Research background: Foster fatherhood is undoubtedly a specific kind of fatherhood, since the man, often being a husband and father to his biological offspring, makes the decision to play the role of a foster father, the performance of which requires a high level of engagement in the realization of caring-rearing as well as compensatory activities, which – in turn – call for constant raising of the competences of working with an orphaned child.Research aim: To learn about the factors which condition the level of involvement of foster fathers in the realization of parenting activity in family-run children’s homes in both the global and partial dimensions.Research method: In the study, the method of diagnostic survey and that of assessment were applied.Obtained results: The analyses proved that the level of engagement of foster fathers in the realization of parenting activity in family-run children’s homes is to a large extent conditioned by foster fathers’ personality factors; to a smaller degree it is influenced by sociodemographic factors or those which are based in the system of social welfare. Conclusions: The specific nature of tasks set for a family-run children’s home demands that foster fathers should engage in the realization of parenting activity to the highest possible degree. It is thus not only important for men to be prepared to play the role of a foster father, but it is also vital to constantly support them in this role.

Paternity leave has been introduced in many countries as a way to foster father´s co-responsibility in family obligations. This study aims \to analyse, for the Spanish case, if (1) the positive effects of the paternity leave are not only limited to the short term, but are maintained at medium and long term; (2) if a similar effect applies in the case of unemployment periods. Based on a subsample of 3388 cases derived from the Spanish Fertility Survey 2018, we perform OLS regression analysis of father´s involvement in childcare and housework. Our analysis shows that longer leaves are related to a greater involvement in care and housework activities, although only in the former, the effect is maintained in the long term. Regarding unemployed fathers, these individuals show more involvement in childcare during the first year, but the effect vanishes later and there is no significant relationship with housework.

There is no current theory that explains the process of a fathers’ bonding with their infants born prematurely. Through meta-synthesis of 19 qualitative studies, we developed a conceptual framework to illustrate how fathers perceive the relationship with their premature infant formed over the first 18 months of life. It details the contextual factors that contribute to that process. Findings reveal a complex process comprised of five stages, derived from five core themes and related subthemes. Fathers progress through five sequential stages to establish their role as fathers and form emotional connections with their child. Stages include: (a) feeling alien and lacking emotional connection to the infant, (b) caregiving engagement and claiming the role as a father, (c) claiming the infant as their own, (d) adjusting to having the infant home, and (5) normalizing family life. This conceptual framework can inform future research and clinical interventions designed to foster father−infant bonding.

AbstractThis chapter examines the policy context and administrative systems associated with the resumption of assisted child migration from the United Kingdom to Australia in 1947. During the Second World War, the Australian Commonwealth Government came to see child migration as an increasingly important element in its wider plans for post-war population growth. Whilst initially developing a plan to receive up to 50,000 ‘war orphans’ shortly after the war in new government-run cottage homes, the Commonwealth Government subsequently abandoned this, partly for financial reasons. A more cost-effective strategy of working with voluntary societies, and their residential institutions, was adopted instead. Monitoring systems of these initial migration parties by the UK Government were weak. Whilst the Home Office began to formulate policies about appropriate standards of care for child migrants overseas, this work was hampered by tensions between the Home Office and the Commonwealth Relations Office about the extent to control over organisations in Australia was possible.

