or restaurants offering local dishes, and is complemented by interviews and other published sources relating to their business activities. The four pioneering women surveyed are Men Tempeh of Gilimanuk (West Bali) serving chicken betutu, the suckling pig restaurant manager Ibu Oka in Ubud, the owner of Made’s Warung Ni Made Masih, and the catering company owner Ibu Warti Buleleng, based in Denpasar. This article concludes that these four Balinese culinary heroines or srikandi have successfully managed to preserve and promote Balinese dishes to the world of tourism while contributing to the sustainable development of Balinese tourism by providing opportunities for tourists to experience local cuisine.

The paper presents an overview of the expected role of spatial and environmental planning in coordination and integration with strategic planning for sustainable spatial/territorial, landscape and tourism development. The application of an integrated approach to sustainable territorial development planning and management in the European Union is also analyzed in the context of problems associated with and possibilities to enhance the European Landscape Convention and Agenda for a sustainable and competitive European tourism implementation. We have analyzed the contributions of reforms that have so far been implemented in current legislation and of planning bases to the establishment of coordinated sustainable territorial development planning and management in Serbia and to the procurement of support for the integration of sustainable tourism development and landscape planning and management into the process of spatial, environmental and sectoral planning. The approach to and problems of landscape protection and sustainable tourism development occurring in the practice in spatial planning are analyzed through examples of a new generation of spatial plans - the Spatial Plan of the Republic of Serbia, and a spatial plan of the special-purpose area for the Nature Park and Tourism Region of Stara Planina Mountain. Through the example of Mt Stara Planina, the role of strategic environmental assessment in coordination with spatial and sectoral planning is analyzed, as well as potential contribution to landscape integration and sustainable tourism development in the process of planning. The possibilities for better coordination of Serbian strategic planning in achieving the sustainable spatial and tourism development, and possibilities to integrate landscapes into the planning process are indicated.

Medan City is currently designated as one of the 20 national tourism destinations that implement Sustainable Tourism Development (STD) in Indonesia. The commitment to implement STD nationally is marked by the signing of the text of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) of 20 Regional Heads who are committed to implementing STD together with the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism. Furthermore, under the supervision of the Republic of Indonesia Ministry of Tourism, 20 existing Regencies / Cities made various improvements in each region so that they were finally eligible for STD certification from the STD international certification body. Medan City itself, through the Medan City Tourism Office, related to the implementation of the STD, has established a number of leading tourism destinations. It is hoped that in the future, Medan City will have tourist destinations that have received STD certification. This research was conducted to formulate a model of implementing sustainable tourism development in Medan with a total sample of 220 people spread over 11 leading tourist destinations in the city of Medan, samples were taken with a purposive random sampling technique. The research variables used include; sustainable management, socio-cultural benefits, economic benefits for the surrounding community, environmental benefits and the application of sustainable tourism. Data analysis was carried out with a structural model of the Structural Equation Model (SEM) with the help of Amos 22 software. The results showed that the management aspects, economic aspects, socio-cultural aspects of environmental aspects, and the impact of tourism, directly and indirectly, have a positive effect on the implementation of sustainable tourism in the city of Medan.

