<p>This research work, aims to contribute to the increasing application of new technologies (3D laser-scanner) in the archaeological discipline, with the aim of developing new avenues of study related documentation, analysis, dissemination, conservation and value of the archaeological register. To tackle this project successfully, we considered essential to implement a multidisciplinary working environment (Department of Prehistory and Archeology of the UAM and research group, Department of Photogrammetry DAVAP of UVA), strategy that will enable us in a joint and evaluate the many possibilities it offers us the register of archaeological materials in 3D Laser-Scanner, with the aim of advancing scientific results more informative and complete and consistent with the current development of our society</p>

The main features of the modern educational and scientific space are the rapid realization of knowledge, the ability to effectively operate scientific results, the development of new technologies and their spread in the world, the competition for intellectual and financial resources. Under such conditions, the ability of universities not only to disseminate but also to create new knowledge through research, to ensure their social and economic efficiency, are the main criteria of global competitiveness. Transforming the domestic science, education and production, defining strategic guidelines for innovative development, ensuring economic growth and the most effective distribution of available resources, especially through the improvement of the universities efficiency in the context of their intellectual, financial potential and academic reputation realization are important tasks of the state on the way to building a competitive national economy. The purpose of the article is to identify and evaluate the relationship between the results of research activities at Ukrainian universities, their financial potential and academic reputation. In accordance with the objectives, the article describes the existing sources and organization of academic research financing at Ukrainian state higher education institutions (HEIs), the scientific and innovative activity efficiency indicators are systematized, the comparative analysis of results of research work of universities of Ukraine taking into account sources and volumes of their financing is carried out and the interrelation between these indicators of scientific and innovative activity is estimated. The object of the study are the classical universities of Ukraine, which occupy leading positions in the national rankings of HEIs, in particular the ranking of universities according to Scopus. Analyzing with the help of information posted on the websites of the HEIs, the sample indicators of scientific and innovative activities of universities, their staffing and financial support, it was found that not always the scale of HEIs in its quantitative dimension affects efficiency. The analysis showed that there is no direct relationship between the financial potential of universities and the achievement of the highest scientific results. Thus, the amount of funding for scientific activities has a significant impact on the level of achievement of HEIs and its employees, but is not always used effectively. Important in the market environment is effective financial management, diversification of funding sources, targeted use of financial resources provided for research and innovation of universities, which in globalization allows to ensure a high level of research, an important place of Ukrainian universities in world science and international rankings, their competitiveness, among others, as well as the innovative development of the country as a whole.


Vamping the Stage is the first book-length historical and comparative examination of women, modernity, and popular music in Asia. This book documents the many ways that women performers have supported, challenged, and undermined representations of existing gendered norms in the entertainment industries of China, Japan, India, Indonesia, Iran, Korea, Malaysia, and the Philippines. The case studies in this volume address colonial, post-colonial, as well as late modern conditions of culture as they relate to women’s musical practices and their changing social and cultural identities throughout Asia. Female entertainers were artistic pioneers of new music, new cinema, new forms of dance and theater, and new behavior and morals. Their voices, mediated through new technologies of film, radio, and the phonograph, changed the soundscape of global popular music and resonate today in all spheres of modern life. These female performers were not merely symbols of times that were rapidly changing. They were active agents in the creation of local performance cultures and the rise of a region-wide and globally oriented entertainment industry. Placing women’s voices in social and historical contexts, the authors critically analyze salient discourses, representations, meanings, and politics of “voice” in Asian popular music of the 20th century to the present day.

Through case studies of archaeological materials from local contexts, Archaeology and the Letters of Paul illuminates the social, political, economic, and religious lives of those whom the apostle Paul addressed. Roman Ephesos, a likely setting for the household of Philemon, provides evidence of the slave trade. An inscription from Galatia seeks to restrain traveling Roman officials, illuminating how the travels of Paul, Cephas, and others may have disrupted communities. At Philippi, a donation list from a Silvanus cult provides evidence of abundant giving amid economic limitations, paralleling practices of local Christ followers. In Corinth, a landscape of grief includes monuments and bones, a context that illumines Corinthian practices of baptism on behalf of the dead and the provocative idea that one could live “as if not” mourning. Rome and the Letter to the Romans are the grounds to investigate ideas of time and race not only in the first century, when we find an Egyptian obelisk inserted as a timepiece into Augustus’s mausoleum complex, but also of Mussolini’s new Rome. Thessalonikē demonstrates how letters, legend, and cult are invented out of a love for Paul, after his death. The book articulates a method for bringing together biblical texts with archaeological remains in order to reconstruct the lives of the many adelphoi—brothers and sisters—whom Paul and his co-writers address. It is informed by feminist historiography and gains inspiration from thinkers like Claudia Rankine, Judith Butler, Giorgio Agamben, Wendy Brown, and Katie Lofton.

