The aim of this research is to uncover the presence of character building in Topeng Malangan dance tradition according to Transpersonal Psychology perspective. This tradition is one of the art cultural heritage that exclusively from Malang and has some rituals as Silem (meditation) and Suguh. There is something unknown beyond human personality which is connected with spirituality so it is correlated with human’s character building. Topeng Malangan dance tradition and all of the rituals inside have contribution and correlation with the character building in the dancer. This research is using qualitative research method with ethnography. It founds that sub-personality and some objects in transpersonal psychology has significant result in building character education at Malang mask dance.

This paper tries to look at the irreverent phenomena that occur in students today, and to find a way out through a series of events in the past with the value of local wisdom in the past. There are two things (more precisely an offer) to be conveyed in this paper in solving this problem. First, an explanation of the value of local wisdom contained in pappasang to riolo, the second tells about the exemplary suri to-riolo (ancestors). These two things are integrated into the historical material and conveyed to students so that students with character can be created. This paper uses a qualitative research method with an anthropological-historical approach in seeing the character (value) of students who experience moral degradation. The results of this study are a new model of character education approach using culture as a role model.

The Covid-19 pandemic has impacted all aspects of life. One of the things that has been affected is the achievement of the SDGs which has been hampered by this pandemic. The condition that has been deteriorated due to the pandemic should not be used as an excuse to achieve the SDGs, in this case the role of youth is very important to achieve SDGs, especially in the post-pandemic period. The method used in this research is a qualitative research method with a phenomenological approach. The data used are primary and secondary data that have been collected, processed, made conclusions, and then interpreted. This study aims to design a character education system for the younger generation in their role in achieving the SDGs. The results of the interpretation of data that have been collected and then processed in the research process, make a proposal for "FAST Generation". These concepts are some of the main characteristics that youth must have in their role in achieving the SDGs in the post-COVID-19 pandemic. FAST Generation is a character that must be possessed by youth in achieving the SDGs. Youth with character will make the world safer, more prosperous, and more focused, so that the achievement of the goals contained in the SDGs will be easier.

The research aims at revealing the performance of teachers in science learning management integrated with character education. This study employed qualitative research method. Based on the result of the t-test of the correlation coefficient, this study obtained t value 4,210 with significance 0,001. The significance value 0,001 < 0,05 showed that there is influence from teachers’ performance in arranging learning media integrated with character education to the teachers’ performance in science learning. The conclusion of research stated that the performance of science teachers in junior high schools in Semarang City in integrating character education is categorized into a very good category with average score 85,05.

The use of folktale as a medium of character education can certainly be explored in various ways – through the character’s behaviour, the character’s qualities, and the character’s way of speaking. Employing library and descriptive qualitative research method, the present study investigated the strategic values of mental revolution found in the main characters of Prince Pekik folktale. The finding suggests that throughout his reign the Prince Pekik possessed numerous exemplary qualities – i.e. wise, knowledgeable, motivated, smart, persistent, firm, humble, courageous, responsible, and conscionable. The implication of this study is that by studying the main character’s qualities of this folktale, character education can be taken place where mental revolusion is possibly promoted.   Keywords: Strategic values of mental revolution, folktale, educational media, Prince Pekik

Internalized value process through paragon of the elders and indigenous,traditional events and enactment the Adat Law.

The purpose of this study is to find the values of character education by using material of the Struggle of K.H Gholib in defending Indonesian Independence at the Lampung Residency. The method used is descriptive qualitative research method with library research. The results of this study are briefly elaborated on the biography and struggle of K.H Gholib as a local figure who fought to defend Indonesia's independence at the Lampung Residency. Then the values of character education contained in the material include: religious attitudes, hard work, curiosity, love for the country, nationalism and communicative. These character values can be actualized by students in learning local history in high school. The hope is that students can emulate the figure of a figure from K.H Gholib, especially for those who live in the area of Lampung and apply it to their lives both now and in the future.

