An on-line computer has been in use at Jodrell Bank since 1964, both controlling the Mk II radio telescope and performing data processing functions in connection with it. However this system is now being superseded, and the following describes the present state of development, including some facilities that are only now being constructed.An Argus 400 computer is associated with each of the two main telescopes. Each has 12 000 words of core store, the word length being 24-bits, and the time for obeying most functions is 12 μs. The 24-bit word length is well suited to the application since more than 16-bit accuracy is required in the coordinate transformation. This fact, and the very versatile organization of the Argus computer, makes the effective speed relatively higher when compared with faster machines of smaller word size. In addition a drum store of about 50,000 words capacity will be fitted to each machine, and CRT and graphical output devices are available. Each machine operates a permanent program, which performs a number of functions, including in the case of the Mk II telescope the control of the instrument itself. In addition, up to three “user” programs may be operated simultaneously; these may be on-line data collection, with links to the telescope control sections, or completely off-line background jobs. A wide selection of library routine, available to all programs, is permanently in the core store, and this makes the writing of programs a relatively simple matter.

This study aims to determine the best criteria on which to base the selection of alternative Chemical Boilout suppliers for Paper Machine # 6 dissection and to determine the best supplier to be selected for the Chemical Boilout supplier. The benefit of this research is to improve the consistency of run-ability by reducing the lost time sheet break and paper rejects. The method used is data processing using AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) and data collection by means of observation, interviews and questionnaires. The results of this study indicate the criteria for supplier selection, namely quality, price, supplier performance and guarantee of product claims. Then produce a weight for each alternative supplier, in order, namely kemira supplier with a weight of 30.627%, buckman with a weight of 29.973%, solenis with a weight of 21.608% and amazone with a weight of 17.792%. therefore for the best supplier and will be recommended to be selected in the upcoming tender process is the supplier Kemira.

Abstract The fundamental importance of cartographic signs in traditional maps is unquestionable, although in the case of multimedia maps their key function is not so obvious. Our aim was to search the problem of cartographic signs as a core of multimedia maps prepared by non-cartographer in on-line Map Services. First, preestablished rules for multimedia map designers were prepared emphasizing the key role of the cartographic signs and habits of Web-users. The comparison of projects completed by a group of designers led us to the general conclusion that a cartographic sign should determine the design of a multimedia map in on-line Map Services. Despite the selection of five different map topics, one may list the general characteristics of the maps with a cartographic sign in the core.

This paper reviews experience extending over 18 months obtained with the Elliott Automatic Laboratory Analysis (A.L.A.) system, coupled with a Teletype link for communicating with a computer situated half-a-mile away. The system has been used for the off-line processing by an Elliott 803 computer of data collected from AutoAnalyzers carrying out urea and electrolyte determinations. The A.L.A. equipment itself has proved reliable, apart from faults in the translator-timers occurring mostly during the first 3 months of routine operation, but the Teletype link has been subject to frequent breakdowns. The advantages of using the A.L.A. system of data-collection and computation have been confirmed, but disadvantages of this off-line system are discussed and reasons given why an on-line system of data-collection from AutoAnalyzers is preferred. The importance of reliable performance of laboratory data-acquisition and data-processing equipment in routine operation, and the need for good servicing arrangements, are stressed. The system described in this paper has been deficient in back-up servicing arrangements in respect of the A.L.A. equipment itself and of the Elliott 803 computer, but most of all in respect of the Teletype units. Alphabetical coding patterns have proved of little value as a means of reducing the number of reports requiring detailed scrutiny, but they have served to draw attention to markedly abnormal results.

Measures of well-being have proliferated over the past decades. Very little guidance has been available about which measures to use in particular contexts. This chapter provides a series of recommendations, based on the present state of knowledge and the existing measures available, of which measures might be preferred in which contexts. The recommendations came out of an interdisciplinary workshop on the measurement of well-being and are shaped around the number of items that can be included in a survey and also based on the differing potential contexts and purposes of data collection such as, for example, government surveys, multiuse cohort studies, or studies specifically about psychological well-being. The recommendations are not intended to be definitive but instead to stimulate discussion and refinement and provide guidance to those relatively new to the study of well-being.

