The data of long-term research on increasing the yield and quality of coriander seeds by selecting the most productive varieties and improving the basic techniques of its cultivation technology are presented. It has been established that the most productive is the Akkord cultivar, which we have bred and released. Biochemical, biological and agrotechnical features of coriander have been studied. High laboratory germination of coriander seeds was revealed (90.1%), and field germination varied from 88.5 - 93.5% depending on the cultivation technology and weather conditions. Low growth rates of coriander were revealed at the beginning of germination and before the branching phase. By the budding and flowering phase, the formation of the leaf surface (46.2 thousand m2/ha) and the accumulation of aboveground green (26.2 t/ha) and dry (3.1 t/ha) biomass reach their peak levels. The maximum yield of coriander seeds was achieved by deep plowing to a depth of 25-27 cm for the Akkord variety - 1.41 t/ha versus 1.20 and 1.14 for the Alekseevskii 413 and Svetlyi cultivars. The greatest amount of essential oil was contained in all studied varieties in the browning phase of the central umbels and the smallest one in the period of filling and ripening of seeds. On average, over the years of research (2015-2018), the highest yield of coriander seeds (1.41 t/ha) was obtained with a skip-row (30 cm) planting and a seeding rate of 2.0 million viable seeds per hectare. With such a seeding rate and planting method, the maximum content of essential oil (1.20%) and fat (20.1%) is provided, which is 15.5-24.7% higher compared to both with a lower seeding rate (0,5 million germinating seeds per 1 ha) and higher one (2.5 million germinating seeds per 1 ha). The same pattern is observed for other sowing methods – line and wide-row planting.

The experimental studies were carried out on the fields of the Sumy NAU Training Research and Production Complex (TRPC) during 2016–2018.The soil of the experimental plot is typical deep-medium humus, large-dusty and medium-loam black soil on forest trees. The subject of the research was a white mustard variety of Oslava created at the Institute of Feed and Agriculture of the Podillya NAASU, entered in the Register of varieties suitable for cultivation in Ukraine in 2010. The aim of the research is to optimize the nutrition of the white mustard variety of Oslava through the complex application of mineral fertilizers and foliar fertilization under the conditions of the northeastern forest-steppe of Ukraine. The analysis of weather conditions, in particular the hydrothermal coefficient of Selyaninov (HTC), established that 2016 season was wet (HTC = 1.60), 2017 and 2018 were dry (HTC = 0.59 and 0.46). During the research, the cultivation technology was generally accepted in the experimental area, except for the elements studied. The results of the three-year study on the influence of foliar fertilizing under different mineral nutrition backgrounds on the yield of the white mustard variety Oslava are presented. It was found that the application of mineral fertilizers and complex fertilizers for the foliar feeding had a positive effect on the morphometric parameters of the white mustard, in particular, increased the plant height and the number of branches of the first order. The use of mineral fertilizers at the rate of N30P30K30 provided an increase in the yield by 0.34 t/ha, N60P60K60 – by 0.55 t/ha, N90P90K90 – by 0.61 t/ha on an average compared to the control. Therefore, for the maximum yield (2.14–2.21 t/ha) with a mass of 1000 seeds (5.39–5.54 g) of the white mustard under the conditions of the Northeastern Forest-Steppe of Ukraine, foliar fertilizing of Vuxal boron (3.0 l/ha) + Vuxal bioaminoplant 3.0 l/ha) and Spectrum B + Mo (2.0 l/ha) + Spectrum Ascorist (3.0 l/ha) should be applied on the background of N60-90P60-90K60-90, what provided an increase in the yield compared to the control of 0.58-0.65 t/ha.

