Introduction: Medical students have been serving as a key part of the frontline health workforce responding to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic globally. Their contribution is especially important in the resource-scarce settings of developing nations such as Vietnam. Yet, the intention of medical students, in particular, nursing students, to participate in COVID-19 frontline prevention activities has not been well-understood. This study aimed to examine factors associated with the intentionto participate in COVID-19 frontline prevention activities among Vietnamese nursing students. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted on a total of 597 students in December 2020 in Hanoi, Vietnam. Information regarding the socioeconomic characteristics of participants, their source of COVID-19 related knowledge, and their perception and attitude toward participating in COVID-19 frontline activities [based on Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB)] was collected. A hierarchical regression model was employed to examine the association between intentions of students and associated factors. Results: A positive intention to participate in COVID-19 frontline prevention activities was found (mean score of 25.3 over 35; SD = 4.4; min = 5; max = 35). Attitude toward behavior, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control (PBC) was found to be significantly associated with the intention of students. These variables explained the 37% variation in the intention of students in the model. Among three factors, subjective norm showed the strongest correlation with intention of students (β = 0.358; p < 0.001). Obtaining information from official sources and community was also found to be positively correlated with intention to participate. Conclusion: Most of the respondents reported a positive intention to participate in COVID-19 frontline prevention activities. The findings suggested that the TPB was a good instrument to predict the intention to perform behavior among Vietnamese students. Enhancing the positive attitude of students, encouraging family and community supports, and providing adequately essential resources will contribute to optimizing the participation of students to confront COVID-19.

This study tests the effectiveness of a music-based counselling intervention that was digitally recorded on 470 herdsmen in Nigeria. The study was a quasi-experiment with the questionnaire as the instrument for data collection. The result of the study showed that the intervention was effective because respondents in the treatment group scored higher regarding the acceptance of ranching, had more positive intention towards cattle ranching, and more readiness to address challenges that come with cattle ranching than their counterparts in the control group. The researchers highlighted the theoretical and practical implications of the results.

Abstract Background: Because they have not been HPV-vaccinated, the vast majority of women in Japan are defenseless against HPV-caused cervical cancer. Cervical cancer screening has become their only means for intervention early enough to save their uterus and often, their lives. Unfortunately, the cervical cancer screening rate in Japan has dropped recently to 10.2% for 20-25-year-olds. We need to recommend earlier, more frequent, and more effective screening for them. We have assessed several factors that could promote the intention of Japanese women toward having cervical cancer screening. Method: We conducted an online survey of 412 Japanese women. Half of the respondents were given an information sheet concerning cervical cancer, the remaining half wasn’t. After this educational intervention, we quizzed them about their knowledge concerning cervical cancer, about their and their family’s cervical cancer screening practices, about having talks with their family about cervical cancer, and their intentions for having cervical cancer screening. Among the 127 women who admitted having had a sexual relationship, we evaluated their intention toward having cervical cancer screening. We assessed several factors that were likely to influence their intention to have cervical cancer screening. Results: We determined that an education with an information sheet, whether or not they had ever talked with their family about cervical cancer, and whether members of their family had ever had cervical cancer screening, were associated with an effective impact on the women's positive intention to have cervical cancer screening. Knowing that cervical cancer is becoming more common among young women, that cervical cancer could influence their fertility, and that cervical cancer screening could prevent any lesions from advancing to become invasive cancer, 3 were also associated with an effective impact on the women's positive intention. Conclusion: Personal educational intervention, talking with their family about cervical cancer, and the general health consciousness of their family, were all associated with an effective impact on the women's positive intentions toward cervical cancer screening. It is likely that the messaging for the need for cervical cancer screening for 20-year-olds targeting their innate desire to preserve their fertility would most effectively resonate with these young women.

