As one of the strategic means of enhancing future competence and career, every individual, including teachers, is strongly encouraged to pursue a higher degree. Nevertheless, lack of financial ability may become one of the debilitating hindrances for the teachers to pursue a higher degree, mainly overseas. Currently, however, the Indonesian Government strives to support Indonesians to pursue a higher degree through a scholarship mechanism called the Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education, or popularly called as LPDP. Simultaneously, various scholarship mechanisms are also offered by several governing bodies in national or international contexts, such as Australia Awards, Chevening, Fulbright, DAAD, and many others. Therefore, this community empowerment project aims to enhance the understanding of schoolteachers, student-teachers, and other education communities regarding the administrative and technical preparation to register for a scholarship and prepare for overseas study. Moreover, the participants were also expected to comprehend the academic and social conditions while studying abroad, as well as the impact of pursuing a higher degree in their future competence and career. 535 participants were attending this community empowerment program in total.

The article is devoted to the European Parliament elections held in May 2014. Their results are analyzed on two levels – national and pan-European. On the national one the authors provide case studies of the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Poland, Italy and Greece. The impact of economic crisis and later the severe public debt crisis in Eurozone countries on the EU Parliament elections is estimated. Another factor examined in the study is the public awareness of the EU’s institutions in everyday life. The authors point out the contradiction between the public opinion on these institutions and the ongoing process of further integration due to the crises in such fields as finances and government expenditures. The latest process is viewed by the experts as a positive one, but the lack of public understanding resulted in abstention, protest voting and the rise of right-wing and populist parties. The national case studies showed that the situation varied from country to country. In some of them the pan-European agenda has played a greater role, in others it influenced the elections, but in the end they were mainly a referendum on the national government performance. The case of the UK illustrated the first tendency, but partly also the second one: the elections not only put the question about the country’s role in the EU, but also reflected the citizens’ discontent in mainstream politics. France, Greece and partly Italy showed that the voters disapprove the EU politics, especially concerning such fields as immigration and economic and debt crisis. The Polish case demonstrates that the lack of information on the EU’s institutions can jeopardize the positions of centrist parties even in a very pro-European country. The election results in FRG confirm that the Germans are trying to identify their country’s role in the European institutions and find the right attitude toward its growing responsibility for the integration process.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the impact of community empowerment programs conducted by PT. STM to the social and economic life of society, both directly and indirectly. Technical analysis of the data used in the method of qualitative research is data reduction, data display and conclusion; Technical analysis of the data that is used mainly on quantitative methods are counting frequency. The results showed that in terms of direct benefits, the vast majority of corporate social responsibility is embodied in the form of community empowerment program very useful. However, if the terms of the indirect benefits of community empowerment programs implemented by the company is still less perceived benefits. This can be understood as the activities carried out by PT. East Sumbawa Mining (STM) are still at the exploratory stage and given the share of allocation of funds spent on community empowerment program is still relatively small compared to the total allocation of development funds in the District of Hu'u. Social impact is more felt by the people than the economic impact. It is due to that ComDev in economics is relatively small when compared to the social sector, both in terms of budget as well as routine and sustainability programs.

The impact is not only on the aspect of the safety of people's lives, but can be felt in the political economy, especially in third world countries such as Indonesia. Not a few efforts have been made by the central government to date but have not provided the effectiveness as it should. Until finally, the government implemented a New Habit policy in daily activities which is also called New Normal. Since the start of the New Normal era during the COVID-19 pandemic conditions, people have been able to carry out activities almost as usual, but by still implementing health protocols. It's just that what often happens is that people, especially in mosques, are still many congregations who do not comply with the rules of the health protocol which may be due to a lack of self-awareness and also the lack of facilities and health protocol appeals. This needs to be done to increase public awareness, especially the congregation of Al-Ikhlas Mosque in West Jakarta about the dangers of the covid-19 virus and how to prevent its transmission through PHBS tips or Clean and Healthy Living Behavior. Keywords: COVID-19, Health Protocol, Pandemic, New Normal, PHBS

The community empowerment program is a program that is carried out with assistance and has a plan of up to five years. The empowerment program will be evaluated after one year of program implementation to see the impact of the program for the community. One of the programs is Berdikari Peat Village, which is an empowerment program for the Volunteer Fire Brigade called Masyarakat Peduli Api (MPA). One way to evaluate an empowerment program is to compile a Community Satisfaction Index (IKM). The concept of IKM will evaluate the program from the beginning of program planning, program implementation, to program exit so that the overall implementation of the program to the public is seen. This research was conducted with quantitative methods in the Berdikari Peat Village Kampung program which was carried out in Bukit Batu District, Bengkalis Regency, Riau Province. The conversion of SMI values varies from 25 to 100 with the symbol value A (Very Good) to D (Very Bad). The results showed a high Community Satisfaction Index in the empowerment program carried out by PT Pertamina RU II Sungai Pakning, with a score of 84.6 with a symbol of A.