The article deals with the issues of plant density and field germination of winter triticale on gray forest soils of the southeastern part of the Volga-Vyatka zone depending on the variety and seeding rates. The question of establishing the optimum density of sowing, the area of food for grain crops served as the object of study by many researchers. The urgency of the issue of creating optimal sowing density is explained by the fact that the factors that determine the magnitude of the yield are constantly changing. The plant stand density and field germination of winter triticale are significantly influenced by the weather conditions formed during the growing season of winter triticale plants. With an increase in seeding rates, the plant stand density and seeding rate increases, respectively, is important for the formation of a given density of productive stalks. In production, these elements of technology are often underestimated and often unjustifiably overestimate the seeding rate, which is absolutely unnecessary, since the really possible yield is achieved at an optimal seeding rate with minimal seed consumption. The winter triticale seeding rates, both in Russia and in the world as a whole varies from 2 to 8 million viable seeds per hectare. The urgency of the issue of creating optimal sowing density is explained by the fact that the factors that determine the magnitude of the yield are constantly changing. Until now, there is no consensus on the dependence of planting density on the degree of fertility. Some researchers believe that nutrient-rich soil requires less seed for maximum yield. Under these conditions, the plants develop better, they bush more, the maximum yield can be obtained with a lower seeding rate. The opposite opinion that it is necessary to sow thicker on rich soils has become widespread, especially in recent years. Advocates of the bottom conclusion explain their point of view by the fact that fertile soil has a greater supply of food and moisture, therefore, more plants can be grown on the same area, which means that the seeding rate should be increased [1,2.3,4.5,6,7]. Research results indicate that winter triticale with increasing seeding rates increases plant density and field germination of winter triticale plants.

Recently, the interest of farmers in the mustard, as a culture of great opportunities, has increased due to the agronomic and agro-ecological benefits of growing it. The purpose of the research was to study the influence of doses of mineral fertilizers on different seed rates on the productivity of Sarepta and white mustard. The experiment was carried out in 2015-2017 in the experimental field of the Institute of Oilseed Crops. Four seeding rate were studied: 1,5; 2,0; 2,5; 3,0 million germinating seeds per hectare. Mineral fertilisers have been applied in the following doses: N50; P60; N50P60; N75P90; N100P120 with presowing cultivation. The study included two varieties of mustard: leaf mustard Prima and white mustard Zaporizhanka. Based on the results of three years of research, the effect of additional mineral nutrition on the indicators of the elements of productivity and yield of varieties of mustard yarrow for different seed rates has been established. The application of different doses of mineral fertilizers has led to an increase in relation to the control of the performance indicators of the mustard element of the spring Sarept variety Prima: the number of pods from 27,0-37,6 to 24,0-42,8 pc. and seeds from 224.3-379.5 to 226.9-442.5 pcs. on one plant, the weight of seeds from one plant from 0,527-0,976 to 0,553-1,302 g and a mass of 1000 seeds from 2,39-2,62 to 2,47-3,03 g. A similar trend was observed in relation to the characteristics of the mustard of the white-seeded white Zaporizhanka: number of pods from 24,0-38,1 to 24,2-45,4 pcs. and seeds from 105,0-172,5 to 108,1-214,8 pc. on one plant, the weight of seeds from one plant from 0,458-0,818 to 0,491-1,152 g and a weight of 1000 seeds with 4,41-4,76 to 4,55-5,40 g. In turn, an increase in the seed rate from 1.5 to 3.0 million pounds per hectare led to a decrease in these indicators. Greater indices of the number of pods and seeds per plant, both in the Prima variety and in the Zaporizhanka variety, are marked by the combined introduction of nitrogen and phosphorus. The largest weight of seeds per plant and the weight of 1000 seeds for the mustard Sarepts Prima variety – respectively 1,302 and 3,03 grams and for white mustard Zaporizhanka – 1,152 and 5,40 grams were obtained in the version with fertilization in a dose N100P120 with a seed rate of 1, 5 million pcs/ha. Analysis of the data on the growth and development of plants of the studied mustard varieties showed that, compared to the control in the fertilizer variant in the dose N100P120, the data increased in accordance with: in the prima variety 0,208-0,326 and 0,36-0,41 g; Zaporizhanka variety is 0,186-0,334 and 0,49-0,65 g. The level of yield, depending on the dose of fertilizers and seed rates, varied: in the prima variety from 1.15-1.76 t/ha; in the Zaporizhanka variety 1.04-1.64 t/ha. The highest yield, as in the Prima variety (1.63-1.76 t/ha), and in the Zaporizhanka variety (1.48-1.64 t/ha) was formed for the introduction of mineral fertilizers in a dose of N100P120. The yield increase in relation to control, depending on the seed rate, was 0.44-0.48 t/ha and 0.44-0.46 t/ha, respectively. The optimum seed rate for the Prima variety, which yielded the highest yield – 1.76 t/ha, was 2.0 million similar seed per hectare, and for Zaporizhanka with a yield of 1.64 t/ha – 2.5 million similar seed per hectare. On average, over three years of research, the content of fat in the mustard seed of the Sarept variety of Prima was within the range: 41.8- 42.2 % in control; in variants with the introduction of mineral fertilizers 41.9-42.4 %, and white mustard Zaporizhanka respectively: 30.0-30.3 % and 29.9-30.7 %. That indicates a rather insignificant influence of the factors studied on this indicator. Taking into account the yield, the maximum yield of oil per hectare for the Prima variety is 655 kg and for the Zaporizhanka variety 429 kg, obtained under the same conditions as yields. Among the agro methods that were studied for the crop formation, the use of mineral fertilizers (r = 0.85) and the poorly cultivar and the seeding rate r = -0.29 and r = -0.06 influenced the use of mineral fertilizers. The content of fats in the seed depended only on the variety r = -0.99. The yield of oil strongly correlated with the grade r = -0,84 and moderate with mineral fertilizers r = -0,47. It should be noted the average yield of the crop with the number of pods r = 0,34 and seed per plant r = 0,45 and the weight of the seeds from one plant r = 0,57.

