Empowermen for Women Who Stay in Australia In Parenting at Multicultural Contex

ABSTRACT The aim of current community service is to empower Indonesian women living in Australia in knowledge of multicultural education and care in a multicultural context. The problems faced by Indonesian women living in Australia are very complex, starting with the goal of going to Australia, mobility, educating their children in different cultures to dealing with children's problems and themselves. This service was carried out for two years. The approach taken is to provide parenting training in a multicultural context. The duration to conduct this research will be two years by stages. In the first year of study, the followings processes will take place namely identification, training, counseling and evaluation. final stages of publication (journals and proceedings). In the second years: (1) recommendation, (2) Focus Group Discussion, and publication. The resulting output is: 1) The implementation of women's empowerment activities in parenting in multicultural context. 2) Multicultural education guidelines for mothers. 3) Certificates for participants who take part in the activity. This study will resulting; a) Published paper in national journal, b) Online media publication, c) Video uploaded on Youtube, and d) Webinar event held in Australia using an online platform. The community service implemented on Junne 2021 followed by 31 members. The activities doing well such Focus Discussion, counseling and evaluation. Based on the result of instrumen the mothers interest on the subject matter. They are sutiesfied of this activities. They need this activities again for other subject such as cooking theme.

Pelatihan Prophetic Parenting untuk Menurunkan Stres Pengasuhan pada Ibu dengan Anak Disabilitas Tunanetra

<p align="center">ABSTRACT</p><p>This study aims to determine the effect of prophetic parenting training in reducing parenting stress in mothers with children with disabilities. This study involved 7 mothers of children with disability that had parenting stress from the moderate to very high parental stress scores. The seven mothers were divided into two groups, 3 in the experimental group and 4 in the control one. Prophetic parenting training was carried out four times within a two-hour session. Parenting stress was measured using the parenting stress scale from Abidin (Ahern, 2004) adapted by Kurniawan (2012) with a total of 36 items and coefficient α=0.82. Pretest were done before training, posttest 1 was done after training, and posttest 2 was done two weeks after training. The result analysis of friedman test showed that score of p=0.043 (p&lt;0.05). Mann whitney test showed that the measurement of posttes 1 with the score of p=0.054 (p&gt;0.05) and postest 2 with the score of p=0.017 (p&lt;0.05). Hence, it be concluded that the prophetic parenting training has brought the significant effect on the reduction of parenting stress among mothers with the child with disabilities (blind) after getting the time to practice prophetic parenting. The qualitative analisys also supported the result by showing a positive change experienced by each subject in the emotional, behavioral, and spiritual aspect.</p><p> </p><p>Keywords: prophetic parenting training, parenting stress, chld with disability (blind)</p><p align="center"><strong>ABSTRAK </strong></p><p>Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pelatihan <em>prophetic parenting </em>dalam menurunkan stres pengasuhan pada ibu dengan anak disabilitas (tunanetra) Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 7 ibu dari anak disabilitas tunanetra yang memiliki skor stres pengasuhan dengan kategori sedang hingga sangat tinggi. Tujuh subjek terbagi pada dua kelompok yakni 3 orang kelompok eksperimen dan 4 orang kelompok kontrol. Pelatihan <em>prophetic parenting </em>dilakukan sebanyak empat kali pertemuan. Stres pengasuhan diukur menggunakan skala stres pengasuhan dari Abidin yang diadaptasi oleh Kurniawan dengan jumlah aitem sebanyak 36 aitem dengan koefisien α=0.82. Prates dilakukan sebelum pelatihan, pascates 1 dilakukan setelah pelatihan, dan pascates 2 dilakukan dua minggu setelah pelatihan. <em>Friedman test</em> menghasilkan signifikansi sebesar p=0.043 (p&lt;0.05). Uji <em>mann whitney</em> menunjukkan bahwa pengukuran pascates 1 memiliki nilai p=0.054 (p&gt;0.05) dan pascates 2 memiliki nilai p=0.017 (p&lt;0.05). Oleh karena itu dapat disimpulkan bahwa pelatihan <em>prophetic parenting </em>memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap penurunan stres pengasuhan pada ibu dengan anak disabilitas (tunanetra) setelah mendapatkan waktu untuk mempraktikkan <em>prophetic parenting</em>. Hal tersebut didukung oleh analisis kualitatif yang menunjukkan adanya perubahan positif yang dialami subjek kelompok eksperimen dalam aspek emosi, kognitif, perilaku, dan spiritual.</p><p> </p>Kata kunci: pelatihan <em>prophetic parenting</em>, stres pengasuhan, anak disabilitas (tunanetra)