<p>Some countries have proven to be advanced by managing their historical and cultural heritage and promoting it internationally. Japan and South Korea are living examples, who transform the war site not only into national defense heritage but also bring it to the international level.  The management of historical heritage is crucial to enhance people's awareness of the importance of national defense. However, many of Indonesia's historical relics are still neglected or poorly managed, even though many historical and cultural heritages have the potential to become tourist attractions. This article aims to discuss how to manage Indonesian historical and cultural heritage to enhance nationalism and patriotism. Proper management of historical and cultural heritage will increase the love of the motherland. The research method is done by a qualitative research method as well as literature studies. This study proves that the management of culture and historical heritage of Indonesia, especially those related to the national struggle, is still largely ignored. Moreover, Indonesia even lacks in managing its historical and cultural heritage. Therefore, Indonesia has to improve the management of its cultural and historical heritage so that it can be promoted to the global world as an object of tourism to increase the nationalism of the younger generation.</p>

Cultural identity is a specific word that refers to individuals and communities in distinguishing themselves from others. One of the most dominant identities in a community culture is traditional clothing. In Sarawak, the traditional dress for the Iban is commonly known as Ngepan Indu. The Ngepan Indu is often worn during the Gawai Dayak celebration season as well as several other ritual ceremonies such as the Miring ceremony (Offerings) and Melah Pinang (Marriage). The Iban community believes that the Ngepan Iban is an identity and cultural icon in today's customs. Apart from that, Ngepan Iban is one of the treasures and legacies of Petara (God) who inhabited a kingdom called Panggau Libau, Tinting Gawai Gasing Gerah Layang so that Iban always remembered Petara and the origin of Iban's ancestors. This paper aims to analyze and understand the Ngepan Indu in the context of the custom and culture of the Iban community by using the qualitative research method based on the collective memory of the Iban cultural experts in Sarawak. Through this research, it is expected to have an effective and progressive impact to regenerate the spirit of Iban culture to continue persistently preserve the Ngepan Iban as a cultural heritage from the ancestors of the past, so that it will continue to be preserved for the future.

The study is aimed to analyse national character building in Novel entitled “Pudarnya Pesona Cleopatra. The researcher referred to the list of character building according to Doni Koesoema 2007. The research applied descriptive qualitative research method. The method of gathering data is the Documentation method. The researcher intended to describe the National Character Building based on the utterances and behaviour of the main characters in the Novel. The data analysis is a significant step in a part of this research, because it aims examining the data collection’s validity and reliability. In analysing the data, the procedures are 1) the researcher selected the Novel. 2) The researcher read the Novel. 3) The researcher tried to find the National Character Building from “Pudarnya Pesona Cleopatra”. 4) The researcher analysed the data. 5) The researcher drew the conclusion based on the data analysis. Based on the finding of this research, the writer found religious, responsible, hard-working, curious, respectful, inclusive and communicative, peace-loving, and compassion in the novel “Pudarnya Pesona Cleopatra”. There are 7 religious, 2 responsible, 3 hard-working, 1 curious, 2 respectful, 2 inclusive and communicative, 7 peace-loving, and 2 compassion in the novel.

To support the enforceability of character education, schools should be conditioned as a major supporter of activities especially in SMP Negeri 9 Banjarbaru.  Character education can also be demonstrated in the behavior and attitudes of teachers in providing. Teachers are expected to be the role models for their students.  This study used a qualitative research method, which gives an idea of character education in teaching social science in SMP Negeri 9 Banjarbaru.  Data collection techniques in the study were interviews, observation, and documentation. Based on the results of the study character education in schools is also strongly associated with the management of the school, how the character education is adequately planned, implemented, and evaluated in the educational activities in schools.  Therefoe, the character education should be combaining by many values, such us: religious, honesty, tolerance, discipline, curiosity, achievement appreciation, environmental care, social care, and responsibility.Keywords: character education and social studies learning.
