The acquisition of high-quality seeds is essential to successfully implant areas with forage. However, to be commercialized, they must meet the minimum quality standards established by law. Inspections are necessary to guarantee the quality and identity of the commercialized seed. Thus, the objective was to evaluate the quality of tropical forage seed species collected in 2018, in the state of Mato Grosso. The survey was based on data from officers’ samples, in commercial establishments and fine consumers, collected during inspections conducted by the Agricultural Defense Institute of the State of Mato Grosso - INDEA-MT and subsequently analyzed by the Guilherme de Abreu Lima Seed Analysis Laboratory (LASGAL). Purity analysis, determination of other seeds by number (DOSN), germination test and tetrazolium test were carried out. The study showed that 75% of the analyzed samples reached the minimum requirements for commercialization in terms of physical purity; 95% of the samples were within the standard for physiological quality determined by law; and 91.9% did not exceed the maximum limits regarding the number of undesirable seeds present in a sample. In general, 36.1% of the total samples analyzed did not conform in some way to quality standards, therefore were not appropriate for commercialization.

The purpose of this study was to analyze prior seed disinfestation of irrigated rice seeds with sodium hypochlorite and its effect on physiological quality. The experiment was conducted in the seed analysis laboratory of Santa Catarina State University (UDESC). Twenty-four (four per cultivar) seed lots of the cultivars SCSBRS Tio Taka, Epagri 109, SCS116 Satoru, SCS118 Marquês, SCS121 CL, and SCS122 Miura, produced in the Upper Itajaí Valley in the 2016/2017 season, were used in a completely randomized experimental design with four replications. Germination and vigor tests were performed with and without disinfestation seeds. For the germination test with disinfected seeds, there was a higher percentage of normal seedlings and a smaller number of abnormal seedlings and dead seeds. There was significant decrease in vigor without prior seed disinfestation. The fungi that infested the seeds caused an increase in the percentage of abnormal seedlings and dead seeds. Seed disinfestation prior to physiological test positively affects the results regarding the physiological quality of irrigated rice seeds.

Seeds with a good physiological quality are essential to high productivity. However, for some seeds, Phaseolus lunatus L., the viability and vigor analyze show deficiency in quality. This work aimed to evaluate the physiological quality of Phaseolus lunatus L. seeds using several vigor tests. The study was realized at the Laboratory of Seed Analysis of the Agricultural Sciences Center of the Federal University of Paraíba, in Areia – PB, Brazil. We used seeds from five cultivars of P. lunatus (Branca, Orelha de Vó, Cearense, Rosinha, and Roxinha). To determine the physiological quality, we measured the water content, the viability and vigor test (germination, emergence, electrical conductivity, tetrazolium, first germination count and emergence, seedling length and dry mass). We used a completely randomized design for seeds evaluation, and the field test was performed in randomized blocks. The water content of P. lunatus did not differ among the cultivars, indicating a uniformity in the percentage of moisture. Also, the percentage and speed of emergency and the dry mass of seedlings did not differ among the varieties. The tetrazolium and electrical conductivity tests indicated that Rosinha cultivar had the worst viability concerning the other cultivars, showing a low percentage of living tissue and lower electrical conductivity. The seeds of Roxinha cultivar had the better physiological quality, and the Cearense cultivar had the worst quality evaluation. We recommend the tetrazolium test but not the electrical conductivity test to evaluate the vigor of P. lunatus.

PT PAL Indonesia (Persero) is one of the state-owned industries and manufactures engaged in the maritime sector. This company has production equipment complete enough to carry out its production of ship components. There is a problem in this machine, it can be seen by the frequency of damage that occurs to machines or equipment due to the damage so that the production target is sometimes not achieved. Another consequence caused by damage to machines or equipment is in terms of the quality of the resulting product, where products that do not comply with quality standards will be reprocessed. Increasing production efficiency at this company is to measure the effectiveness of CNC Cutting machines using the OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) method. The results of this study suggest that the company should pay more attention to factors of use of production time, work according to standards, operator knowledge, and maintenance of machines. By paying attention to these factors, it is expected that the company's productivity will increase and the production process will run effectively and efficiently.

