The purpose of this study was to determine the ability of mathematical representation through an open-ended approach to functional material in class VIII MTs. Sirajul Ulum Pontianak. The research method used was the experimental method with Quasi experimental research and the design used in this study was posttest-only control design. The results obtained were (1) the average ability of students' mathematical representation after being taught with an open-ended approach was 72 with the criteria classified as good; (2) The average mathematical representation ability of students is 57 with criteria classified as sufficient; and (3) The ability of mathematical representations given to the treatment of open-ended approaches is better than students given the treatment of conventional learning models, this can be seen from the average results and has been proven using inferential statistics. Every student in the control class or experiment experiences problems on each indicator, which is what distinguishes the average.

The purpose of this research was to determine the upgrade mathematical representations of college students using learning based theory Valsiner better than the ability of mathematical representations of students who use conventional learning models and know the rest of the indicator to which students have difficulty in solving problems ability mathematical representations after being given learning based Theory Valsiner. The method used is a quasi-experimental. The population in this study are prospective teachers of mathematics education in universities Siliwangi Tasikmalaya. While the subject of the sample were college students who follow courses in semester V probability theory which consists of an experimental class and the control class in Mathematics Education. Samples were taken at random based on class, grade VB as experimental class amount 34 students, and the class as a class VD control with the amount of 34 students. The technique of collecting data using mathematical representations ability tests. The research instrument set of test questions. Data were analyzed using two different test average. From processing data analysis and hypothesis testing using real level test a = 1% result increased ability mathematical representations of students by using learning based on theory Valsiner better than the ability of mathematical representations of students who use conventional learning models, and the greatest difficulties experienced by students in solving ability representation mathematics is the visual representation indicator with a percentage of 39.71%

This study began with many students having low concept comprehension skills. This can be seen from the learning process that there are still many students who are less active, and there are still many students who still get grades below the KKM. the purpose of this study was to determine the ability to understand students 'mathematical concepts using the Think Talk Write learning model better than students' ability to understand mathematical concepts using conventional learning models in class VIII MTs Al-Ihsan. The type of this research is experimental, the design is Quasi Experimental, with Randomized Subjects Posstest Only Control Group Design. The sampling technique in this study is cluster random sampling, where class VIII.3 was chosen as the experimental class and class VIII.5 as the control class. Data collection techniques through concept understanding tests, then data analysis techniques used are inferential statistical analysis using the "t" test (Independent Sample t Test). Based on the results of research testing the hypothesis of this study obtained t count = 2.061 t table = -1.999. This means that the ability to understand mathematical concepts of students using Think Talk Write learning models is better than the ability to understand mathematical concepts of students using conventional learning models in class VIII MTs Al-Ihsan

This research is an experimental research with the aim to know: (1) improvement of the average of mathematical representation skills of class VIII student of SMP Negeri 2 Uluiwoi before getting learning with contextual approach; (2) improvement of the average of mathematical representation skills of grade VIII student of SMP Negeri 2 Uluiwoi before getting learning with conventional approach; (3) an average increase in student representation skills taught by a contextual learning approach is better than an increase in the average of mathematical representation skills taught by conventional learning. The population in this study is all students of class VIII SMP Negeri 2 Uluiwoi academic year 2016/2017 spread in 2 parallel classes with the number of 46 people. The population consists of two classes, then the sample is chosen by specifying the first class as the experimental class and the second class as the control class, assuming that the two classes are statistically homogeneous. This data collection technique uses test and observation techniques. Data analysis techniques use descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The results of empirical research indicate that; (1) Improvement of mathematical representation skills of class VIIIA students taught by using contextual learning model consisting of 24 students showed average value 46,25 and deviation standard 7,409 with mean increase or average N-Gain value 0, 42 is in the medium category. The improvement of the mathematical representation skills of VIIIB class students taught by using conventional learning model which consist of 22 students shows the average value 49,09 and deviation standard 15,402 with mean increase or average of N-Gain value equal to 0,25 is at low category. Inferential statistical analysis shows that (1) there is an increase in the average ability of students 'mathematical representation after having contextual learning, (2) There is an increase in the average ability of students' mathematical representation after conventional learning, and (3) students' mathematical representation with the application of contextual approach is higher than the conventional learning model in Grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Uluiwoi.  Keywords: Improved, Contextual, Conventional, N-Gain, mathematical representation skills.

Students who lack life skills will tend to be difficult to achieve success. This study aims to determine the comparison of life skills of students whose learning uses Scaffolding and Articulation learning models by paying attention to students' Emotional Quetions (EQ). The research method used was quasi-experimental with a comparative approach. The research design used is treatment by level. The subjects in this study were students of class VIII MTs NU 5 Sekampung East Lampung. Testing the hypothesis of this study used a two-way variance analysis formula and two independent sample t-tests. The results of this study indicate (1) There are differences in life skills between students whose learning uses the Scaffolding and Articulation models in Integrated Social Studies subjects, (2) Life skills whose learning using the Scaffolding model is higher than using the Articulation model for students who have Emotional Quetions ( EQ) is high, (3) Life skills learning using the Articulation model is higher than using Scaffolding models for students who have low Emotional Quetions (EQ), (4) There is an interaction between the use of learning models and Emotional Quetions (EQ) on life skills .