This study analyzes the procession of rice planting in Bulukumba and discovers the propaganda strategy in it. This research is qualitative research with a da'wah strategy approach. Data sources are farmers in Bulukumba and data collection is observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. Data processing and analysis techniques consist of three steps: data reduction, data presentation, and research conclusions. The results showed that the rice planting procession in Bulukumba determined a good day to start planting rice, preparing seeds, soaking, storing and sowing seeds, working in the fields, planting, harvesting, and thanksgiving parties. Da'wah strategies are shown in six points: 1) determination of good days, 2) nursery systems in the form of a selection of the best seeds, 3) storage and the procession of sowing, 4) start working in the fields, 5) planting and harvesting, and 6) thanksgiving parties.تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى تحليل مسار زراعة الأرز في بولوكومبا واكتشاف استراتيجية الدعوة. هذا البحث نوعي بمقاربة استراتيجية الدعوة. كان مصدر البيانات الفلاحين في بولوكومبا وكان جمع البيانات الملاحظة والمقابلة والاستبيان والتوثيق. كانت تقنيات معالجة البيانات وتحليلها من ثلاث خطوات: تقليب البيانات، وعرض البيانات.   ونتانج  البحث. أظهرت النتائج أن مواكب زراعة الأرز في بولوكومبا كانت تحدد يومًا جيدًا لبدء فتح زراعة الأرز، وتحضير البذور، ونقع البذور، وتخزينها وزرعها، والعمل في الحقول، والزراعة، والحصاد، وحفلات الشكر. ظهرت استراتيجيات الدعوة في ست نقاط: 1) في تحديد يوم جيد، 2) في نظام الشتلات يمكن أن يكون على شكل اختيار أفضل البذور ، 3) في نقع موازين التخزين والبذر ، 4) في بدء العمل على حقل الأرز ، 5) في الزراعة والحصاد ، و 6) في حفلات الشكر.Penelitian ini menganalisis prosesi penanaman padi di Bulukumba dan menemukan strategi dakwah di dalamnya. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan strategi dakwah. Sumber data adalah petani di Bulukumba dan pengumpulan data adalah observasi, wawancara, kuesioner dan dokumentasi. Teknik pengolahan dan analisis data terdiri dari tiga langkah: reduksi data, penyajian data, dan kesimpulan penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa prosesi penanaman padi di Bulukumba menentukan hari yang baik untuk memulai penanaman padi, menyiapkan benih, merendam, menyimpan dan menabur benih, bekerja di ladang, menanam, memanen, dan pesta ucapan syukur. Strategi dakwah ditunjukkan dalam enam poin: 1) penentuan hari yang baik, 2) sistem pembibitan dalam bentuk pemilihan benih terbaik, 3) penyimpanan dan prosesi menabur, 4) mulai bekerja di sawah, 5) menanam dan memanen, dan 6) pesta ucapan syukur.

SummaryThis paper reports on a computerised approach to the management of an epidemiological field trial, which aimed at determining the effects of insecticide-impregnated bed nets on the incidence of malaria in children. The development of a data system satisfying the requirements of the project and its implementation using a database management system are discussed. The advantages of this method of management in terms of rapid processing of and access to data from the study are described, together with the completion rates and error rates observed in data collection.

Selecting check index quantitatively is the core of the calibration of micro traffic simulation parameters at signal intersection. Five indexes in the node (intersection) module of VISSIM were selected as the check index set. Twelve simulation parameters in the core module were selected as the simulation parameters set. Optimal process of parameter calibration was proposed and model of the intersection of Huangcun west street and Xinghua street in Beijing was built in VISSIM to verify it. The sensitivity analysis between each check index and simulation parameter in their own set was conducted respectively. Sensitive parameter sets of different check indices were obtained and compared. The results show that different indexes have different size of set, and average vehicle delay's is maximum, so it's necessary to select index quantitatively. The results can provide references for scientific selection of the check indexes and improve the study efficiency of parameter calibration.

Sociolinguistics is the study of language variation and use in society. Interference is the event of the use of language elements of one into the other language elements that occur in the speakers themselves. This research uses descriptive qualitative method because to describe the actual realityin order to obtainan accurateand objective. Qualitative descriptive methods were used to analyzethe elements ofa word orphrase that incorporated elements of other languages with the analysis and description of the formulation of the problem is the answer. Data collection techniques using observation techniques, the determination ofthe object of research, the selection of short stories.Based on the analysis of the data in this study can be found that there are six forms of interference morphology, namely (1) the prefix nasal N-sound, (2) the addition of the suffix, (3) the exchange prefix, (4) exchange suffixes, (5) exchange konfiks, (6) removal affixes. While the syntactic interference only on the words and phrases in a sentence. The results of the study it can be concluded that the interference morphology more common than syntactic interference.
