The cherry tomato is a vegetable that is gaining great prominence commercially and, for this reason, are being developed alternatives that aim to its production of more sustainable way. Among these alternatives are the use of organic fertilizers and barriers alive. The objective of this study was to evaluate the growth and gas exchange of cherry tomato plants (Solanum lycopersicum var. Cerasiforme) cultivated under different organic fertilizations in an environment with and without alive barrier. The experimental design was randomized blocks with split-plot to the variables leaf area, leaves dry mass and stem dry mass, relative index of chlorophyll, photosynthetic rate, stomatal conductance, transpiration and water use efficiency, being the plots defined by two environments (with or without barrier) and the subplots formed by the sources of organic fertilizer (chicken manure, bovine manure and without fertilization), with five repetitions. As for the variables plant height, stem diameter, used a split-split plot design with sub-subplots formed by the seven evaluation epochs (7, 14, 21, 28, 35, 42 and 49 days after transplanting). When cultivated in alive barrier environment and under fertilization with chicken manure, cherry tomato plants presented higher growth in height and stem diameter, with no difference between the leaf and stem dry masses. In contrast, the without alive barrier environment provided an increase in chlorophyll content and increases of 55.38%, 34.49% and 46.81% in stomatal conductance, photosynthesis and transpiration, respectively. For WUE, the environment with alive barrier was higher in 18.71%.

Indonesia is facing soybean shortage and the low productivity of soybean production from decreasing acreage. Saturated soil culture (SSC) could be one of the solutions for marginal land with drainage problem. Saturated soil culture is cultivation technology that gives continuous irrigation and maintains water depth constantly and makes soil layer in saturated condition. Farmers can use on-farm inputs that are normally available at the production site. An organic farming system may be able to ensure local and regional food security through continuous production. The study was conducted at Cikarawang Experimental Station of Bogor Agricultural University, Indonesia, from December 2009 to February 2011. The objective of the research was to determine the influence of organic fertilizer application on the productivity of two varieties of soybean, “Anjasmoro” and “Wilis”,    in organic saturated soil culture conducted in two cropping seasons. Prior to the experiment all plots were applied with 2 ton.ha-1 of dolomite, 2 ton.ha-1 of rice hull ash, and 10 ton.ha-1 of chicken manure. The experiment of the first season used split plot design with six replications. The main-plot was organic fertilizer that consisted of chicken manure only (20 ton.ha-1), chicken manure (10 t.ha-1) + Centrosema pubescens (4.2 t.ha-1), chicken manure (10 ton.ha-1) + Tithonia diversifolia (4.2 t.ha-1). The sub-plot was soybean varieties “Anjasmoro” and “Wilis”. The soybean productivity was not affected by the application of organic fertilizers. “Willis” productivity (1.98 t.ha-1) was higher than “Anjasmoro” (1.80 t.ha-1). The experiment of second season used split-split plot design with three replications. The main-plot consisted of 50 and 100% fertilizer rate of the first cropping season; the sub-plot was the same types of organic fertilizer with soybean varieties as sub-sub-plot. Rate of fertilizer, types of organic fertilizer and soybean variety did not affect productivity. Application of 50 and 100% rate of fertilizer in the second season produced 2.41 and 2.55 t.ha-1 of dry seeds, respectively. Soybean plants treated with chicken manure, green manure from C. pubescens and T. diversifolia produced 2.45, 2.50 and 2.49 t.ha-1 of dry seeds, respectively. “Anjasmoro” and “Wilis” produced 2.50 and 2.45 t.ha-1 of dry seeds, respectively. Productivity in the second season was 26.26-36.61% higher than those of the first cropping season.

This study aimed to investigate the influence of organic fertilizers and seedling numbers each holes of black rice on yield, antioxidant, amylum, and thiamin hydroclorine contents, and to observe the interaction effect between types of organic fertilizers and seedling numbers each hole planting. This study was conducted on rice field in Karanglewas Kidul Village, Karanglewas, Banyumas Regency, Central Java from April until September 2016. The location altitude in this study for about 93 meters above the sea level. The study was arranged by Split Plot Design by the main plot consist with three types of organic fertilizers that was chicken, goat, and cow manures, and the sub plot was consists by seedling number were, three, two, and one seedling by each holes, with three replicates of each combination treatments. The result showed that chicken manure treatment provide the best influences on grain weight per hectare by 5.154 tons, amylum content by 33.86%, anthocyanin content by 275.40 ppm, and Thiamin hydrocloride content by 0.056 mg/10g. The three seedling each hole provide the best influences on amylum content by 33.78%, anthocyanin content by 275.18 ppm, and thiamine hydrochloride content by 0.058 mg/10g.