A development of adaptive methods of beet cultivation for seed in Kama region of the Republic of Tatarstan previously didn’t held, that served as the basis for research on assessing the impact of sowing time, the formation plantings density of uterine roots, landing roots with various schemes and planting roots mass on seed production of red beet with good sowing qualities of seeds is relevant. Introduction the technology elements of beet cultivation for seed will ensure demand for rural producers on locally conditioned grain. As the plantings density of red beet roots increased, there was a decrease in available moisture at meter soil layer, and greater use of water for crop formation is not dependent on the sowing, occurred at sowing seed rate 555 thousands per hectare. The maximum consumption of plant nutrients and their defeat by root beetle occurs during early planting and use of higher seeding rates. The maximum yield of uterine roots (33.9 tons per hectare) was obtained, when at sowing in May 20, with a seeding rate of 444 thousands units per hectare.

Potatoes are an extremely important crop for the nutrition of the population in Ukraine. Its potential is high-up to 100 t/ha of tubers, but the average yield reaches 14-16 t/ha. To obtain significantly higher productivity, it is necessary to improve the main elements of cultivation technology. The main factor of potato production on drip irrigation is the optimisation of plant nutrition, which the authors have taken to study with three varieties of early maturing potatoes. Studies have established that providing plants with nutrients with the selection of varieties can increase the productivity of tubers up to 37-39 t/ha, or increase its level compared to the control to 64.7%. It was determined that the maximum yield is provided by the main application from autumn N32P32K32, before planting N48P48K48 and carrying out three top dressings during the growing season simultaneously with watering with a total rate of N33 and Plantafol 6 kg/ha, starting from the beginning of budding with an interval of 8-10 days. At the same time, tubers are formed with high-quality indicators as they contain a sufficient number of dry substances, ascorbic acid (vitamin C), and starch. It should be noted that when optimising nutrition, the intake of all the main indicators of potato tubers compared to the control slightly decreased, namely dry substances and starch. On the contrary, the amount of ascorbic acid increased, especially with top dressing with Plantafol. Varietal features regarding the impact on the quality of tubers are also determined. Significantly more dry substances were found in tubers of the Riviera and Prada varieties, and more starch content was found in Prada and Minerva varieties. Slightly less dry matter and ascorbic acid were detected in Minerva potato tubers compared to other varieties. From the grown crop of tubers of the studied potato varieties, it is possible to obtain up to 4.0 t/ha of bioethanol or alcohol if they are processed

The article presents the results of studies on the evaluation of various factors influence on the formation of a complex of qualitative characteristics of seeds. Differences in the indexes of seed quality were established, depending on their weight, position on the ear and varietal features. The differences in the total DNA of the epiphytic microflora of seeds of different varieties are revealed. The largest and most qualitative seeds were formed in the middle part of the ear. Dependences of qualitative characteristics of seeds on the conditions of moisture content of the growing season are determined. The greatest dependence of laboratory germination in the spring was on the conditions of moistening in June of the growing of seeds. The use of different seeding rates, varieties and seed treatment has a pronounced effect on seed quality. The greatest influence on the indicator of laboratory germination was provided by the weather conditions of the vegetative period and the interaction of the variety, the rate of seeding and seed treatment. The maximum germination values were in seed treatment before seeding with Kinto Duo fungicide with the addition of Albit and a seeding rate of 5.0 million germinating seeds per hectare.

