This research is motivated by the awareness of the importance of community preparedness against disasters, especially for island communities whose locations are in disaster-prone areas. Maringkik Island, East Lombok Regency was chosen as the research location because the island is included in the southern part of Lombok Island which has the potential for megathrust with earthquakes above 8 SR. The objectives of this study were to determine: (1) the level of community education in Maringkik Island and its effect on community readiness in dealing with current disasters, (2) the level of understanding of disaster preparedness in the community in patron-client relationships, and (3) the level of disaster preparedness in the local social system of community in Maringkik Island, East Lombok Regency. The method used in this research is mixed methods, a combination of quantitative and qualitative research. The data were collected using in-depth interviews and surveys using a questionnaire that had been prepared. The results obtained from this study are that community preparedness in facing disasters is influenced by several factors, namely the level of education and knowledge as well as existing socio-cultural values. In addition, the existing patron-client pattern actually contributes to the community's low understanding of disaster preparedness. Community behavior and preparedness in the event of a disaster are still traditional, instinctive and natural, not based on modern science. Therefore, this study recommends the importance of disaster-specific subjects in schools and routine disaster mitigation-related training from related institutions.

Sinapoy, S., Melamba, B., & Herman. (2021). Ekologi budaya dan nilai kearifan lokal pohon sagu dalam dimensi masyarakat suku Tolaki. ETNOREFLIKA: Jurnal Sosial Dan Budaya, 10(3), 323–342. https://doi.org/10.33772/etnoreflika.v10i3.1163      ABSTRACT Sago, as the identity of the indigenous people of the Tolaki tribe, besides having many values and benefits also contains historical and philosophical values, so that the position of sago is very important to the life of the Tolaki ethnicity in Southeast Sulawesi. Philosophical values contained in sago plants/trees are the values of local wisdom related to its relationship with culture and the environment called cultural ecology. Local wisdom in cultural ecology for the indigenous people of the Tolaki tribe is always interconnected to the "kalosara" philosophy. Thus, the value of lakol sago wisdom in cultural ecology can be seen from the implementation of the "kalosara" philosophy itself. The survivability of the Tolaki people and their culture to date in the management and utilization of sago plants/trees is very likely due to this universal nature. Thus, the cultural ecology of the local community through its local wisdom regulates the pattern of community behavior. Community behavior patterns based on local wisdom tend to be more ecological than modern societies that do not use local wisdom in their lives. Local wisdom acts not only as a controller of individual human life, but it should also have thought of the survival of other humans in the area and also the sustainability of the surrounding natural environment as one of sustainable development goals.

The study aims to prove the influence of local wisdom, learning, attitudes on the intentions and behavior of indigenous peoples in behaving sustainably or preserving forest resources in East Kalimantan Province. The population in this study is customary law communities, namely groups of people who have local wisdom in protecting and managing the environment sustainably in the province of East Kalimantan. The purposive sampling method was used to select districts and villages as sample areas, namely the districts of Berau, East Kutai, and West Kutai with a total population of 12,483. The sample of customary law communities was taken using the nonprobability sampling technique, which includes incidental sampling and purposive sampling of 387 indigenous respondents. Subsequently, in-depth interviews were conducted with 11 customary law community leaders as informants to produce more facts, complete the study description of the phenomenon being studied, and strengthen the research analysis. As a result, local wisdom has influenced the intentions and behavior of indigenous and tribal peoples to conserve forest resources. Learning can increase intention and influence community behavior to conserve forest resources. The attitude of the customary law community in supporting the preservation of forest resources has no effect on the intention to conserve forest resources and the stronger the intention to conserve forest resources, the more it will affect the behavior of the customary law community in conserving forest resources. Furthermore, the perception of indigenous and tribal peoples is that they are very supportive of the preservation of forest resources, forests are seen as an inseparable part of life due to their very high dependence on the economy.