Abstract The use of chemical fertilizers in agriculture has caused soil degradation and is harmful to human health. Organic fertilizers made from animal waste have received worldwide attention because they are not detrimental to health or the environment. This paper describes the effect of using organic fertilizers from chicken manure on the growth of papaya plants. A completely randomized design was used in this study using two factors and three repetitions; the variations of the fertilizers given were 0, 50, 100, 150, and 200 g. This study informed that organic chicken manure had a significant effect on the growth of oil palm and papaya plants. The best growth is oil palm and papaya plants given 200 g of organic fertilizer from chicken manure.

ABSTRACT Brazil is the largest importer of potassium (K) fertilizers in the world, importing about 95% of all the potassium consumed by its agriculture. Thus, new sources and technologies to increase K availability have been studied. This study aimed to evaluate the agronomic viability of the use of calcined glauconite and phonolite blended and granulated with two organic materials on maize growth in pots, using two soils of contrasting texture in a controlled environment. Were evaluated eight sources of potassium: phonolite; phonolite + poultry manure; phonolite + cattle manure; calcined glauconite; calcined glauconite + poultry manure; calcined glauconite + cattle manure; negative control (no K); and positive control (K - KCl), and two soils of contrasting texture. The experiment was carried out for 38 d. The following parameters were analyzed: plant height, stem diameter, shoot dry mass, leaf number, leaf contents of nitrogen (N), K and phosphorus (P), and the SPAD chlorophyll meter. In the sandy soil, the source consisting of phonolite + chicken manure was similar to KCl application regarding plant height, stem diameter and shoot dry mass. As for the clayey soil, when both rocks were blended with the organic wastes, they were similar to KCl for shoot dry mass. The use of pure granulated rocks, calcined glauconite and phonolite without blending with the organic residues is not efficient to provide available K to maize plants.

Abstract Soybean is the basic material for any kind of industry, such as tofu and tempeh industries. Soybean cultivation will be better if use a sustainable agricultural system, such as using organic fertilizers. This research purpose was to find out the effect of organic fertilizer on the growth and yield of local soybean. The research used a complete randomized design with one factor which was a variety of organic fertilizers with 6 treatments. Various fertilizers used in this research consist of inorganic fertilizer, liquid organic, compost, cow manure, rabbit urine, chicken manure, and goat manure. Each test unit consists of 4 pots (plants) and each was repeated 4 times. The results showed that the provision of compost and goat manure increased the growth of local soybean plants, include plant height and the number of leaves at 42 DAP and leaf area at 28 DAP. The application of various organic fertilizers (liquid fertilizer, compost, cow manure, goat manure, and rabbit urine) is unable to increase the yield and yield components of local soybeans.

Revegetating abandoned peatlands plays an important role in reducing the CO2 footprint. One possibility for carbon reduction is cultivating blueberries as calcifuge plants in acidic peat soil. The aim of the experiment was to find out the effect of different fertilizers on half-highbush blueberry cultivar ‘Northblue’ growth and biochemical parameters in peatland conditions. The experiment was carried out in 2011–2015 with four organic and one mineral fertilizer, where three were composted chicken manure- and one maltose-based organic fertilizer. The soil of the experimental area belongs to the soil subgroup Fibri–Dystric Histosol with the peat layer 1.0–1.5 m deep. Organic fertilizer 4–1–2, which contained seaweed but had low phosphorus and potassium content, resulted in high yields in 2011 and 2013, with similar vegetative growth and comparable biochemical parameters as mineral fertilizer 6–14–23. The principal component analysis showed that the experimental year was more important in determining fruit parameters than the fertilizer type. However, our results indicated that the organic fertilizers are alternatives to mineral fertilizer for organic production.