PROGRAM AUTHORITATIVE PARENTING UNTUK MEREDUKSI PERILAKU DISTRUPTIF PADA ANAK

AbstrakArtikel ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi programauthoritative parenting kepada orang tua di SD X kota Cimahi. Pelaksanaan program authoritatif parenting dalam rentang waktu September 2020 s/d Oktober 2020. Kegiatan program ini terdiri dari tiga tahap, yaitu tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi. Tahap pelaksanaan dengan menggunakan teknik ceramah, diskusi, dan pendampingan serta tahap evaluasi. Berdasarkan hasil angket respon orang tua yang diberikan sebelum dan setelah diberikan program authoritative parenting menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman dan penggunaan authoritative parenting sebesar 57,3%. Sedangkan pada angket respon orang tua sebelum dan setelah diberikan materi mengenai perilaku distruptif pada anak menunjukkan adanya penurunan atau mereduksi perilaku distruptif pada anak sebesar 30%. Hal ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan pengabdian ini cukup baik dan efektif. Abstract This article aims to describe the implementation of authoritative parenting training for parents at SD X of Cimahi. The authoritative parenting training held from September to October 2020. This training activity consists of three stages, namely the planning, implementation and evaluation stage. The implementation stage using lecture, discussion, and mentoring techniques. Based on questionnaire result on authoritative parenting given to parent before and after the training, it showed an increase in understanding and use of authoritative parenting by 57.3%. Whereas in the parents’ responses questionnaire on distracting behavior in children, it shows that there is a decrease or reduce distracting behavior in children by 30%. It can be concluded that authoritative parenting training given to parent is quite good and effective in reducing children disruptive behaviour.

1000 HPK Parenting Promotion Program in Kepulauan Seribu 2018-2020: Reviewed from The Theory of Hafied Cangara Communication Strategy

This study aims to determine about 1000 HPK Parenting Promotion Program In Kepulauan Seribu 2018-2020: Reviewed from the Theory of Hafied Cangara Communication Strategy. This type of research is descriptive research using qualitative methods. Collecting data by conducting observations, interviews, and documentation. The communication strategy carried out by the Thousand Islands PPAPP Sub-Department refers to Hafied Cangara's theory, where in this case the communication strategy in the KIE promotion program for the Care of 1000 HPK is carried out through the first stage and then continues with planning, implementation, evaluation and reporting. The results showed that the communication strategy carried out in the 1000 HPK KIE Promotion Program was carried out through a 1000 HPK parenting training program directly face to face while practicing using the tools provided and online through webinars. In the process of implementing the program, referring to the 2018 National Priority Promotion Projection Technical Guidelines and KIE for the First 1000 Days of Life (HPK). According to Hafied Cangara's theory, the failure of the communication strategy of the 1000 HPK KIE Parenting Promotion Program for 2018- 2020 is the absence of a research process first carried out Kepulauan Seribu Sub-Department PPAPP. 1000 HPK 2018-2020. Thus, to realize the 1000 HPK Care KIE program 2018-2020 to the fullest, a process is needed before the program is implemented so that it is right on target and the community is enthusiastic about participating in the 1000 HPK Care KIE Promotion program.

Using an Artificial Intelligence Based Chatbot to Provide Parent Training: Results from a Feasibility Study

Online parenting training programs have shown to be effective. However, no studies on parent training programs delivered through chatbots have been reported yet. Aim. This study aims to assess the feasibility of delivering parenting skills through a chatbot. Methods. A sample of 33 parents completed a pilot feasibility study. Engagement, knowledge, net-promoters score and qualitative responses were analyzed. Results. A total of 778% of the sample completed the intervention. On average, participants remembered 3.7 skills out of the 5 presented and reported that they would recommend the chatbot to other parents (net promoter score was 7.44; SD = 2.31 out of 10). Overall, parents sent a mean of 54.24 (SD = 13.5) messages to the chatbot, and the mean number of words per message was 3. Main themes parents discussed with the chatbot included issues regarding their child’s habits, handling disruptive behaviors, interpersonal development, and emotional difficulties. Parents generally commented on the usefulness of the intervention and suggested improvements to the chatbot’s communication style. Conclusions. Overall, users completed the intervention, engaged with the bot, and would recommend the intervention to others. This suggests parenting skills could be delivered via chatbots.

