Hospitalization causes children to have received various treatments in the hospital such as invasive procedures. Hospitalization results in anxiety either to children or parents. Parental anxiety could be decreased by nurses' caring behavior This research aimed to analyze the correlation between nurses' caring behavior with parents' anxiety levels related to an invasive procedure to child patients in RSUD dr. Haryoto Lumajang. The research design was correlational descriptive with a cross-sectional approach. Purposive sampling was used with criteria of parents who have experience accompanying invasive procedures in children with a minimum stay of 1 day. A total of 112 parents with a hospitalized child were included. This study showed that participants had high perceptions of caring behaviors and 91% of parents hadn't anxiety. The result of Kendall tau b correlation test showed that p-value 0.036 (α = 0.05) and τ = -0.164. This study found that nurses’ caring behavior correlated to parents' anxiety level related to an invasive procedure to child patients in RSUD dr. Haryoto Lumajang. The correlation results show a very weak relationship, higher nurses’ caring lower parents’ anxiety. This study indicated that nurses’ caring behavior can reduce parents’ anxiety. Caring behavior is the center of nursing practice, a very dynamic technique, where nurses work with care for their patients. The better the nurse's caring behavior in providing nursing services to patients, the better the level of patient satisfaction with nursing services. Currently, there are nurses and other health workers who are not friendly enough in providing services. The objective of this study is to determine the factors that influence the caring behavior of nurses who work at the Regional Public Hospital of East Nusa Tenggara Province, which are age, gender, education, training, employment status, marital status, work stress, work motivation and respect for nurse caring behavior. This research is a type of quantitative research with a cross-sectional design. The population is all nurse administrators who work in 5 Regional Public Hospital of East Nusa Tenggara Province, amounting to 803 people. The number of samples of 161 nurses was taken by simple random sampling. Determination of the number of samples using the rule of thumb formula, namely 5 independent variables x 32 = 160 respondents. The instrument used was a questionnaire. Bivariate data analysis at a significant level of 5% (α = 0.05) using the Pearson Chi-Square test. Multivariate analysis using logistic regression test. The results showed that the factors that influence nurse caring behavior are employment status (p value 0.001) and motivation (p value 0.005). The results of the Odds Ratio (Exp. B) show that employment status is a determinant factor in the caring behavior of nurses in East Nusa Tenggara with an OR of 3,634, which means that nurses with civil servant status are 3.6 times more likely to behave in caring than nurses with contract employment status. Abstract Background: There is a significant lack of research in the Nepalese study population on adherence in patients with schizophrenia. This cross-sectional, non-interventional study aims to re-examine the recognised correlation between insight and adherence in this population, whilst exploring the association between patient demographics and adherence to help bring understanding to how familial and environmental factors may impact adherence. Methods: Patients were recruited upon attendance to outpatient’s appointments and admission to the psychiatry department of Manipal Teaching Hospital. A self-report questionnaire was used to collect data on patient demographics, including age, ethnicity, religion, employment status, current living arrangements and education level; the Birchwood Insight Scale (BIS); and the Drug Attitude Inventory (DAI-10) score. Descriptive statistics on the demographics, BIS and DAI-10 were collated using SPSS. An analysis of variance of DAI-10 scores according to participant demographics was performed using a one-way ANOVA analysis. Correlation between the BIS and BIS subscales and the DAI-10 was tested using Pearson’s 2-tailed analysis at 0.01 significance level. Results: 19 participants consented to participate in this study with 100% data obtained. 57.9% unemployed, 63.2% living with parents and 47.4% had only a basic education. 36.8% of participants had poor insight; 84.2% of participants had poor insight into their symptoms; 78.9% of participants had poor insight into their illness and 36.8% had poor insight into their need for treatment. 52.7% of participants were poor adherers. No significant differences in DAI-10 scores were found between demographic groups. A positive correlation was found between the total BIS score and DAI-10 score (Pearson correlation coefficient of 0.585; P value = 0.009). Furthermore, the awareness of need for treatment subscale score and the DAI-10 score found a correlation coefficient of 0.609 (P value = 0.006). Conclusions: In conclusion, this study found prevalent non-adherence to medication and demonstrated that insight correlates with adherence. Although study findings did not suggest that patient demographics were associated with non-adherence, it is important to consider the possibility that these high rates of non-adherence have other contributing factors; overcoming rural health inequality, cultural beliefs regarding psychiatric illness and unaffordability remain the great challenges for the Nepalese population.