There was also a shift on the business pattern, which is from conventional into digital. This was why the number of enterpreneurs of micro and small enterprises grew so rapid and massive that it affected the increase of people’s economy income. The lack information on UMKM programs for the people was identified to affect the increase of people’s economy income. The small number of innovation on snack products produced was suspected to influence the increase of people’s economy income. The independent factors studied were the Roles of Small and Micro Enterprises (X1) and Product Innovation (X2), and the dependent factor was People’s Income (Y). Based on the results of correlation coefficient analysis, it was found out that coefficient correlation for X1 is 0.750 and for X2 was 0,805. This means that the roles of micro and small enterprises and product innovation strongly influenced the people’s income. The positive impact showed that the better the roles of micro and small enterprises and product innovation, the higher the people’s income. To find out how much they influenced, Simple Linear Regression was used as analysis tool. It was found out that the results of Variable (X1) and the value of tcount (8.253) was higher than ttable (1.984) and it rejected Ho. So, the hypothesis is Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. This showed that there were significant influences between roles of micro and small enterprises and the product innovation with the people’s income. The variable X2 with the value of Tcount 4.862 was higher than Ttable and it belonged to the rejection scope of Ho. So, the hypothesis was Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. Background: Parents are influential in supporting children’s physical activity, but relatively little is known about the role of fathers in children’s physical activity. Methods: Semi-structured interviews (n = 24) were conducted with low-active and active fathers of children 3–11 years old. Deductive thematic analysis was used to identify fathers’ physical activity practices and understand how fathers interact with their children around physical activity. Results: All fathers demonstrated coparticipation in physical activity with their children. Other physical activity practices commonly used by fathers included as follows: facilitation of active opportunities, modeling, involvement through coaching or teaching, and encouragement. In addition, fathers viewed physical activity as an opportunity to spend time with their children to bond and develop shared interests. Finally, fathers perceived their role in children’s physical activity to be different compared with mothers. Regarding father activity level, active fathers discussed modeling more frequently and tended to engage in a variety of different activities compared with low-active fathers. Conclusions: Fathers play an important role in their children’s physical activity, suggesting that physical activity may be one context in which to prompt paternal involvement, foster father–child relationships, and strengthen paternal parenting.

This study aims to determine the role of intention in cognitive dissonance among 70 participants in vocational training on business plan and financial management of micro small entrepreneurs in independent community groups (KSM) producers of pempek, kemplang kerupuk, jumputan, tajung, blongket and songket. The hope is to change the mindset of participants in traditional financial management into accountable financial management. This knowledge is a stimulus that will stimulate the intention, to be a strong predictor of forming attitudes and expected behavior. It turns out that after 4 months of training, only 5% of the participants implemented this material, while 95% did not. The results of the study of the authors obtained data that the positive intention in the cognitive system of participants is very high, ranging from 74% to 97%. There has been a cognitive dissonance in the participants' attitudes and behavior. So it can be concluded that positive intentions can be in line with attitudes and behaviors but may not, this can happen because there is no strong role from external elements, such as limited market prospects and channeling around them, capital and financial management have not been effective, quality of management and HR is not yet committed, the role of BDC as a coach is not optimal, it should be able to play an active role as the foster father of KSM.

This study aims to determine how the process of implementing a business program to increase the income of prosperous families in the city of Padang Panjang, identify the obstacles encountered and find out the efforts taken in overcoming obstacles in the implementation of the program. This research is motivated by the fact that not all people from the poor are included, efforts are not carried out collectively, lack of participation from prosperous family groups III plus to want to act as foster father, the amount of capital provided by the government is insufficient in the implementation of UPPKS activities and often capital in the wrong use for consumptive purposes. The method used in this research is qualitative by using descriptive methods, because the study provides a description of the situation as it should. The selection of informants is done by purposive sampling. The type of data is primary data and secondary data collected through observation, interviews and documentation studies. The validity test is done through triangulation of sources. Then the data analysis techniques used can be grouped in 3 stages, namely data reduction, presentation and drawing conclusions.Research findings indicate that the implementation of the UPPKS program is in accordance with existing procedures but has not been fully able to improve the welfare of its members and is not optimal. This can be seen with the still found obstacles in the implementation, the obstacles encountered in the implementation of the UPPKS program in the city of Padang Panjang can be categorized into two forms, namely internal and external constraints. Internal constraints include: weak oversight of the program, lack of capital sourced from the government, uneven development. And external constraints include: the use of aid that has not been maximized, the lack of creativity and innovation of some groups in finding and utilizing sources of funds, the late repayment of loans. To overcome obstacles in the process of implementing the UPPKS program, efforts were made to include prosperous families III acting as foster fathers in groups, conducting coaching, and constraints originating from program participants made efforts such as mentoring regarding the UPPKS program's true purpose, conducting a ball pick-up system on the member who is stuck in payment.