Pelatihan Parenting Pola Asuh Pada Orang Tua Asuh Di Rumah Yatim Ymaju Talang Bakung Jambi

ABSTRAK Orang tua merupakan pihak yang bertanggung jawab atas terbentuknya karakter anak. Pola asuh yang diberikan dan diterapkan berpengaruh untuk masa depan anak. Untuk menjadi orang tua asuh merupakan suatu tantangan, karena memerlukan kesabaran dan keikhlasan. Agar tidak salah dalam menerapkan pola asuh, penting bagi orang tua asuh untuk mengetahui macam-macam pola asuh. Tujuan pelatihan parenting ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan orang tua asuh tentang pola asuh yang dapat diterapkan pada anak asuh di Rumah Yatim YMAJU Talang Bakung Jambi. Kegiatan yang dilakukan pada pelatihan berupa pemberian materi, tanya jawab, diskusi kelompok dan dilakukan pemutaran video terkait pola asuh. Selain itu, untuk menyalurkan kreativitas anak, disediakan fasilitas bermain dan mini pustaka. Terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan peserta tentang pola asuh setelah diberikan pelatihan parenting serta sebagian besar anak bermain pada taman bermain dan mengunjungi mini pustaka. The parenting style that is given and applied affects the future of the child. Becoming a foster parent is a challenge because it requires patience and sincerity. In order not to be wrong in applying to parents, foster parents need to know the various parenting patterns. The purpose of this parenting training is to increase the knowledge of foster parents about parenting that can be applied to foster children at YMAJU Yatim House Talang Bakung Jambi. Activities carried out in the training included providing material, question and answer, group discussions, and video screenings related to parenting. In addition, to channel children's creativity, play facilities and mini-libraries are provided. There was an increase in participants' knowledge about parenting after being given parenting training and most of the children played on the playground and visited the mini library. Intensive Parenting Training Based on Child Protection Through the Rapid Rural Appraisal (RRA) Method of Field Study in Blitar Regency

In the current era, many parents are too busy to work with the aim of meeting their daily needs and social demands, in the end there are some parents who ignore their children or often scold their children because they are tired of their work. Improper treatment of children will have a negative impact on children. In this paper, we will discuss parenting training for parents who have difficulty in raising children. The method used is the Rapid Rural Appraisal (RRA) Method or Rapid Rural Assessment, this is a method of assessing the situation and conditions in an area (village), the quick step here is to find data and information quickly from various sources. In this service, data and information were obtained from the community, the child protection commission of the Wonodadi sub-district, as well as influential figures in the Pikatan village community. The result of the training is that there is a change in parents who initially have an authoritarian parenting pattern that gradually improves and applies parenting in accordance with the needs of the child.

Effectiveness of Parenting Training on Emotional and Behavioral Problems in First through Fourth Grade Thai Children with ADHD: A Randomized Controlled Study

Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of parenting training on emotional and behavioral problems of first through fourth grade Thai children with ADHD compared with routine clinical care in a university hospital in southern Thailand. Material and methods Caregivers of the children were invited and assessed for eligibility. Eighty children with ADHD were randomly assigned to either a parenting training group or a routine clinical care group. The primary caregivers of the parenting training group participated in 6 120-minute weekly sessions in addition to routine clinical care. Caregiver and teacher ADHD ratings and oppositional-defiant disorder ratings were collected at the time of enrollment and after the 6 weeks of training in both groups. The differences in scores in both groups were analyzed using a mixed model ANOVA. Results Each arm had 40 participants. The mean (SD) age of the children was 8.3 (1.1) years and their mean (SD) age at the first diagnosis of ADHD was 6.8 (1.3) years. Most of them were receiving methylphenidate for treatment of their ADHD. The mother was the primary caregiver for 83.5% of the children. The ADHD symptoms and oppositional-defiant symptoms showed significant improvement after receiving the treatment in both groups; however, no significant differences were found between groups. Conclusion Adding parenting training to the routine clinical care for children with uncomplicated ADHD who are being medicated was not more effective than the routine clinical care alone. However, the power of this study is limited, and follow-up is needed to evaluate the long-term effectiveness.