Semangat desentralisasi yang melimpahkan kewenangan pengelolaan keuangan kepada pemerintah daerah,  khususnya tingkat kota atau kabupaten membuat daerah mencari cara mendapatkan pendapatan daerah yang sah untuk mendukung program pembangunan dalam bentuk Infrastruktur untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat, di tengah gencarnya program pembangunan perekonomian di berbagai sektor, sehingga berimplikasi kepada pembangunan yang berkelanjutan dan berdampak luas pada penambahan pendapatan masyarakat sehingga pertumbuhan ekonomi meningkat secara positif . Perangkat Daerah yang terkait di dalam proses penerimaan daerah di pacu untuk meningkatkan peluang penerimaan daerah dari semua sektor pendapatan daerah. dengan paradigma pembangunan berkelanjutan (sustainable development) yang harus diimplementasikan oleh pemerintah daerah. Fakta empiris (empirical evidents) menunjukkan penerapan otonomi  daerah  memberi keleluasaan kepada daerah untuk  mendapatkan sumber sumber pendapatan yang sah seperti pajak dalam bentuk Dana Bagi Hasil baik dari Pemerintah Pusat maupun Pemerintah Provinsi dan retribusi daerah dengan luasnya kewenangan pemerintah daerah. Kata kunci : Dana Bagi Hasil, Infrastruktur dan Pertumbuhan Ekonomi                                                                       ABSTRACT                                                               Regional Finance is all Regional rights and obligations that can be valued with money and everything in the form of money and goods related to the implementation of the rights and obligations of the Region. The spirit of decentralization that delegated financial management authority to local governments, especially at the city or district level, made the regions look for ways to obtain legitimate regional revenues to support development programs in the form of infrastructure to improve community welfare amid the intense economic development programs in various sectors, thus implicating development sustainable and have a broad impact on increasing community income so that economic growth increases positively. Regional Apparatus that is related to the process of regional revenue is encouraged to increase the opportunities for regional revenues from all regional income sectors. with a sustainable development paradigm that must be implemented by the regional government. Empirical evidence shows the application of regional autonomy which gives freedom to the regions to obtain legitimate sources of income such as taxes in the form of Revenue Sharing Funds from both the Central and Provincial Governments and regional retributions with the broad authority of the regional government. The world of tourism is something that has an important influence on the development and development of a country. The development of tourism will not be separated from physical and non-physical elements. Physical and non-physical elements will be considered in relation to the carrying capacity of objects and consideration of the impacts arising from tourism development. Tourism development must be based on planning, development and management direction. Local governments have an important role in tourism development. Lake Sipin is a lake located in the middle of the city of Jambi. Lake Sipin will definitely be very interesting, if it is packaged in such a way. The purpose of this study is to identify the effect of tourism product revitalization on preferences, identify the effect of tourism product revitalization and preferences on visiting decisions and identify preferences able to mediate the effect of tourism product revitalization on visiting decisions The population of this study is the Jambi city community while the sample is the Jambi city community which more than once visited the attractions of Lake Sipin Jambi as many as 150 people. The data method uses path analysis. The results of the study note that the revitalization of tourism products has a significant influence on the preferences of visitors to the Lake Sipin Jambi tourist attraction, the revitalization of tourism products and visitor preferences have a significant influence on the decision to visit the Lake Sipin Jambi tourist attraction and the visitor's preferences are able to mediate the effect of tourism product revitalization on the decision visited the attractions of Lake Sipin Jambi

The endeavor of the chapter is to inspect the perception of residents, tourists, hoteliers, and travel agents in respect to sustainable development of tourism and to study the role of tourism stakeholders in promotion of sustainable tourism in North India and to suggest the measures for promotion of sustainable tourism in the study area. Based on a survey of initially, 71 items emerged, but after survey, only 43 items were found significant. Likert-type scale values assigned, 1 to “strongly agree,” 2 to “agree,” 3 to “neither agree nor disagree,” 4 to “disagree,” and 5 to “strongly disagree,” was provided to the subjects for them to use in indicating the importance of each of the 71 general sustainable tourism development statements. Of 2300, only 1380 (60%) respondents completed the questionnaires and were valid. The data are analyzed with the statistical package program for social sciences (SPSS 12 for Windows). The basic analysis and tests utilized in this study includes descriptive-statistics analysis, factor analysis, mean and bivariate statistical procedures, etc. The study provides a strong indication that there are significant differences among tourism stakeholders on sustainable tourism development parameters. This research highlights the changes that sustainable tourism development has brought to the community and presents the various perceptions of stakeholders in this particular setting. The research demonstrates that to plan for more sustainable forms of tourism development, the subjective perspectives and the roles of all stakeholders need to be understood and integrated into a responsive planning framework.

Local governments around the world are becoming aware of the importance of identifying and marketing their local assets to promote economic competitiveness. Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) have proven useful in supporting marketing activities in the private sector, but there is still little exploration on their use in the public sector. However, ICT effectiveness is constrained by institutional arrangements and the coordination of the marketing efforts with other government processes such as urban planning and strategy development. The purpose of this chapter is to discuss the strategic scaffolding for ICT as a key component of a city’s marketing strategy using as an example the city of Puebla in Mexico. Although city marketing efforts and ICT use are still at its initial stages in the city, lessons from current efforts in Puebla are related to the key role of stakeholder networks, ICT interoperability, Geographic Information Systems, and government program continuity.
