The metabolic syndrome is a straightforward method for predicting the risk of diabetes and cardiovascular disease in the future. To compare the prevalence of metabolic syndrome in urban south Indian males and females and the prevalence of metabolic syndrome in various age groups above 20 years. To find out the most common metabolic abnormality among the study population and to find out specificity and sensitivity of any specific skin marker among the study population.
