This research aims to investigate the relationship between lecture attendance and the achieved grades on the final exams for a sample of 485 students from the professional field of Economics at a Bulgarian university. The observed average lecture attendance is 30%, the correlation coefficient between the variables is 0.62. When using a regression model up to 38.79% of the variation in the grades obtained by students is explained by the factor attendance. The increase in attendance by 1% leads to an elevation in the exam result by 0.0306 units. All results are statistically significant at a significance level even below 1%. This study examines the problem for the first time in the context of online learning, where contact can only be achieved through electronic channels (students and the teacher have never been in live contact) and attendance data is observed by calculating the time in hours and minutes of participation in the MS Teams sessions.

In a world in which digital interfaces, dematerialization, automation, so-called tools of artificial intelligence aim to drive away the human or eliminate the relationship with humans! The way other beings see us is important. What would happen if we took the full measure of this idea? How would this affect our understanding of society, culture, and the world we inhabit? How would this affect our understanding of the human, since in this world beyond the human, we sometimes find things that we prefer to attribute only to ourselves? What impacts on education, learning, teaching? After having explored the field opened by these questions, we will bring an answer with a reinvention of the learning platform named KOALA (KnOwledge Aware Learning Assistant). KOALA is a new online learning platform that comes back to internet sources. Symmetrical and acentric, KOALA combines analyzes from the digital humanities and answers to the challenges of education in the 21st century

The analysis of the significance of correlations ties between the yield of winter wheat (2012), soybean (2013), spring wheat (2014), buckwheat (2015) and the under indicators of quantity of microorganisms of some of ecology-trophic, functional and taxonomic groups, their of physiological and biochemical activity, the indicators of intensity processes of mineralization, the phytotoxicity, the stability of microbial communities for the four of seasons of vegetations it was conducted. It is established that the effective fertility of grey forest soils significantly (r = 0,666-0,999) positively correlated with the quantity of ammonificators; with immobilization of mineral nitrogen, oligonitrophillouses, cellulose decompose; with of autochthonous microorganisms; with total number of microorganisms (r = 0,684); with total biological activity (r = 0,764); with probability of forming of colonies denitrification (PFC); with of pH of salt and pH of water; with capacity in soil of nitrogen, potassium, phosphorus, humus. The yield of agricultural crops negatively correlated significantly with the number melaninsyntezuvalnyh Micromycetes (r = - 0,665) and with their specific contents in the total number of micromycetes (r = - 0,673), with the indicators of phytotoxicity (r = - 0,648), with the hydrolytic acidity, with the total exchange acidity and content of mobile aluminium.Direct correlation of medium significance level (r = 0,333-0,665) is observed between the effective fertility of grey forest soils and a quantity denitrifications, pedotrofov, of polisaharidnay microorganisms, actinomycetes, micromycetes, mobilizers of mineral phosphates, acid-forming microorganisms, PFC nitrifiers, of autochthonous, of cellulose-decomposing bacteria, with humus mineralization activity (r = 0,564), the content of nitrate nitrogen and of ammonium nitrogen, the phosphorus degree of mobility. Feedback of medium level of significance observed between the yield and PFC olihotrofnosti, index of pedotrofnosti. The relationship between yield and coefficient of nitrogen mineralization by average multi-year data was insignificant (r = 0,090). For the first time shown that an effective fertility of gray forest soils correlated with stability of microbial groupings, which is described of the quantity of significancy of correlation ties between their components.

Dichotomization of the outcome by a single cut-off point is an important part of medical studies. Usually the relationship between the resulted dichotomized dependent variable and explanatory variables is analyzed with linear regression, probit or logistic regression. However, in many real-life situations, a certain cut-off point is unknown and can be specified only approximately, i.e. surrounded by some (small) uncertainty. It means that in order to have any practical meaning the regression model must be robust to this uncertainty. In this paper, we test the robustness of the linear regression model and get that neither the beta in the model, nor its significance level is robust to the small variations in the dichotomization cut-off point. As an alternative robust approach to the problem of uncertain categories, we propose to make use of the linear regression model with the fuzzy membership function as a dependent variable. In the paper, we test the robustness of the linear regression model of such fuzzy dependent variable and get that this model can be insensitive against the uncertainty in the cut-off point location. To demonstrate theoretical conclusions, in the paper we present the modelling results from the real study of low haemoglobin levels in infants.

This note examines the relationship between affirmative action (AA) program perceptions and women’s self-ascribed capacity and desire to become leaders. We propose that women who believe that their organization implements a program of preferential selection toward women will experience negative psychological effects leading to lowered self-expectations for leadership, but that this effect will be moderated by their justice perceptions of AA programs. We test this proposition empirically for the first time with a Latin American female sample. Among Brazilian women managers, desire but not self-ascribed capacity to lead was reduced when they believed an AA policy was in place. Both desire’s and capacity’s relationships with belief in an AA policy were moderated by justice perceptions.