Smart offices are dynamically evolving spaces meant to enhance employees’ efficiency, but also to create a healthy and proactive working environment. In a competitive business world, the challenge of providing a balance between the efficiency and wellbeing of employees may be supported with new technologies. This paper presents the work undertaken to build the architecture needed to integrate voice assistants into smart offices in order to support employees in their daily activities, like ambient control, attendance system and reporting, but also interacting with project management services used for planning, issue tracking, and reporting. Our research tries to understand what are the most accepted tasks to be performed with the help of voice assistants in a smart office environment, by analyzing the system based on task completion and sentiment analysis. For the experimental setup, different test cases were developed in order to interact with the office environment formed by specific devices, as well as with the project management tool tasks. The obtained results demonstrated that the interaction with the voice assistant is reasonable, especially for easy and moderate utterances.

Development of new technologies and processes for small batch and prototype production of sheet metal components has a very important role in the recent years. The reason is the quick and efficient response to the market demands. For this reasons new manufacturing concepts have to be developed in order to enable a fast and reliable production of complex components and parts without investing in special forming machines. The need for flexible forming processes has been accelerated during the last 15 years, and by these developments the technology reaches new extensions. Incremental sheet metal forming (ISMF) may be regarded as one of the promising developments for these purposes. A comprehensive research work is in progress at the University of Miskolc (Hungary) to study the effect of important process parameters with particular emphasis on the shape and dimensional accuracy of the products and particularly on the formability limitations of the process. In this paper, some results concerning the determination of forming limit diagrams for single point incremental sheet metal forming will be described.

Purpose: To identify the problem of assessing the health status of personnel working under the conditions of new technologies for the production of nuclear fuel. Material and method: The object of the research was the general morbidity of workers in the production of mixed nitride uranium-plutonium fuel (MNUP-fuel). The material for the study was the data presented in the «Health Passports». The paper used the method of comparative analysis of the overall morbidity of workers in the production of MNUP-fuel and workers in enterprises dealing with nuclear fuel. Results and analysis: At present, in our country, within the framework of the «Breakthrough» project, new technologies are being developed for the fabrication and refurbishment of mixed uranium-plutonium (MNUP) fuel. In the absence of radiation and hygienic standards for the content of fuel products in working rooms, in order to assess the influence of production factors, along with the radiation dose, the incidence of personnel is studied as an integral indicator of health. A study of the incidence of 50 workers in the production of MNUP fuel revealed: Relatively high incidence of general morbidity – 1122 diseases per 100 people or an average of 93.5 diseases per 100 people per year, regardless of the length of service. The leading diseases in the overall morbidity structure are diseases of the respiratory system – 26.0 % (1st place), eyes – 13.4 % (2nd place), musculoskeletal system – 11.4 % (3rd place), circulatory system – 10,9 % (4th place), injuries and poisoning – 8.4 % (5th place), digestive organs and genitourinary system – 7.7 % and 7.0 %, respectively (6th place), which make up 84.7 % of the total morbidity. Obviously, the effective dose of 4.6 mSv/year cannot be the only reason for the high morbidity in workers in complex radiochemical production, but characterizes only the influence of one of the many nonspecific factors of production. The existing system for assessing the health of personnel working in radiochemical production, in addition to analyzing the risks of deterministic and stochastic effects, should include an assessment of the overall morbidity of personnel.

Even though urban drainage has been practised for more than 5000 years, many challenges arising from growing demands on drainage still remain with respect to runoff quantity and quality; landscape aesthetics, ecology and beneficial uses; and operation of existing urban wastewater systems. Further advances can be achieved by adopting an integrated approach, optimal operation of the existing infrastructure, advanced pollution and runoff source controls, improved resilience of receiving waters, and adaptive water management. The specific research needs include new technologies and strategies for stormwater management, advanced treatment of urban wet-weather effluents, and tools for analysis and operation of drainage systems. High diversity of demands on, and region/site specific conditions of, urban drainage shapes the role of urban drainage experts – as mediators among the many stakeholders and fields involved.

In light of empirical experience from Morocco, combined with new possibilities afforded by Information and Communication Technology (ICT), there is a wish to integrate new technologies into distance education to help solve a set of problems identified in the initial training at the Regional Centre for the Professions of Education and Training of Fez-Meknes. The results of a study conducted among 15 trainee teachers of the Earth and Life Sciences allow us to conclude that designing a hypermedia tool for learning could constitute a promising solution to address the many challenges linked to the initial training of teachers in Morocco. Finally, the use of this digital resource by trainee teachers’ has also strongly contributed to their eagerness to integrate ICT in their subsequent teaching practices.

Abstract The vital purpose of this research work is to examine the impacts of occupational health and safety management on employee's performance. It aims to investigate the nexus between the practice of OHS, safe working environment and performance of employees. The research work adopt a descriptive approach to scrutinize the contributions of provision of adequate health and safety equipment to performance of employees at Ardova Plc. Aside collecting primary data from the staffs of Ardova Plc in Lagos State cutting across diverse socio-economic class, simple random sampling was utilised in the study using 90 questionnaires to collect the primary data. However, descriptive data was therefore analyzed using Statistical Tool to show the Cross-tabulation, correlation and Chi-Square Test. The research study concludes that practice of occupational health and safety management can boost employee performance, and further suggest some policy recommendations.
