The almost two-year-long Covid-19 epidemic has altered the world order. This illness affects many spheres of life, including education. The government has a policy of restricting activities that involve direct human interaction. Learning that was previously conducted face-to-face in schools and on campuses is now conducted remotely, or through what is commonly referred to as online learning. This is done specifically to prevent and reduce the spread of the Covid-19 virus. The purpose of this study is to determine the advantages and disadvantages of online learning from the perspective of students. The study employed descriptive quantitative techniques on a sample of 253 STIE Jayakarta Jakarta students. The findings indicated that the majority of students attended online lectures from their homes, with the majority residing in Jabodetabek. Online education makes it easier to comprehend information and learning materials because the majority of these students are millennials who are already familiar with technology. However, the results of this study indicated that the majority of students believed that online learning was no better than offline or face-to-face instruction.

From the emergencies of COVID-19, the government made a policy of learning from home including lectures. But in its procurement, online lectures have many notes, especially from students as one of the online lecturers part. This study aims to determine the perceptions of students in Surabaya about online lectures when the COVID-19 pandemic. The Surabaya study is a research location because Surabaya is the second largest city after Jakarta which has the highest COVID-19 case in East Java Province. Researchers use the theory of Kenneth K. , Edward M. , Judy C. Pearson and Paul E. Nelson in (2008) about the stages of the process of perception, namely stimulation (sensation), attention, and interpretation. The method used is qualitative. The informants in this study were active students at the 10 best universities in East Java according to . In addition to using interview techniques, researchers also made observations on the 10 university's official social media accounts. As a result, students in Surabaya perceived that online lectures during a pandemic were good enough to reduce the spread of the corona virus. But in its implementation, students feel less satisfied with several aspects, one of which is the online learning support facilities provided by the campus such as the internet quota, even though the intensity of the assignments is greater than face-to-face lectures.

Group projects have long been used in face-to-face instruction to improve cognitive learning among its students.  Group projects not only provide practical experience and allow students to practice the concepts they have learned, but also teach the students creative construction and group dynamics.  As important as group projects have proven in conventional learning, they are rarely used in online education courses.  This paper examines the foundations of effectively using group projects, and then demonstrates how to integrate them into online learning courses.

The Covid-19 pandemic has forced humans to change behavior in various aspects and various fields, including education. The basic policy carried out by the government for the world of education during the Covid-19 Pandemic is the existence of a study from home policy for all levels of education. This policy changed the way educational institutions conduct the learning process, from face-to-face learning in the classroom to distance learning. Ready or not ready, the COVID-19 pandemic has forced universities that previously were not optimal in preparing and implementing online learning to carry out full implementation. Students and lecturers who previously lacked interest in carrying out online learning were required to conduct online lectures. Because the essence of lectures is a dialogue between students and lecturers or between students and students, then in the implementation of online lectures an application is needed that can guarantee the implementation of the dialogue. Of the many internet facilities for online lectures, the WhatsApp application is one of the recommended options for use in online lectures. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. In collecting the data, this research conducted observations on the whatsapp group. While the data analysis technique of this research is descriptive qualitative. The results of this study are the whatsapp group feature is a good alternative used in the online learning process. There are so many benefits and also students become active in class even though they don't do face-to-face.

The Covid-19 outbreak provided surprises and also provided challenges for various educational institutions, including universities. The government has banned universities from conducting face-to-face lectures. The government has issued a policy for implementing temporary courses online (Ministry of Education and Culture Dikti Circular No.1 2020). All universities are required to be able to conduct online or online learning. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of online lectures during the Covid-19 Pandemic for UAD Wates. This research method uses descriptive analysis method through a survey with a google form questionnaire which is conducted online. The sample in this study were students of UAD Wates class of 2017, 2018, and 2020. The respondents in this study were 15 respondents. The effectiveness of online lectures during the Covid-19 Pandemic for students at UAD Wates was quite effective in preventing the transmission of the Covid-19 virus. However, the results of the study also show that online lectures have not been running effectively, because there are still lecturers who do not conduct online lectures. Recent advances in online education platforms have the potential to increase access and equity for deaf students. This chapter examines what we know about accessibility in online learning for deaf individuals. Online learning is broad in its reach, including instruction that parallels or is in addition to traditional face-to-face instruction. Discussions about the future of online learning are situated in a larger context of the importance of direct communication for deaf learners, the use of video platforms for dialog, and the role and function of media as a flexible, empowering, and constructed space for learning in multiple language modalities. Yet the capacity of online education to deliver on its potential requires careful attention to the way the education environment is designed. This chapter provides historical and conceptual context for accessibility; summarizes research on critical issues, including captioning, synchronous and asynchronous communication, and accommodations; and offers recommendations for further investigation.

In order to prevent transmission of Covid-19, the government and universities agreed to temporarily stop face-to-face lectures and replace them with distance learning in the form of online lectures. Even so, the implementation of distance learning in the form of online lectures has different characteristics from face-to-face lectures, because the role of students in online learning is far greater than the role of students in face-to-face lectures so that they require self-directed learning readiness from students so that distance learning is done can be effective. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research on students' self-directed learning readiness in attending online lectures during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research method used in this study is a survey, a survey conducted on 78 students. The results showed that students 'self-directed learning readiness was still at a moderate stage, so it was necessary to make an effort to identify students' self-directed learning needs and to arrange a more complete online learning schedule.

It is growing increasingly evident that online learning is the future of K-12 education, both in the United States and the rest of the industrialized world. Improved technology, coupled with the perceived cost-effectiveness of online education, has resulted in growing numbers of states and K-12 school districts embracing “anytime, anywhere” education. Research on K-12 online education, however, has not kept up with its growth. This chapter explores three structural issues that are currently limiting online learning from being a viable alternative to K-12 face-to-face instruction in the United States: inadequate training of online K-12 teachers, issues related to accessibility for students with diverse learning needs, and the importance of structuring courses in a way that responds to the diverse backgrounds of K-12 students. Although this chapter is framed from an American perspective, largely because the vast majority of K-12 online learning occurs in the United States, future research on these issues is essential to K-12 online education in any context.

Information technology has created tremendous chances in higher education across the globe. With the availability and flexibility of learning online, there are increasing competitions between online learning and traditional, face-to-face classroom. These two types of learning both have their pros and cons. From the advantages and disadvantages of online learning, universities have recently changed the way of their teaching through combining online learning and traditional classroom. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate and understand the advancements of the combination of the two types of learning. In this paper, we will introduce the advantages and disadvantages of online learning and the combined learning. We also share our experience on teaching at Flinders University, South Australia through Flinders learning online system. From this knowledge, we will suggest some solutions about building a combined learning system which is suitable for Vietnamese universities.