ABSTRACTThis research is motivated by the fact that the ability of mathematical communication in Indonesia is low. The models and approaches used in the learning process are one of the supporting factors for learning mathematics in the classroom. This study aimed to analyze SMA 1 Namlea students' mathematical communication skills with realistic mathematics learning assisted by GeoGebra. The research method used is quasi-experimental. WHO researched SMA Negeri 1 Namlea, Buru Regency. The analysis results show that the test instrument is valid and reliable to be used for pretest and posttest. The results showed that the mathematical communication of students who received realistic mathematics learning assisted by GeoGebra was better than students who received realistic mathematics learning without GeoGebra. The results also showed that there was a positive response from students towards learning realistic mathematics with GeoGebra.KEYWORDS: Realistic Mathematics, GeoGebra & Mathematical Communication

This research was conducted to explain the effect of the learning model CIRC and reading interest on the results of the descriptive essay writing skills of class X SMA Negeri 1 Bangkinang. This type of research is a quantitative study using a quasi-experimental method and a 2x2 factorial experimental design. The population of this study was students of class X SMA Negeri 1 Bangkinang. Sampling was done by purposive sampling with a sample size of 60 students. Data collection was carried out using two instruments, namely questionnaires and performance tests. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that four things are as follows. First, the skills of writing essays of descriptions of students taught using the learning model CIRC are better than those taught by conventional learning models of class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Bangkinang. Second, the writing skills of students who have high reading interest who are taught using the learning model CIRC are higher than students who have high reading interest who are taught using the conventional learning model of class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Bangkinang. Third, the writing skills of students who have low reading interest who are taught using the learning model CIRC are higher than students who have low reading interest who are taught using the conventional learning model of class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Bangkinang. Fourth, there is no interaction between reading interest and learning models in influencing the writing skills of descriptive essays of class X SMA Negeri 1 Bangkinang.

Based on the explanation of the theory by Gardner the state is motivation comes from within a person as a driving force to achieve goals for more advanced change. This study aims to determine how enthusiastic student's Eighth grade in the SMPN 03 Bengkulu Tengah are in learning English, especially speaking English. Researchers used a quasi-experimental research method, namely a control group posttest only design which showed a significant difference between 74, 92%, and 61.96% of the experimental class in the control class. From this hypothesis, the researcher obtained a comparison of the experimental class in the treatment using the storytelling method of 4.34% and the control class with the narrative picture method of 3.58%. So the researcher can conclude that there is a significant difference between the two methods with or without the use of treatment compared to the motivation to learn English in class VIII students at SMPN 03 Bengkulu Tengah.

This study aimed to analyze students' conceptual understanding by using a multi-representation assisted discovery learning model in measurement. This research was conducted in Public High School 1 Kendari. This research is a quasi-experimental study using a one-group pre-post test design. The research method consisted of a conceptual comprehension test using a caliper and a screw micrometer in an essay in the form of a multi-representational test on long measurements. The analysis showed an increase in conceptual understanding between the pre-test and post-test with an average pre-test score of 16.24 (SD = 14) and a post-test of 61.4 (SD = 21). These results indicate an increase in students' understanding of concepts after learning with an average N-gain increase of 0.5 (SD = 0.2) in the medium category. It also obtained the most significant increase in students' understanding of the indicators mentioned parts caliper and micrometer with an N-gain average of 0.6 in the medium category.

<p>The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of learning models to student achievement. Learning models compared between NHT-CTL, NHT and direct instruction. Method of research used quasi experimental with the factorial design of 3x1. Population of this research was all students class VIII in SMP Negeri at Madiun City. The sampling technique using a stratified cluster random sampling. Samples in this research were 266 students with 91 students as experimental class I, 88 students as experimental class II and 87 students as control class. Data collection methods used documentation and test.Hypothesis testing was performed using one-way analysis of variance with unequal cells. Based on the results of hypothesis testwere concluded that NHT-CTL learning model gave better achievement than NHT learning model and direct instruction, while NHT learning model and direct instruction gave the same achievement. </p>

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh model pembelajaran berbasis masalah yang dikombinasikan dengan menulis matematika terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah dengan tinjauan kemampuan awal matematis siswa dengan kategori tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan menggunakan satu kelompok eksperimen dengan perlakukan model pembelajarann berbasis masalah yang dikombinasikan dengan menulis matematika dan satu kelompok kontrol yang hanya diberikan perlakukan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah. Metode pengumpulan data terdiri dari tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis variansi dua jalan sel tidak sama. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah yang dikombinasikan dengan menulis matematika lebih baik daripada kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa yang hanya menggunakan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah secara umum maupun berdasarkan kategori kemampuan awal matematis. Ditinjau dari kategori kemampuan awal matematis, siswa kategori tinggi dan sedang menunjukkan tidak adanya perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah yang signifikan, sedangkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa kategori tinggi dan sedang lebih baik jika dibandingkan dengan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa kategori rendah. Kata kunci: pembelajaran berbasis masalah, menulis matematika, kemampuan pemecahan masalah, kemampuan awal matematis.   ABSTRACT This study aims to look at the effect of problem-based learning models combined with mathematical writing on problem solving abilities with a review of students' mathematical early capabilities in high, medium, and low categories. This research is a quasi-experimental study using one experimental group with the treatment of problem-based learning models combined with writing mathematics and a control group that is only given the treatment of problem-based learning models. Data collection methods consist of tests of mathematical problem solving abilities. Data analysis techniques using two path analysis of variance are not the sam cell. The results showed that the problem-solving ability of students who use problem-based learning models combined with writing mathematics is better than the problem-solving abilities of students who only use problem-based learning models in general or by the category of mathematical early ability. Judging from the early mathematical ability category, high and medium category students showed no significant difference in problem solving abilities while the problem solving ability of high and medium category students was better when compared to the problem solving ability of low category students.
