The article analyzes domestic guidelines for assessing the effectiveness of investment projects reflected in the regulatory documentation, both current and invalid. Considered are methodological approaches to calculating key performance indicators of investment projects - net discounted income, internal rate of return, discounted payback period and profitability index. The results of the analysis and recommendations for the further development of national regulatory documents for project analysis and methodological approaches to assessing the effectiveness of socially significant investment projects are presented. The results of the analytical work presented in the article are planned to be used to create a methodology for the selection of socially significant projects for the provision of state support.

In this study different methodological approaches are used and described by many features (indicators) of complex socio-economic process. Outcome of analysis has the most reliable and acceptable representation of the studied process specific to chosen case. In order to solve problems in this area (depending on the situation, case under consideration), methods from two groups are most often used: multidimensional comparative analysis and multi-criteria decision analysis. The first of these cases concern problems at the macro level (socio-economic development, demographic situation, population's living standards, etc.), in which the decisionmaker's participation is relatively small (eg the selection of diagnostic variables or expert assessment). The second of these groups include issues in which the decisionmaker's participation is significant which are subjective to the decisions taken and reflects his or her preferences. Among the decision support methods, one can also distinguish those that have both the characteristics of methods from the area of multidimensional comparative analysis and multi-criteria decision analysis. The article presents the combination of both trends exposing maximum possibilities of using selected methods used in the decision making by Polish schools. The general methodological assumptions, advantages of having approaches discussed (in relation to other known methods) as well as the applied aspects (exemplary applications) also presented.

The regulation of the restructuring employment processes that occurs in the course of the development of the economy and the evolution of its structure should be based on the selection of sectoral priorities and be accompanied by an assessment of this process in terms of its compliance with the needs of the development of progressive types of economic activity. In this regard, the problem of elaborating methodological approaches that ensure the orderliness and controllability of the process of restructuring employment, including objectifying the choice of progressive industries and assessing the quality of shifts in the sectoral structure of employment, is highly relevant. The article substantiates approaches to identifying sectoral priorities for restructuring employment based on the criteria of economic efficiency and involvement in the implementation of government programs and also proposes a sequential process for evaluating the quality of shifts in employment based on their compliance with the selected sectoral priorities. Within the framework of the proposed approaches, using the example of the labor market in Kazakhstan, the results obtained are presented, such as a sequence of analytical actions to determine the range of priority sectors, a matrix for identifying sectoral priorities for employment, a scheme for implementing a methodological approach to assessing the quality of shifts in the sectoral structure of employment. On the basis of the proposed approaches, an assessment of the quality of shifts in the sectoral structure of employment in Kazakhstan was carried out and conclusions were drawn about the insufficient correspondence of these shifts to the priorities of the country's economic development.

There are several methodological approaches to model floodplains. The selection of the appropriate methodology is a matter of the required results and is very dependent on data availability. In fact, data availability is the crucial parameter especially when working in ungauged basins or ephemeral streams. The goal of this chapter is to evaluate methodologies used to floodplain modeling in small watersheds. An overview of the principal models used in floodplain modeling is presented here in terms of their relative advantages as compared to each other. The chapter provides the results obtained with different models applied to a small watershed situated in the Romania and concludes with a discussion about the various recommendations and solutions on flood modeling methodology.

Response inhibition refers to the suppression of actions that are inappropriate in a given context and that interfere with goal-driven behavior. Studies using a range of methodological approaches have implicated executive control processes mediated by frontal-subcortical circuits as being critical to response inhibition; however, localization within the frontal lobe has been inconsistent. In this review, we present evidence from behavioral, lesion, neuroimaging, electrophysiology, and neurological population studies. The findings lay the foundation for a construct in which response inhibition is akin to response selection, such that pre-SMA circuits are critical to selection of appropriate behavior, including both selecting to engage appropriate motor responses and selecting to withhold (inhibit) inappropriate motor responses. Recruitment of additional prefrontal and posterior cortical circuits, necessary to guide response selection, varies depending on the cognitive and behavioral demands of the task.

The aim of the research is to study the factors of development and depression of the territory, the development of a methodological approach to assessing cities and rural settlements of Kazakhstan. The main indicators of selection of localities include population density, industrial production per capita, gross output of agricultural products (services rendered) per capita, retail turnover per capita, nominal income per capita, migration balance, distance up to 50 km from the state border of Kazakhstan. The sample will be formed based on the selected criteria from 88 cities and 6322 rural settlements of Kazakhstan. The developed approach can be applied in further data analysis based on secondary statistical data and conducting an empirical study to collect primary data.

Modernization of the Ukrainian economy under the influence of global post-industrial trends mainstreams the priority of development of science-intensive, high-tech, innovative activities. Modernization creates the preconditions for strengthening competitive positions in the national and global markets. In modern conditions, the issue of assessing the competitiveness of catering companies is relevant. High competitiveness of the enterprise is the main condition of its activity and development. The purpose of the study is to assess the competitiveness of catering companies in the market of catering services in Ukraine. The study proposes methodological approaches to assessing the competitiveness of catering companies. Methodological approaches include continuity of monitoring, determination of parameters, indicators and criteria, selection of optimal evaluation methods. In the process of research the following methods were used: sociological survey, simple ranking, integrated assessment and factor method, system approach method. It was established that methodical approaches to assessing the competitiveness of catering companies include justification and development of a system of socio-economic indicators and criteria (product quality, quality of service, quality and organizational staff, efficiency, efficiency of personnel management, price). Methodological approaches include a set of indicators that form an integrated indicator of competitiveness. This indicator allows to consider objective differences in the dynamics of enterprises, the conditions of use of available resources in the process of forecasting and development of enterprises. A comprehensive diagnosis was carried out based on an integrated indicator of the competitiveness of restaurants on special orders (catering), during which it was determined that its level has a significant differentiation according to the indicators of the studied enterprises, which are due to both external and internal factors, which allows the development of strategic priorities and specific measures to develop the image of the enterprise and increase its competitiveness.