The productivity of forage depends on the availability of nutrients in the soil where it is grown, so fertilization to replace harvested produce is absolutely necessary. This study aims to study the response of gamal and indigofera forage on application of inorganic and organic fertilizers. Research using a completely randomized design factorial pattern of two factors, the first factor is the type of plant (G = Gamal; I = Indigofera) and the second factor is the type of fertilizer (T = without Fertilizer; A = Inorganic fertilizer NPK; K = commercial organic fertilizer; O = conventional organic fertilizer; B = bioorganic fertilizer), repeated 4 times so that it consists of 40 experimental units. The variables observed were plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, leaf dry weight, stem dry weight, total dry weight of leaves, ratio of dry weight of leaves/stems and leaf area per pot. The results showed that there was no interaction between plant species and types of fertilizer in influencing the response of gamal and indigofera plants. Plant species have a significant effect on stem diameter, while fertilizer types have a significant effect on plant height, leaf dry weight, total dry weight of leaves and leaf area per pot. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the response of gamal plants is similar to indigofera, all types of fertilizers can improve the response of plants and organic fertilizers produce the same crop response with inorganic fertilizers. The study aims to determine the productivity of pinto beans (Arachis pintoi) which is fertilized with differenttypes of organic fertilizer including its dosage. The study was conducted by using a completely randomized design(CRD) within two patterns of factors. Firstly, organic fertilizers are cow dung (S) and chicken manure (A). Secondly,dosages without fertilizer (D0), 15 tons/ha dosages (D1), 20 tons/ha dosages (D2), dosage of 25 tons/ha (D3); anddosage of 30 tons/ ha (D4) of organic fertilizers. The variables observed were plant height, number of branches,number of leaves, leaf dry weight, stem dry weight, total forage dry weight, leaf areat and leaf dry weight ratio withstem dry weight. The results showed no interaction between the type and dosage of fertilizer in which the growthand production of pinto beans (Arachis pintoi) gave the same results by fertilizing with 25-30 tons/ha dosagesof chicken manure. It can be concluded that increasing the productivity of pinto beans (Arachis pintoi) can befertilized with 25-30 tons/ha dosages of chicken manure

This study was carried out to determine the effects of different combinations of chemical and organic fertilizers on yield and essential oil ratio in coriander plant. Research, 2019-2020 vegetation period situated in Turkey's semi-arid climate prevails that was conducted in Southeastern Anatolia Region Siirt conditions. A total of 11 subjects, different combinations of chemical and organic fertilizers, formed the subject of the study in the study, which was established with 3 repetitions according to the randomized blocks trial design. According to the results of the research, the effect of chemical and organic fertilizer combinations on plant height and essential oil ratio in coriander plant is statistically insignificant. The number of seeds in the main umbrella and biological yield at p<0.05 level, the number of umbellet in the main umbrella, harvest index, seed and essential oil yield at p<0.05 level were statistically significant. In the research, the highest number of umbellet and seeds in the main umbrella were vermicompost (100%), harvest index (50% NPK + 50% chicken manure), seed yield (50% NPK + 50% chicken manure and 75% NPK + 25% chicken manure) and essential oil yield (50% NPK + 50% chicken manure). According to the research subjects, the plant height is 64.37-75.90 cm, the number of umbellet is 5.40-6.27 in the main umbrella, the number of seeds in the main umbrella is 32.47-41.53, the biological yield is 411.83-687.90 kg/da, the seed yield is 101.05-186.91 kg/da, harvest index, 22.23-36.28%, essential oil rate 0.30-0.32%, essential oil yield varied between 0.30-0.60 L/da. It was concluded that chemical fertilizer and organic fertilizer applications in coriander cultivation in semi-arid climatic conditions increase yield and some yield criteria.

Jurnal Lahan Suboptimal: Journal of Suboptimal Lands. 8(2):148-158.  Tidal lowlands flood type C is suboptimal land and very potential in cultivating soybean, but it has problems in soil fertility, macro and micro nutrient poor, therefore to increase soil fertility can be given various types of organic fertilizers, including cow manure organic fertilizer, chicken manure organic fertilizer and biofertilizer. All types of organic fertilizers are composted, and specifically biofertilizers are made with their own formula. It is expected that the organic fertilizer provided can increase soil fertility and nutrient availability for soybean plants. This study aimed to get the best type of organic fertilizer on the availability of nutrient levels of NPK and soybean production at different spacing in tidal land.  This research was conducted in Jaya Agung Village, Lalan District, Musi Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra Province, and was carried out in March 2018 - June 2018. The method used was the experimental method. The design used is a split-plot design. with 9 treatment combinations and repeated 3 times. As the main plot treatment is plant spacing (20 cm x 20 cm, 20 cm x 30 cm and 20 cm x 40 cm), and treatment of subplots are: types of cow manure organic fertilizers  10 ton/ha, chicken manure organic fertilizer 10 ton/ha, and biofertilizer 400 kg/ha. The results showed that the combination treatment of plant spacing of 20 cm x 30 cm with the type of biofertilizer 400 kg/ha could  increase   soybean production by 9.11 g/plot or equivalent to 2.43 ton/ha.