The current recommended plant density in field pea (Pisum sativum L.) in western Canada is 88 plants m–2. This rate may exceed the optimum for yield in cultivars with more basal branching than typical. The objective of this research was to determine how the seed yield of pea cultivars differing in basal branching ability responds to changes in plant density. Ten pea cultivars were sown at target plant populations of 10, 30, 90, 120, and 150 plant m–2 for 3 yr at Rosthern and Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. At very low plant densities there was greater than a twofold difference in branching potential between cultivars (range 0.85 to 1.99 branches plant–1). Increasing field pea plant density reduced branching by 0.097 branches for each additional plant. The response of yield to plant density differed, as the forage cultivars 40-10 and CDC Sonata reached their potential yield at lower densities, while Courier required higher densities to reach the same proportion of yield. Field pea cultivars with greater basal branching achieved their maximum yield at lower plant densities compared with cultivars with low basal branching. The optimum economic plant density for the pea cultivars ranged from 59 to 84 plants m–2, which is below the current recommended plant density. However, with the exception of the forage cultivars and the low-branching cultivar Courier, the optimum seeding rate was within 8% of 88 seeds m–2. It is recommended that pea growers avoid low-branching pea cultivars and seed at a rate of 88 viable seeds m–2.Key words: Basal branching, seeding rate, plant density, light interception, leafed pea, semi-leafless pea, forage pea

Purpose. To establish the influence of sowing terms and seeding rates on the formation of seed yield of soybean varieties with different growing periods in the Western Forest-Steppe natural zone of Ukraine. Methods. Field experiment, calculation and weight, mathematical statistics. Results. It was found that the studied soybean varieties with different growing periods react differently to growing conditions. Among the studied factors, the seeding rate, more than the sowing period, influenced the formation of soybean seed yield. Inparticular, the studied soybean varieties Diadema Podillya, KiVin, Knyazhna and Khutoryanochka in all terms of sowing, the highest grain yield formed at the seeding rate of 900 thousand germinating seeds per 1 ha, while the Triada variety – at the seeding rate of 700 thousand germinating seed sper 1 ha. The increase in yield compared to the seeding rate of 700 thousand germinated seeds per 1 ha was in the Diadema Podillya variety – 8,9-19,2%, in the KiVin variety – 12,4-15,6%, in the Knyazhna variety – 16,0-22,9% and in the Khutoryanochka variety – 4,2-10,1%. Reducing the seeding rate to 500 thousand germinating seeds led to a decrease in productivity for all sowing periods, in the Diadema Podolia variety – by 15,3-23,7%, in the KiVin variety – by 19,6-26,0%, in the Knyazhna variety – by 13,6-18,3%, in the Khutoryanochka variety – by 9,9-11,0% and in the Triada variety – by 17,8-25,7%. Higher indicators of seed yield all the studied soybean varieties formed during the late sowing period. Conclusions. The studied factors had a significant influence on the formation of seed yield of all soybean varieties that were studied – the timing of sowing and seeding rates, as well as the weather conditions of the growing season. The studied soybean varieties reacted differently to a decrease or increase in the seeding rate, however, higher yield indicators were formed due to the late sowing period.

The results of two-year experimental data on the growth, development and productivity of spring durum wheat cultivars - Bezenchukskaya Niva and Bezenchukskaya Zolotistaya - in the Chuvash Republic were considered. It was found that decrease in the seeding rate of germinating seeds (from 7 to 3 million per 1 ha) resulted in reducing of the growing period in the studied cultivars of spring durum wheat by 6-7 days. Seeding rate of 5 million seeds per 1 ha provided the maximum density of spike-bearing stems due to the best indicators of general and productive tillering. The formation of the largest main spike with a high grain content in Bezenchukskaya Niva cultivar was noted at the seeding rate from 3 to 5 million seeds per 1 ha. Increase in the seeding rate ( 5 million seeds) led to a decrease in the parameters of the main spike. Analysis of Bezenchukskaya Zolotistaya yield structure did not reveal clear patterns in the change in length and grain size of the main spike resulted from the seeding rate. However, the highest 1000-seed weight (50.4 g) was obtained in the variant with a seeding rate of 6 million seeds pieces. Compared to the control, the maximum yield increase in cv. Bezenchukskaya Niva (1.2 t/ha) was obtained in the variant with a seeding rate of 5 million seeds per 1 ha. The highest yield of cv. Bezenchukskaya Zolotistaya (3.23 t/ha) was obtained at a seeding rate of 6 million seeds per 1 ha.