AbstractThe objective of this study was to determine and evaluate the yield of four (4) diameter classes in function of quality of logs, in logwood processing of Cedrinho (Erisma uncinatumWarm.). 20 logs of four diameter classes between 46 and 85 cm were selected and classified in terms of quality, being 5 logs for each diameter class. Diameter class I resulted in the lowest yield and diameter class III showed the highest yield. Yield increased according to the diameter of the logs in classes I, II and III. Class IV logs with larger diameters had quality defects such as cracks and internal flaws, causing a small yield drop. It could be concluded that there was a correlation between diameter and yield. Keywords: Mato Grosso; sawmill; native wood; correlation. A classe diamétrica I apresentou o menor rendimento e a classe diamétricaIII apresentou o maior.

Millet is one of the main grasses used for summer cultivation, however, one of the problemsinvolving pasture formation in Brazil is the variation in the quality of the seeds of commercial forage species, and this has compromised the establishment of pastures. The objective of this study was to evaluate the physical and physiological characteristics of millet seeds commercialized in different regions of the State of Santa Catarina, in the 2014/2015 harvest. Seventeen lots of millet seeds of BRS 1501 from different commercial establishments and regions (Far West, West, Midwest, North and South) ofthe State of Santa Catarina were used. The physical and physiological quality of seed lots was evaluated. The germination of the analyzed lots, independently of the region, was in accordance with the current legal standards. Only the lots from the West region presented values below the legal standard of 95% for physical purity, but not differing from the others. No differences between the lots collected by region were verified for the vigor evaluations. However, it was observed that the lots presented highgermination and low emergence, being characterized a problem in the establishment of pastures in the field.

ABSTRACT. The objective of this work is to conduct a discussion about the advances and setbacks of the public policy of Youth and Adult Education (EJA) implemented in the state of Mato Grosso (MT / Brazil), from 2008 on, with the establishment of Youth and Adult Education Centers (Cejas). Official documents, research carried out about the Centers, as well as information about the experience of Cleonice Miranda da Silva Youth and Adult Education Center, which operates in the municipality of Colíder / MT, were used to elaborate an interpretation of the creation and pedagogical proposal of Cejas in Mato Grosso. The research undertaken showed that, in addition to the concentration of these formative spaces in a reduced number of municipalities of the state, the original pedagogical proposal was significantly modified already in its first years of operation. The information collected points to the discontinuity of the training policy undertaken by the governments that succeeded in the period under study, which did not support the maintenance of a state policy of emancipatory character, replacing it with government policies marked by the "streamlining" of the schooling process for youngsters, adult and elderly subjects. Nowadays, the state of Mato Grosso is experiencing a moment of step backwards in relation to the public policy that originated the Cejas. On the other hand, the Centers that continue to operate had their pedagogical proposal changed, highlighting the financial concerns to the detriment of the quality of Youth and Adult Education promoted by the State.

In the southern region of Brazil, during the winter period ryegrass becomes essential for pasture formation. The soybean seeds produced in Santa Catarina have the potential for the application of new marketing strategies because they have superior quality over the minimum standards established by the Brazilian legislation. This potential was verified using time series analysis (TS). The main goal of this study was to characterize the physiological quality of soybean seeds produced in the State of Santa Catarina using data from the last five harvests in order to establish new commercialization strategies based on seed quality. Historical data for germination and vigor were obtained from the 2012/2013 to 2016/2017 harvests, with a total of 4606 lots studied. To validate the historical data, data from the 2016/2017 harvest were included. For this analysis, 100 lots of soybean seeds from the 2016/2017 harvest were collected, and laboratory tests for germination and vigor were performed. The results of the time series analysis showed that, on average, the germination rate ranged from 89 to 93%, with all values being higher than the minimum required for commercialization by the Brazilian legislation. Vigor ranged on average from 82 to 90%. Currently, there is no reference value for vigor in the Brazilian legislation for seed commercialization purposes. Of the total of lots evaluated, 1%, 2%, 21%, and 76% of seeds presented germination < 70%, 70–80%, 80–90%, and > 90%, respectively, whereas 4%, 3%, 7%, 17%, and 69% of the lots presented vigor < 70%, 70–75%, 75–80%, 80–85%, and > 85%, respectively. Considering that 76% of the lots presented germination > 90% and 69% of the lots had vigor > 85%, the lots that presented these percentages were ranked, and 64% were determined to meet high quality standards. Taking into account the 100 sampled lots from the 2016/2017 harvest, 55% presented germination > 90% and 58% had vigor > 85%. In this harvest, 41% of the lots met the standards of at least 90% germination and 85% vigor according to the ranking methodology. This study concludes that due to the stability of climatic conditions, the State of Santa Catarina produces soybean seeds with physiological quality above the minimum standards, which allow the establishment of a minimum vigor standard of 85% for the commercialization of soybean seeds.