Abstract Once the immunizers are already available in the COVID-19 Pandemic, there is a need to identify the psychosocial factors that increase the positive attitude towards vaccines, particularly among the elderly. We investigated the role of psychosocial variables, which could affect the attitude towards the vaccines. Factors such as: uncertainty in relation to the vaccine, fear of COVID-19, political orientation, precisely the intention among the Brazilian elderly (>60 years, n = 328) to be vaccinated. There was a more positive intention towards Oxford-AstraZeneca in relation to Sinovac-CoronaVac. For the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine, less uncertainty regarding vaccines and greater fear of COVID-19 led the study to predict 26.6% of the intention to use it. In the case of Sinovac-CoronaVac, in addition to the previous variables, a left-wing political orientation led to a prediction of 44.3% in the intention to use it. It was also highlighted the importance of reducing uncertainty about vaccines in public campaigns to achieve older adults' mass vaccination.

This study explores festival personality for its impacts on visitor attitude and intention toward festivals. Two distinct and popular festivals held at a botanic park in Western Australia were selected for the research. A total of 481 local and international visitors participated in the self-administered, pen-and-paper and online surveys. The Excitement personality attribute was unique to the Chili Festival, whereas the Cheerfulness personality attribute was unique to the Tulip Festival. Both festivals embodied the Imagination personality attribute, suggesting the place in which a festival is held may embody its own attributes, which contribute to the holistic personality of the festival. For both festivals, the personality attributes had significant impact on favorable visitor attitude, resulting in their positive intention toward these festivals. The study paves the way for researchers to extend brand personality research to the event tourism domain, particularly in the niche sector of festivals. The enhanced understanding lends input into how festival organizers, brand managers, and marketers can manage the positioning, differentiation, and communication strategies of their festivals in this competitive sector.

AbstractThe aim of this research is to segment foreign tourists to Sarajevo based on the frequency of visits in order to make a distinction between first-time and repeat foreign tourists. The purpose is to discover if repeat foreign tourists have more positive intention to revisit and recommend Sarajevo, if they have more positive attitude towards overall satisfaction with tourist destination and if they have more positive opinion about the general quality of this tourist destination offer than first-time foreign tourists. The study used a quantitative approach for research. The survey sample is a convenience sample of 250 foreign tourists who visited Sarajevo during the winter (from December 10, 2018 to January 31, 2019). To achieve scientific relevance, during the analysis and interpretation of the obtained data, descriptive statistics and Mann–Whitney U test were used. The results showed that there was no statistically significant difference, and that first-time and repeat foreign tourists had the same intention of recommending Sarajevo, had a positive attitude towards the overall satisfaction of the tourist destination and had the same opinion about the general quality of this tourist destination offer. The results also indicated that repeat foreign tourists had more positive intention to revisit Sarajevo.

Perception and intent of significant others to promote exclusive breastfeeding is important in understanding their perceived behaviour and their state of mind toward exclusive breastfeeding practice.  It also helps to identify what intentions this significant other had toward the promotion of exclusive breastfeeding practice (EBF). This study aimed to determine the perceptions and intentions of significant others to promote exclusive breastfeeding in Umuokanne Community, Imo State, Nigeria. The descriptive study design was employed to elicit information from 245 significant others (mothers of the nursing mother, mothers-in-law and husbands) within the six villages in Umuokanne Community. Instruments for data collection were structured on the questionnaire and focus group discussions (FGDs). And finally, the reliability test was established (r = 0.68) between them. 20 significant others participated in the FGDs. Results of the study revealed that significant others had positive perceptions and indicate readiness towards the promotion of exclusive breastfeeding. 120(80%) of grandmothers and 69(73%) of husbands had positive perceptions on the elements of EBF, 100(100%) of grandmothers and 74(78%) of husbands had positive perceptions of the essential roles to play in the promotion EBF, 75(50%) of grandmothers and 57(60%) of husbands had negatively perceived not giving of colostrum to an infant, early introduction of any feed in less than six months of an infant life,  early introduction of fluid to an infant, giving off water and water mixed with medicinal herbs/roots, were not believed to be a barriers to EBF promotion. The description could be based on three key concepts namely, perceived insufficiency of breast milk, low income and cultural practices. Age, education, income and parity were also statistically significant (P = 0.05). However, 136(91%) of grandmothers and 78(82%) of husbands showed a positive intention towards the promotion of EBF practice. Hence, this study concluded that a positive perception shows the willingness to take action and a positive intention indicate readiness toward the promotion of EBF. Therefore, there is need to expand the current strategies employed in the promotion of EBF to include significant others and their cultural perspectives.
