Fungi are rich sources of biologically active natural compounds, which are used in the manufacturing of wide range of clinically important drugs. Alternaria is a fungal genus that belongs to family Pleosporaceae, and has been known as a promising secondary metabolites producer. However the same fungus showed harmful pathogenicity against different plants causing crops economical losses, and is a common allergen in humans, growing indoors and causing hay fever or hypersensitivity reactions. Alternaria is a multicultural fungal genus widely distributing in soil and organic matter. It includes saprophytic, endophytic and pathogenic species. This review aims to briefly summarize the structurally different metabolites produced by Alternaria fungi, as well as their occurrences, biological activities and functions.

Antibiotic resistance is a growing worldwide problem, which challenge current therapeutic approaches. Several predictions alerts about millions of deaths by 2050, with additional enormous economical losses, related to the increasing loss of activity of antibiotics. A rationale use of antibiotics is essential to fight antibiotic resistance, but all actions, decisions and policies focused to limit the antibiotic uses to those strictly necessaries need for the support of the society. Raising public awareness is the only way to be successful in this endeavor.

In most regions of the country, early damage of elevated water tanks during their service life is becoming an increasing concern. The majority of damage occurs in tanks due to a lack of knowledge in design and ignoring continuity effect. Elevated water tank are used for storage of water at certain height and supplying water for essential usage. Hence damage of such structure endanger supply of drinking water and severe economical losses. The main purpose of this research is to determine the importance of continuity analysis in practical application and use of staadpro software to analyse an elevated circular water tank. The bottom joint of water tank is examined using continuity effect. This is the common joint where base slab, wall, bottom rings beam, gallery, column and base beam join. water tank is subjected to self-weight and hydrostatic Pressure due to water. Continuity effect increase stress, Hoop tension, BM hence its necessary to consider its effect while designing the tank. The results obtained from staadpro software is nearly same with manual result. This indicated that staadpro is suitable for design and analysis of water tanks. Three model having capacity of 55 m3, 125 m3 and 221 m3 situated in yavatmal, buldana and ramtek district is taken for analysis. Seismic analysis and wind analysis is also carried out on this model for safety purpose.

Rabies is a fatal viral infection that causes enc ephalitis in warm-blooded animals, including humans. Dog-transmitted rabies is considered eradicated in Mexico; however, rabies is not being tested in livestock with neurological symptoms (one of the main manifestations of rabies disease). In this case report, we describe a rabies case in a white-tailed deer in the Santo Domingo ranch, in Catazajá, Chiapas, Mexico, where white-tailed deer are kept under captivity, and are meant for human consumption. This is the first report of a rabies case in white-tailed deer in Mexico. We also describe the challenges to obtain a rabies diagnosis and the lack of public health policies to ensure containment of the disease, as well as the lack of awareness among farmers in the area. One single confirmed case of rabies indicates that more animals are affected by the disease. The risk for human health and economical losses will remain unknown until rabies tests are routinely performed in animals that present neurological symptoms.

The Covid-19 pandemic is affecting society in various aspects of life. This outbreak was initiated in a laboratory accident centered in Wuhan, China. People are suffering from psychiatric disorders due to the disturbance in several sectors of the society which includes the most important “socializing”. The abrupt step of lockdown taken by the government authorities has led to a severe social distancing. This social distancing has a direct impact on their psychosocial thinking. Due to this lockdown people have started to overthink on daily normal issues which were not completely dealt with. Now due to the increase in time and isolation from society, the various problems associated with this quarantine have been highlighted. The government has enforced lockdowns from time to time. These lockdowns have created not only mental health issues but also physical and social health problems. Along with health issues, the country suffered economical losses and the GDP went to negatives. Many people suffered losses. There were shortages in food and other day to day facilities. With only the essential services going on, people were in a lot of trouble. But listing down the cons of lockdown, we have to believe that this very lockdown was one of the perfect measures by the government. This very lockdown is the reason that the cases have declined to a great extent.

No longer just prophesied about, cyber-attacks to Energy Delivery Systems (EDS) (e.g., the power grid, gas and oil industries) are now very real dangers that result in non-trivial economical losses and inconveniences to modern societies. In such a context, risk analysis has been proposed as a valuable way to identify, analyze, and mitigate potential vulnerabilities, threats, and attack vectors. However, performing risk analysis for EDS is difficult due to their innate structural diversity and interdependencies, along with an always-increasing threatscape. Therefore, there is a need for a methodology to evaluate the current system state, identify vulnerabilities, and qualify risk at multiple granularities in a collaborative manner among different actors in the context of EDS. With this in mind, this article presents ExSol , a collaborative, real-time, risk assessment ecosystem that features an approach for modeling real-life EDS infrastructures, an ontology traversal technique that retrieves well-defined security requirements from well-reputed documents on cyber-protection for EDS infrastructures, as well as a methodology for calculating risk for a single asset and for an entire system. Moreover, we also provide experimental evidence involving a series of attack scenarios in both simulated and real-world EDS environments, which ultimately encourage the adoption of ExSol in practice.

Background: Dystocia in cattle is a global problem which causes many health issues and economical losses in the beef cattle industry. However, to the greatest of our knowledge, use of pelvic areas and linear body measurements in South African Sussex heifers has not yet been reported on literature. Hence, the aim of this study was to use pelvic areas and linear body measurements in the selection of replacement Sussex heifers to reduce dystocia amongst heifers, while improving ease of calving. Methods: One hundred eighty-six first calf Sussex heifers 24 months old, weighing approximately 437 kg were used for this study. A number of six, two-year-old bulls, weighing approximately 800 kg were used for mating the 135 heifers during the first trial with a bull to cow ratio of (1:35; 1:35, 1;35 and 1:30). The second trial consisted of 51 heifers with a number two, two-year-old bulls respectively, with a bull to cow ratio of (1:30 and 1:21).Result: A significant correlation between calving eases score and calf gender, r = -0.35 was revealed. The chances of a heifer to experience dystocia were more when a male calf was born. Birth weight, revealed that higher the birth weight higher the probability of a heifer to experience dystocia. It can be concluded that pelvic measurements in Sussex heifers may be a valuable tool to reduce dystocia.

Abstract The red-billed quelea is a small weaver bird native to sub-Saharan Africa and renowned for its attacks on small-grain crops within Africa. It is the most numerous bird species in the world, with peak post-breeding population estimated at 1,500,000,000. The red-billed quelea is mainly granivorous, except when feeding its chicks insects or when eating insects prior to migration or breeding, and it relies on a supply of grass seeds to survive. When unable to find grass seeds or when opportunities arise, quelea will attack crops. It is a major pest throughout much of sub-Saharan Africa and can cause significant economical losses.

The Novel Coronavirus Disease (nCOVID) has grabed the whole world recently since its origin in Wuhan city of China. There is very dire consequences the whole world is going through because of nCOVID. The unprecedented nCOVID and associated consequences pushed the public health system in the crisis. Undoubtedly, it has affected almost all countries of the world. Nevertheless, hardly a few country it has spared from its dire consequences in terms social and economical losses. However, it is worth of observing that some of the positive consequences are also results of this pandemic. Consequently, this paper discusses the pros and cons of the pandemic from various perspective such as social and economical impacts on human lives and livelihoods.
